  1. Some folks have been wondering how the media that seemed hesitant to anoint Allen the next great qb even after last year seem to now be quickly bringing him into that conversation. It could be recency bias, but I think the way Allen moved the team down the field in the preseason against the Packers was taken as an indication that he's matured to the point that he is willing to move slowly down the field if that is what the defense dictates. If Josh doesn't get impatient, you won't be able to stop him; and there will always be the big plays, so this is not an argument to become a dink-and-dunk team for those who are worried about that.
  2. Apparently they have a new scheme for offense. They are going to use snaps under center and play action rather than shotgun formation.
  3. Humorless piety is not the best witness to robust faith. Pretty sure Divine largesse includes the capacity to discern obvious hyperbole and playful intent to celebrate good fortune.
  4. And we don't generally say maths, though I rather like that expression.
  5. Good point. I had not thought of that. And yes, Bease does have superlative football intelligence so hopefully he remains available. Hard to replace that.
  6. For this year only, Sanders is the fella that I feel could comfortably fill that role. Gentry is an interesting thought for down the line.
  7. Well, you and I often have similar sensibility. Just have to accept that one has to keep quiet on matters outside of football as the price of hanging out here. Back in medieval Europe when universities were founded, dialectical back-and-forth allowed for vigorous debate, though I surmise everyone probably still thought the other side was often full of blockheads . . .
  8. Star is limited, but an above average space eater and I don't think there's any doubt the defense is appreciably better when he is out there.
  9. Yes, right. I think receiving yards out of the backfield are important for this explosive offense to become even more dangerous.
  10. Any clue why such quick decisions? Seems odd to claim someone just to send them packing a few days later. (I understand that some players get picked up to fill out the last preseason game roster, but this appears excessive even by that account.)
  11. He might still get brought back. Unclear if he is "cut" to facilitate putting a player on IR or not.
  12. Standing Buffalo is the best helmet. No need for any other alternative. The Blue concept helmet is simply hideous.
  13. How is he at returning punts?
  14. Happy Birthday, Figster!
  15. It's because his name is Taiwan, isn't it? You must be a Communist or something.
  16. 4 pm is taking an awful long time to get here.
  17. Yes, I actually posted on the generic scenario and agreed with the Sweeney IR likelihood upthread. Your tone did not make sense to me, but understandable if you were ignorant concerning the other TE cuts. I like Becker, so I hope we bring him back to PS.
  18. Well, he looked good in preseason, the Josh connection isn't nothing, and the current compliment of healthy TEs is Knox and the FB Gilliam. The concern is not ridiculous.
  19. Seriously, fella. You are one of my favorite posters, but your predilections are certainly eccentric.
  20. There are a few other IR candidates, but this sounds like the most plausible outcome.
