  1. Yeah, I don't see the desperation narrative at all. I think you consider Antonio Brown because you're confident in your locker room and think you can bring a fella like that in. Anyway, that's a counter-narrative. If they hit on Allen, they're going to be here a long time. If not, probably not. All the other speculation is peripheral.
  2. I am in the keep Risto camp unless there is a ridiculous offer coming back. Starting to think the draft preference is Cozens, Zegras, with Newhook as a dark horse.
  3. I think it has to be a UFA thing. Rangers taking a chance. At least the Jets don't have to worry they are getting little return on a future Conn Smythe winner
  4. Other than Antoinio Brown which doesn't look like it was really an option, where were the really good options? I think Dawson Knox was drafted in the sweet spot for TE. There are supposed to be a lot of very good WRs at the top of next years draft, not so much the past draft. I think it's alright to be skeptical about evaluation on the offensive side of the ball up to this point -- Fat Benjamin, Jordan Matthews, and the fella with the shoe collection we wasted a seventh on don't inspire confidence -- but on the other side, I'm not writing Zay Jones off just yet and Foster was a pleasant surprise. Anyway, WR corp looks adequate to me, which is an improvement. The main effort to help Josh Allen was the oline, which I hope will be somewhat more than adequate. I expect serious investment next year in WR through draft and free agency. I think Josh has enough to progress, though obviously top end talent at WR would help a lot.
  5. Then you are expecting Cody Ford to start at RG. I think the Ford pick changes their plans. Nsekhe becomes a high-priced swing tackle imo, but we'll see.
  6. I basically agree with John C's response. There are levels of incompetency. Maybe you think JBots is a complete idiot. I don't.
  7. In which case, ROR's public expression ought to be ironized, no? He's not just some simple, hardworking emo who was blindsided by a trade. But maybe Jbots didn't realize ROR was a good player so he traded him for a bad return just because, you know, he's a dim.
  8. ROR can say whatever he wants for public consumption. If the fella didn't want out, he wouldn't have been traded.
  9. Who are these "people" who "pick up anything they want from it and make it into anything they want?" Do you think the hoi polloi got O'Reilly traded? Either JBots is as dim as the other folks you have contempt for or there was a problem.
  10. Common among the rainbows and unicorns crowd. If you want superior insight, you have to go ask the floods and toads folks.
  11. So now folks who disagree with you are dim, make crappy posts, and ought to be ignored? You're a lovely fellow. Again, why was he traded? His play was not the issue. If you use your superior intellect you might discern I said he was a good player, so why are you quoting me stats to indicate he is a good player. I'm not disputing that. Teams don't ordinarily trade players like that who produce well and certainly not for questionable and generally poor returns unless they are forced to because of issues obvious or not. I surmise character problems that might be connoted broadly as a sulk.
  12. Why do you think ROR was traded? He sulked his way off the team the same way he sulked his way off Colorado. Don't know how the Sabres would have looked with a center spine of Eichel, O'Reilly, Mitts, and Asplund, but I'm guessing this coming year they might have been formidable, especially with a coaching change. He's a good player, not so good dude, imo. Feel free to think differently. Personally, I don't believe everyone who disagrees with me is dim, but that's your perogative as well.
  13. Yeah, well, it really wouldn't look good to see ROR win the Conn Smythe and have Skinner walk . . .
  14. I agree with the concern. People often think if you're good at something difficult, you should find easy things simple and if you're not good at them, it just means you don't care enough to do what you could easily achieve if you just put your mind to it. I don't think that's necessarily true, but I still think odds are Josh figures it out.
  15. I'm not expecting 65%. I don't see why he can't approach 60% or learn to take the short throw and YAC judiciously, even with a proclivity to go long. Play action and a solid running game is the best way to nurture Allen's game. I surmise that is the plan. I think the comeback wins will come but that is all projection. Allen's arm talent and personality give him the potential to be a franchise qb. Tyrod was by nature too cautious and I think he maximized his talent as a top 20 qb on a good day, good backup most often.
  16. Big plays and Tyrod running was not a sustainable formula long-term. I always felt lucky rather than confident with that offense. I would not classify it as excellent, no matter what the numbers. The first half of last season the offense looked historically bad, but I feel better about the potential to turn that around because of the rebuilt o-line and Josh Allen. WR corps is probably only adequate now, but that's a step up too.
  17. I think you're right and I sure hope you're right. Not knowing about Taylor would be a bad sign.
  18. You're missing a prime opportunity to panic.
