Ryan Fitzpatrick: Hall of Famer? or First Ballot HoFer?
DrDawkinstein replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Keeping this thread alive for the day he finally gets notice on his induction... Anyone know if this means he's eligible in 2026 or 2027? I need to start planning my PR blitz. -
They definitely clue the players in. They have had the votes in for weeks. The NFL wants all the winners there. Even if they dont come right out and say it (which they still might) they at least give an indication. I'm sure his agent got a call that was like "Josh should definitely make it to the ceremony, and he should bring anyone who is close to him that he would like to celebrate with, wink-wink, nudge-nudge". And Lamar's agent got a call like "He's welcome to attend, but it's fine if Lamar is hanging out in Florida the night of the ceremony".

I like the smaller class. I'm shocked Vinatieri didnt get in immediately. I can see him, Manning, and Suggs getting in next year. Kuechly is going to be tough. I get that he has all the accolades, but his career feels short and kind of hidden. Tough to make him part of the "NFL Story". He might be one of those guys that becomes legend and finally gets inducted 20 years from now. I was about to rant about some unfairness, but then I saw that Ryan Fitzpatrick only retired as recently as 2022, so he isnt eligible for another couple years. Looking forward to that one I dont think anyone could give a specific answer for sure, but I'd bet it has to do with the WR position. Not so much character issues, but that there are SO MANY great, big name WRs that come through the game. They could probably do an entirely separate HoF just for WRs. Yeah, I feel like it takes LBs longer to get in. They almost have to show up old and grizzled to get the jacket.

Mina Kimes is no imbecile. She knows her stuff. And she's part of the AP. She just got this one a little wrong.

Because Bills fans have been dealing with pain for DECADES. And paying our hard earned money to do so. Josh, while we love him, has been at it for 7 years and is getting paid $250M. Cmon. It's not even close who deserves it more, and I'd bet both Josh and McD would agree.

Chris Simms and Dan Orlovsky are real ones. Tom Brady and Teddy Bruschi, retired and still managing to stay on my ***** list.

Kay Adams and Mina Kimes both voted for Lamar. I hope they realize our threesome is now CANCELLED! They blew it!

Posting it again on this page, because folks will be asking

Agreed. Being with a partner who has her own success and can stand on her own and being able to feed off that, is much different than having to drag someone riding your coat tails.

thread is moving fast...

You're sticking up for those voting players while bashing bills fans, Jalen.
-
Found Jalen Ramsey's account.
-
They obviously care if they voted an MVP-caliber player as overrated.
-
We're all "over it". It's just funny to mention because it makes those voting players look obviously butthurt.

LEETTTTS GOOOOOOOO

Deleted makes it seem more like she let the cat out of the bad too soon. It was a real post on her real account.

I mostly agree. Especially in theory. But when the specific situation sticks you with Dnaiel Jones... they should have known better.

Like finally going to the playoffs the year before you are trying to draft a QB from one of the highest rated QB classes ever. They just werent realistic as to what that season really was, who Jones really is, and what they still needed to do.
-
What about keeping Barkley and getting a QB? Keep Barkley, trade down in the 2024 draft so you pick up an extra 2025 1st, and could still probably have landed BTJ. Then they have an extra pick this year to maneuver up and get a QB. This is similar to what the Bills and Beane did. Trade down in 2017, but still get some core guys. Shore up the OL. Then have ammo to move up and get your QB the next year. I'm surprised Schoen didnt copy. The bold is pretty much what Im saying. They chose wrong in sticking with DJ instead of re-signing Barkley and looking for a new QB. As it stands, they are still looking for a new QB, but now dont have Barkley either. See above: The Bills broke the drought and made the playoffs in 2017 and were still able to move up and land Josh Allen. They had a plan. The Giants didnt seem like they really had a plan. I tend to blame Owner Influence on that too.
-
Tell that to the Commanders. Or the Texans. It doesnt take 3+ years to rebuild in the NFL. Dont get me wrong, I agree the Giants suck. My point is, a big reason they suck is because they are mismanaged and didnt have a good plan in the FO.
-
I literally said draft a QB. Not draft another RB. As it stands, from what we saw in 2024 and the way it looks in the near future, the Giants FO had no plan and still dont have a plan.
-
Right. So keep your superstar and build around him. As it stands, they were much worse without Barkley and still didnt have an OL or QB. Now they are back to square one with zero assets.
-
The NFL loves selling commercial time.
-
Theyre not announcing MVP until the last award, right? So 11pm ish
-
It aint rocket surgery. You pay your superstar RB, improve your OL, and draft a QB. Prioritizing Jones made even less sense. At least the other route is a long term plan.
