  1. To be clear, I think McConkey is a late first round talent. He's one of my favorite players in the draft. He sure as hell could blow up in KC, and I would hate to see a fella I really like playing for that outfit. But for the Bills, we need that big X first and foremost. You shut up.
  2. I agree entirely. I've already said as much maybe twice in the last thirty minutes, and previously. McConkey would be great as a second receiver, if you had that luxury and draft position to make it happen. We need a big X at #28, and I think at least one of Mitchell, Legette, Thomas, okay, and maybe Coleman will be there.
  3. He can, imo, but I know lots of folks doubt it.
  4. There's no green check mark laughing emoji hybrid . . .
  5. The best DTs that will go in the first play 3T, the same position Ed does. Sweat is not a first rounder. Latu will be gone before #28. The only dumb thing that could muck it up is taking Chop Robinson, which might happen. It would be dumb, but I don't discount the possibility.
  6. Dammit. I can't really be rational about my favorites. I think they need to get a big X. It has to be Thomas, Mitchell, or Legette at #28. (Or maybe Coleman -- don't want to upset @HappyDays). But McConkey has late first talent. Folks can argue all they like, I won't budge. It's all part of the master plan.
  7. I love McConkey. I'm a UGA fan (I live just outside of Athens.) He's easily one of my favorite players in the draft. He'd need to be the second receiver we take, unfortunately, and he'll be gone way before #60. Not to mention some folks here would go apoplectic if we double dipped on receiver the first two rounds. (And to be fair, they'd probably be right about that.)
  8. Greg Cosell watched the same tape, and came to different conclusions. He's ahead of Coleman for me. I liked Mitchell before the Combine. I liked him when he was at UGA, for that matter. He's a big game player, and we could use that.
  9. Thomas, Mitchell, Legette -- Bills have to land one of them in the first. I don't want to hear about Chop Robinson. Get Josh WR talent and start seeing other teams scared to play us because they can't stop us. Miami does that with Tua at QB, and some folks here think it's fine to waste Josh Allen on mid-round WRs and modest free agents. It's criminal neglect. Thankfully, this is the draft to make up for it.
  10. I agree on McConkey. I'd love him as a second receiver in this draft, but I don't see him going later than early second. Legette and Mitchell ought to be at the top of our list for WR at #28, but I think you probably have to trade up if you want Mitchell now.
  11. I agree it's not everything, but Mitchell has excellent traits. The knock on him was speed, though I always felt he was faster than folks gave him credit for.
  12. Yeah, he's got great hands and plays big in big games. Cosell really likes him. We're going to have to trade up from #28 to get him. I'll blow a gasket if the Chiefs trade up ahead of us and grab him.
  13. I never had Coleman at #28 as a target. Thomas, Mitchell, Franklin, and Legette are the fellas I like. I counted Thomas as likely gone, but I was hoping for Mitchell. Now I think you may need to trade up for either.
  14. The way I look at it, #28 should be WR. How day 2 goes is tricky. I think DT for sure, but what else? I can see multiple picks at WR, DT, maybe even S if they let Poyer go by the time the draft plays out. But I do think RB at 129 is possible.
  15. That forty time is going to move him up a couple of rounds.

  17. At that speed, you might be able to get him on day 4.
  18. I think someone upthread identified them with a list from CBS sports. They definitely are not Cosell's ranking of the receivers.
  19. Responding to both comments: I agree, really, about Allen, including the sentiment about not being upset if Beane pulled the trigger. That's why I have also discussed Isaiah Davis and Kendall Milton as backs you can get later who are bigger. Milton would be someone you can probably get in the 7th. I just don't think Allen will last till the 4th. The WRs I like best for the Bills early outside the unreachable top 3 are Thomas, Mitchell, Franklin, and Legette. There's a bunch more I like a bit later, and I'd be surprised if Thomas is there at #28. At the moment, Legette is the only one I feel pretty confident will be there at #28. The others might be.
  20. This is what I wrote in the Will Derrick Henry be a Bill in 2024 thread back on Feb 3rd: I'd like to draft Braelon Allen, the Wisconsin rb. He's an absolute tank, and made for goal-line situations. And in the What are your feelings about James Cook as RB1 thread on Feb 7th: I was hoping Braelon Allen would last till our 3rd rounder, but that is unlikely. Folks will want WR, DT, and S before RB; I would not pass on him at #99.
  21. Right. If you want Bishop or Bullard, it's day 2 for certain. I'm hoping Smith is the day 3 option.
  22. Bishop, Bullard, and Tykee Smith were my favorites coming in, and they still are.
  23. Adonai Mitchell and Troy Franklin are the fellas I think you're looking at as possible at #28. I think Cosell is one of the sharper minds out there. He's very high on Mitchell; likes Franklin as well. At the end of the interview, Cosell says, "Diggs is not a true 1 anymore. . . They need more juice at receiver . . . you don't want to waste Josh Allen without giving him receivers."
  24. Yeah, I penciled him in at #60.
