Week 8 - Around the NFL (i.e. NOT a Bills thread please)
Dr. Who replied to aristocrat's topic in The Stadium Wall
Fella, it's a joke. Someone upthread declared them unstoppable after the first touchdown. I responded by declaring it a bit premature for those sorts of announcements, with the further assertion that they were currently stoppable because SF had answered. The whole enterprise is dubious . . . -

Never met a donut he didn't love. Bengals pretty close to going back to unstoppable, btw. -

We only want the ones who can't play. -

And now it's tied. Maybe let's wait a bit before making pronouncements. Or do we continue based on every momentary permutation. It could get tedious. Currently, they may be stoppable. -

He took a lot of bad sacks in the first half. Falcons have had a spark once Heinicke came in. -

So, the hapless Falcons are not only losing to the Titans, they have allowed 3 reception tds by Hopkins. -

I hope we start seeing Kincaid become the de facto second option. It would be nice if Hopkins shook loose at the TDL and that Beane was in on it. I'm rooting for a Falcons' win to nudge the Titans into being a seller. (Overall, I'm pleased with Gabe Davis this year. He's done better than I expected. If he was WR3, I'd be happier.) -
Or you could fix the spelling in the title, like a rational human being.

Henry would be nice, but expensive. He's a bit of a luxury, though I'd love to have him. I think they should prioritize 1DT and LB. Don't know what is out there. -
Do you think the offense was better yesterday?

That's good life advice. And trying to be in control resulted in overly cautious, conservative choices. -

Agreed on the injuries, but I think we win large. -
No one is saying that. You are a troll or a pathological Debbie Downer. The Bills right now are putting up extraordinary numbers. Folks are excited by how well the team is playing. Nearly everyone is aware how long the season is and that injuries are a huge factor in post-season success. But signs of exceptional excellence are not utterly insignificant, and well worth celebration.

Looks like the Bills are Flying Virgin Atlantic to London
Dr. Who replied to Dan Darragh's topic in The Stadium Wall
Those of you who have significant experience flying back and forth to the UK, how much of an advantage is it for the Jags to already be in London for a week? -

Emotional intelligence and empathy is a genuine concern. I hope you didn't torture small animals as a youth. -

They cut Ateman, the WR, for Peaches and Herb. -
I expect more than that from him, ultimately, but it's true that he is already making an impact in the role you articulate. Having a reliable slot that can move the chains is a significant upgrade from last year, as you implicitly note.

There is room to grow. That's good. I don't want to peak in week 4. I expect Kincaid's role will grow and expand naturally. It is unrealistic to expect a rookie to immediately have the instant impact of an established starter. Dorsey and Allen have a great thing going now. Let the Josh to Kincaid connection simmer. It's going to be smooth and dangerous, just have to be patient.

It would have been a big hole to climb out from to be 2 back of the Dolphins and a home loss. The stakes were huge for the Bills and they played about as well as you can play. It's just not correct to reduce it to "well, they held serve." And when they do play in Miami, it's not going to be the blazing heat advantage to the Dolphins that it would be early in the season.
