  1. Here we go, @BillsFan130. The team is already backtracking and changing their story. "Lamar Jackson's hamstring injury is more "week-to-week" than 2-3 weeks, and he will try to play this week"
  2. Ha, all good man. Just too used to folks thinking that's some major trump card to keeping coaches, if we cant name a guaranteed better replacement. They're out there. That's what the pros and consulting firms get paid the big bucks for.
  3. Oh I agree figuring out 3rd down is absolute #1 priority.
  4. I'd be more in favor of making Brady Head Coach to keep the offensive consistency and production and bringing in Schwartz who has enough experience to run his side of the ball without needing much from a HC. In fact, Schwartz seems like the type who doesnt want to hear much from the HC as it is. Seeing how he has that defense playing right now, this is a great combo, imo. The NFL is all about cycling through evolutions changes and re-evolutions. Currently, the "running game" is making a comeback. Both the Bills and Eagles, the only 2 undefeated teams, are running the ball a ton and not throwing much. Stopping the run in 2025 is CRUCIAL to having a successful year. This isnt the 2021 NFL.
  5. Haha I thought of you and at least one other when I typed that. Should have said "no normal person" And yes, Frazier was in the right mold, but the problem was he was running McD's scheme. Need someone like him but with a new scheme.
  6. Not my job to say, and it's the weakest cop out response to coaching change discussions if that's where you are going. Just like NO ONE here was mentioning Sean McDermott's name in January 2017. Depends on what HCs get fired and who is available. But it definitely shouldnt be an internal hire.
  7. IMO, tackling at this point IS a coaching issue. I cannot accept that these guys made it through High School ball, College ball, and got drafted into the NFL without knowing how to breakdown and tackle. This is a scheme/attitude issue. I believe another big part of it is McD's notoriously soft practices. These guys dont tackle at all until the games start. Open field tackling is an art, and these guys are a bunch of preschool finger painters right now. Watch the tape of the Detroit Lions spies on Lamar. Amazing breakdown techniques and they tackled him in the open pretty much every time.
  8. Firing just the DC and leaving McD in place will almost guarantee an internal promotion and running the same crappy scheme. So to answer your 2nd question first, yes its likely we promote Al Holcomb. To your first question... It absolutely shouldnt be Al Holcomb. It should be an outsider who can run their defense on their own, much like McD lets the OCs do their thing without a ton of influence. Need to find the next Spags/Fangio/Lebeau type of guy who had a crack at HC, but now just wants to punish Offenses until he retires.
  9. This is very typical McBeane drafting. They love finding raw specimens in the 3rd round. Guys who might've gone earlier if not for a couple of small things that McBeane believes they can develop. Dawson Knox, didnt catch many passes at all at Ole Miss, had some issues his rookie season, developed into one of Josh's favorite safety valves. Bernard, looked small, didnt start right away, big question mark, developed into starter/Captain Spencer Brown, big raw OT, took a year or so to develop, now one of the best OTs in the NFL Dorian Williams, another small LB from a small school Beane loves 3rd round Project Players. Landon Jackson fits this perfectly. Raw DE who needs time to develop. Look for him to improve next year and then really come into his own in 2027, if he can pull it off.
  10. I dont think he was supposed to, but McDaniel let the cat out of the bag in his press conference yesterday. Right off the bat says its a "major knee procedure on multiple ligaments" The actual quote is "um.. major.. um..knee procedure... um... on.. um.. multiple... um.. ligaments..."
  11. Thought this was very interesting from Sunday... Josh with 22 passes Cook with 22 carries
  12. Almost worse, no? We're actually blitzing a ton but folks cant even tell because they arent getting home or even past the LOS a lot of times. Whether it's the blitzes Babich is calling, the play design, or players not executing, there are big issues that the DC needs to address asap.
  13. Yep. He's literally McDermott's main pet-project and protege. Telling.
  14. This is the ad I got earlier. Topless, happy, chubby chicks. E-bikes. Luxury watches. Yall gotta up your browsing game!
  15. Who knows how long he'll keep up this charade as he collects his $260M! Next week being the Rams game? Because he's definitely missing the Texans game to prove his point. There's no telling. Like I've said, I believe he has a tweaked hammy. I just also believe that its an "injury that Josh, Mahomes, Cousins, Hurts, pretty much every other QB except maybe Richardson would play through. Everyone has dings and tweaks this time of year. No one else is pulling themselves out of games over them. I mean, the title of this thread is about comparing Lamar and Josh. The whole recent "injury" discussion is new and a tangent of this thread.
  16. This is why. The defense was a mess regardless of what players were available. VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV
  17. Josh breaks a hand, never misses a beat. I believe he played through a bad elbow for a while too. Mahomes, multiple leg injuires, never misses a snap. Oliver hits Jackson, cant play crucial 4th down. Jackson gets tackled hard down 30-17, walks off and leaves game. Doesnt have a new contract, let's Huntly play in playoffs. Just some good-natured ribbing that when he comes back "early" after next week instead of 2-3 weeks, most of us will know he wasnt that injured, and you'll be in the group that is amazed by what a competitor he is to come back early. All good. Go Bills!
  18. Well hook a brother up with a link to some of these breakdowns!
  19. I believe he'll be out this week, but to your point, he'll be back after that. And then the Ravens and fans can laud it as this amazing comeback because he's such a specimen and competitor. But it doesnt erase the tape of what we all saw. @BillsFan130 will eat it up tho.
  20. I think it's really nothing more than he wanted to show he was ok so it didnt bring the team and fans down, but he doesnt have the mental/emotional maturity to know all he had to do was a simple and strong thumbs-up. And he probably knew it was bad and didnt want to show it. So what we got was that weird, awkward "celebration".
  21. Nope different situation altogether than Peyton. Its kinda crazy to me after we've all watched Josh so much, how you cant see the obvious difference in drive and demeanor. Maybe watch more Ravens games. But I get you dont want to believe this for whatever reason, and I've seen enough to believe it. So agree to disagree I guess.
  22. His performances in the playoffs and when things are at their toughest say different. He chalks up a lot of regular season wins and stats tho.
  23. I dont think any of that must go together. He got those MVPs by having ridiculous stats. If you go back and look, he got a LOT of those stats in garbage time with his team already way up. The same type of situations that the Bills pull Josh and other starters. The Ravens keep Lamar in and keep him throwing to pad stats. He's had quitting accusations since his 3rd year in the league. This is nothing new. You can have good stats and be mentally soft. Totally faked an injury? No Found a good excuse to pull himself out of a bad game, and take some time to rest in a bad season? Believable
  24. I dont think its as big as youre making it sound. Certainly not some grand conspiracy. But it's not just saving Lamar face. It's a bad look for Harbaugh and the entire organization to have Lamar go back out on Sunday like he is totally fine and make it clear he pulled himself and the coaches have no control of the team. Schitt is spiraling in Baltimore right now. It's a pick-your-poison situation, but letting Lamar rest for a week is a better look for a lot of people than having him play. They arent risking the whole season, just Sunday. The season is bad enough already.
