I definitely would have taken Rice if he was on the board. Not sure how much before he was taken.

Traded down a bit. Couldn't pass on JPJ when he was there at #60, which would never happen. 37. Troy Franklin WR Oregon 60. Jackson Powers-Johnson OC Oregon 69. McKinnley Jackson DT Texas A&M 99. Braden Fiske DT Florida State 128. Tykee Smith S Georgia 158. Luke McCaffrey WR Rice 161. Jaylon Carlies S Missouri 197. Marshawn Kneeland EDGE Western Michigan 201. Kendall Milton RB Georgia 245. Joshua Karty K Stanford

I like quite a few of those picks. The first two are home runs. Anim Dankwah is just a huge human being. He's one of my late pick favorites. Personally, I am an UGA fan who lives near Athens, so I have that bias, but I think there are a lot of good NFL players in this year's draft from UGA that should be looked at. Hopefully, someone besides the Philadelphia Eagles drafts them. I agree with @BADOLBILZ that James Williams is really a LB at the NFL level, so I'd prefer Hicks to him at S. If Javon Bullard is available, however, trust me, he is the one to go get. Two fellas as mid-round safeties are one of the other UGA safeties, Tykee Smith, and Jaylon Carlies. And they have him ranked in the 300s on that simulator you are using, but I really like Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint as someone worth a day 3 flier at WR.
-
I would love to get him, but the cost would be prohibitive, and you have to find a team willing to trade down from a top ten pick.
-
Who are your 1T targets? If Sweat comes within range in the 2nd, I can even see them moving up to get him. I have no idea if they can play 1T, but I like Jordan Jefferson as a mid-round pick, or maybe Jowon Briggs late. @GunnerBill may have some suggestions.

What are your feelings on James Cook RB1
Dr. Who replied to BillMafia716ix's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was hoping Braelon Allen would last till our 3rd rounder, but that is unlikely. Folks will want WR, DT, and S before RB; I would not pass on him at #99. -
Really great decade for music, but when I think '70s, I mainly think of how these fellas never stopped ruining Sundays.
-
I hope they resign DQ. I've watched more SEC football than other college games. Another fella you could grab later as a rotation player to throw into the mix is Jordan Jefferson out of LSU. Not sure when he is likely to go, but day 3.
-
Seems to me there are a fair number of 3T candidates that you can find at every level of the draft, but not many that obviously fill the role that would best compliment Oliver. I like T'Vondre Sweat if he falls to 60, but that is unlikely. Another big DL I see out there that pops is Darius Robinson out of Mizzou. They lined him up on the edge a lot, but he can play the interior and pressure. I'm an UGA fan, and that Missouri team was really competitive. Both of those guys are probably early to mid 2nd rounders at the moment. Who knows where it will all end up after the combine and free agency, but it doesn't look like a deep draft for what we particularly need.
-
The only silver lining in that is they need to get younger, and it's not a high bar for a reshuffled Dline to perform at the level of most of the players that will walk. DQ is a problem, however, since there are few 1T in the draft worth looking at. I'm hoping they have enough, at least, for a veteran safety, as that is a buyer's market in FA.
-
No, I don't either, but the simulator I was using always has him ranked in the 300s, so I knew I could select him with the last pick. I live near Athens, and have an UGA bias, but I do believe he's worth a day 3 pick.

Should the Bills trade up for their own “Julio Jones”
Dr. Who replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
Have to ask the fella if he believes the earth is flat. -
I'd like to get a rb with size in the draft. Braelon Allen is the fella I really like, but he probably goes between our 2nd and 3rd pick. Isaiah Davis later is someone I would look at.
-
I did this one without making trades. BUF 28. Xavier Legette WR South Carolina 60. T'Vondre Sweat DT Texas 99. Braelon Allen RB Wisconsin 128. Tykee Smith S Georgia 158. Jaylon Carlies S Missouri 161. Luke McCaffrey WR Rice 197. Sundiata Anderson EDGE Grambling State 201. Jowon Briggs DT Cincinnati 205. Anim Dankwah OT Howard 245. Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint WR Georgia
-
I'd like to draft Braelon Allen, the Wisconsin rb. He's an absolute tank, and made for goal-line situations.
-
I don't see it happening. I just said it would take something like that to tempt him. Personally, I'd stay at #28 and hope Legette is there.
-
Nope. He absolutely struggled. No one drafting in the first 27 should even consider taking him early.
-
It certainly would be that kind of price to move that far up. I doubt he trades the second. I think next year's picks might come into play. He might do it should Nabers or Odunze unexpectedly fall within range. I could see a smaller move up to go grab Brian Thomas. I rather expect the Chiefs to try and get ahead of us for the WR we covet.

The Bills' abject lack of a deep middle passing game
Dr. Who replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's an interesting alternative strategy. I am open to the idea, but I would still want to add two young receivers with plus talent. I like Shakir. He's a nice piece. Obviously, you need a bigger guy for the X. It shouldn't be impossible to find someone with more consistent hands than Davis and a larger route tree. I won't talk about the top 3 WR in the draft, because I think the price to move up would be exorbitant, and I don't expect Beane to invest that much draft capital in one player. There should still be a viable receiver at #28 that can upgrade the outside receiver. And there are a lot who will probably go day 2 that are difference makers. It's a deep draft, so OBD should have plenty of opportunities to add weapons for Josh. -
Mitchell has great hands. He's not explosive, but I like him a lot. The Mitchell that is talked about above, however, is the DB Quinyon Mitchell.

The Bills' abject lack of a deep middle passing game
Dr. Who replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am in partial agreement. I do think there's a decent chance Diggs was injured and will play better next year. Kincaid should be a major focal point of the offense going forward. Two things I would add. Part of this you can't replicate, because Andy Reid is an offensive genius. Even in a down year, folks were afraid of Mahomes and the Chiefs offense. And in the playoffs, they proved that concern legitimate. Given adequate OC coaching, there's no good reason that Josh Allen should not have an offense that can also inspire habitual fear in the opponent. Allen's been held back by a lot of things, sometimes of his own making, but very much largely due to Beane's attempt to build a balanced roster. It's great to have depth, but in the post-season, you better have multiple playmakers. Yes, you need them on both sides of the ball, but when Josh Allen is your qb, there should be multiple receiving threats that scare the opponent. I don't have certitude Diggs will become the player he was several years ago. Regardless, I think they require more than a solid #2. They need someone who has a plausible #1 WR ceiling. Diggs may return to form, but he's still at that age where you should be preparing for a young guy to ascend as Diggs slows down. And this is a very good draft class for WR. They should take one early and at least one more relatively early. Blocking ability is important, but speed and exceptional hands are my top qualities that need to be there. -
I think @GunnerBill is likely correct that Atlanta at #8 is the earliest you might conceivably have a seller in the top ten. The price would be very high. I would be tempted to pay it for Nabers, but I think it's unlikely he'll fall that far.
-
That's almost as predictable as what happens after a McDermott defensive time out.
-
Not even close. To move from 27 to 10 the year the Chiefs moved up for Kermit, it cost their next year's first, and they really should have paid more. Just looked at a draft pick trade value chart. The comp pick will come after the last regular third round pick. It might allow you to move up 4 spots.

That's why we want them to take Daniels.
