Yes, they missed that call. In the same play, they clearly showed prior to that helmet flying off a UK oline man holding an UGA DL's facemask for a prolonged period. It should have been off-setting. Nonetheless, I don't think UK had the game stolen from them. I do think there were a number of questionable calls in the LSU South Carolina game that cumulatively tilted the field in the favor of LSU. Though I am an UGA fan who lives near Athens, so there's that.

They did not steal it. The LSU victory was arguably gifted by the zebras.

It's Josh Derangement Syndrome.

Nice moves by McConkey on the TD.

Week 1 - Cardinals at Bills - Game Week Thread
Dr. Who replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe if Coleman started his route yesterday, he might get there. -
They are rating him above average and probably think he is still ascending. The injury history is a concern. Personally, I think investment in the oline is normally one of the sounder strategies. If they are right, but wait until there is enough body of work to confirm it so that it would be an easy consensus, the price tag goes way up. Folks who are uncertain can always point to failed gambles, but I don't think a GM can avoid projecting and gambling. It's sunk cost now, so let's hope Beane got this one right.

Yes, I understand. For much of his time here, however, he was very good during the regular season. At the end, it went bad. The character issue is genuine. He may be passionate about winning, but it's a selective passion.

Except in the playoffs.

I mean, when even the famous Stoic Roman emperor is driven to passionate denunciation, one can but agree.

I'm not sure what the effects of snorting Kool-Aid would be, but I think it may be the answer to the folks who are, shall we say, enthusiastically optimistic.

Stealth hope is the way.

It's just a joke, fella.

Pretty damn sure you're the fella at the holiday season table explaining to the youngsters that reindeer don't fly and Santa is an imaginary fat dwarf who couldn't possibly get down a chimney.

Safety and WR were and are the two positions of concern where there is clearly greater potential for a player to seize the opportunity. (Kicker, too, but that is complicated by an onerous, dim contract.) I don't think it's an accident that two players that garnered interest from other teams signed here to the PS from those position groups.

I think it's the right call. Now McD can really concentrate on when best to call the patented defensive time out so as to most accurately permit the opposition to gain a crushing first down.

He's still got your toaster, doesn't he?

Squeaky McDermott holds a grudge, I tell ya.

It won't and shouldn't happen. We have, to be polite, a below average WR room. They're going to play a lot of 12.

Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-season game 3
Dr. Who replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Insightful as always, thank you. The WR room is the most talked about subject, and everyone has made their particular stance clear by this point. It's an unfortunate place to be with Josh Allen in his prime, retooling the roster or not. The Bass situation is the one that for sure will lose you games. They can't wait till next year to fix it. -
I don't care who drafts me, I'm demanding a trade to Buffalo. If they won't listen, Tampa Bay or the Raiders, because pirates are cool.
-
This is all correct, but don't put any money on fans being rational about this, or much of anything else, for that matter.
-
Nice summation. It ought not to be that hard to see.
-
Why would you intentionally limit your potential that way? It's almost as dim as taking Bryce Young over C.J. Stroud.

Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-season game 2
Dr. Who replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah, I'm just making a broader point, because there is a fair amount of argument over how one should interpret that particular throw and who is to blame. I think it's a lot of energy devoted to a relatively unimportant play. I agree that Allen at QB likely results in an easy TD. -
Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-season game 2
Dr. Who replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
It was a bad throw, but quibbling over how bad is not significant to the future success of the team. The lack of reliable outside speed is and has been an obvious deficit from before the draft. Beane seems to have had a solid draft (it's promising, at least), but neglecting a crucial facet of the WR room is just not good, and it accentuates the fear that he is simply always going to follow a Carolina paradigm that undervalues the position. That's absolutely criminal when your QB is Josh Allen.
