Definitely agree that it was dumb to draft him #2 overall. I have to imagine if there was a 2018 redraft, Josh and Lamar go #1 and #2 in either order. That said, I think Schoen messed it up big time last year by choosing to stick with a QB that everyone in that building had to know wasnt the guy. Even with the big salary in 2024. They spent a lot of time scouting Jayden Daniels. Schoen made a number of attempts to move up in the draft. They had to know Jones was on his way out. If that's the case, then pay Barkley with a plan to draft a QB in 2025 and have your QB on a rookie deal while paying your RB. Instead they got both wrong. I'm sure Beane has an open door for when Schoen needs a job as an asst GM.

While no one is celebrating a death, Bears fans have been waiting for this. One step closer to pushing out the McCaskeys. -
I can say that the Pats are the only Division Rival that has made a move I actually (slightly) worry about. Hiring Vrabel is the best move made by an AFC East team since we drafted Josh. The good news is, they still have a long ways to go. It will depend on how they use all that cap space and those high draft picks. And of course, what McDaniels can get out of Maye. I could see us splitting with the Pats and going 5-1 in the Division next year. Still our Division to lose, but will definitely be keeping an eye on NE.

Anyone ever do a CSA? (Community supported Agriculture)
DrDawkinstein replied to Captain Hindsight's topic in Off the Wall
That is the rub. You have to be ok with the "you get what you get" approach, and be ready to make the most of it. Like, I didnt expect to have 10 lbs of radishes in my fridge. But now I do. So what can I cook with them... -

Yes, you have to be there at the specific time. I've seen some that have larger windows for pickup, like if they utilize another place of business as their location. But most are pretty specific. "Gifting" the task to someone else when you are not available is pretty common. We usually luck out with a few neighbors who send us if/when they are out of town. -

Yeah, we have a couple options here in Atlanta, and were subscribed to one for a while. It was great, until it wasnt. But I absolutely recommend trying it out. Nothing required except a paid subscription, and going to pick it up. It's basically a monthly (or weekly) box of fresh produce from a local farm for a monthly subscription. Saves you from having to go to the farmers market. -
FINAL v3.0 now LIVE on p.15 - Gunner's 2025 Mock Draft
DrDawkinstein replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
The whole saga at the end of the season with him finally getting his time to shine, and then simply not showing up for practice (while posting clips of himself at a casino) is classic Burton. Burrow shunning him on the sideline... All exactly as expected for this immature headcase. Wouldnt matter if his route tree looked like a 100yr Oak, he's too big of a risk. Although, not sure it's a risk when it's guaranteed he'd crash out. -

After watching him through his entire college career, Burton has been everything I expected of him as a professional. -
But it isnt just Groot. Like I mentioned, the other DEs in rotation do the same thing. I agree it would seem there should be someone looping around from the inside. That is how we have gotten to Mahomes with Milano in the past. But that isnt happening most of the time. So something is wrong, and the DC needs to address it. That far into the season, the Coach is responsible either way since they are either making it happen by design, or allowing it to happen by not addressing it properly.

I mean, it isnt even a question. Yes he will be cut.

Today is my least favorite day of the year, where I bury all my Bills shirts in the back of the drawer to avoid them for at least a few months. It's the first day I could even bring myself to look at them.
-
All it really comes down to is being able to make 1-2 more stops on Defense. That's it. The Chiefs Defense made 4.5 stops (I count a FG as .5). The Bills Defense made 3.5, with one of those being Mahomes fumbling on his own. We also didnt make a real stop the entire 1st half. If we made just ONE real stop in the 1st half, or one additional stop in the 2nd half, we win the game comfortably.
-
Maybe. Maybe he's following McD's guidance on how we want to treat those situations? Wont ever know. But either way, it all rolls up to the HC.
-
This is essentially what Cowherd is saying and why he blames McD. The buck stops at the HC. Anything that happens is because the HC allowed it to happen.

How many years left on the “run”
DrDawkinstein replied to iwishitwerecolder's topic in The Stadium Wall
That is the answer. As long as Josh is here. So likely 6 more seasons. (And for some perspective, this was his 7th season. So we are halfway through his career) -
And Andy Reid never won a Super Bowl in Philly. But the Eagles have won one and been to 2 since he left (now 3). Goes to show, sometimes teams need to move on from good coaches in order to take the next step.
-
Either way, they out-foxed our coaching staff. If the Chiefs had never done this before, where they show blitz from one side but send it from the other, and did it for the first time last night, kudos to them for setting us up. I wonder what twists, tricks, and new wrinkles the Bills tried to implement last night. Because it looked like our same ol formula that the Chiefs were more than prepared for.

Cooper DeJean - Would he have made a difference?
DrDawkinstein replied to ShakAttack's topic in The Stadium Wall
Possible but unlikely. DeJean was a star in college with true blue chip talents. Bishop was just a guy who played ok. There wasnt much grooming of DeJean to do. He came in and played as his normal self. DeJean would have stepped right in as Hyde Jr., Bishop isnt even Hamlin Jr yet. But had Beane made another 1st round pick on Defense, with such a need at WR in a WR draft, the board would have imploded.
