  1. Last year is last year. Teams will study the tape. A boundary WR with speed and reliable hands that can beat press coverage is still a significant need. Cooper might come back healthy. You have to sign him, if that’s the way you go. Higgins does not have the same skill set, but he’d be a valuable asset. He’s too expensive. In reality, the Bills are not in a great spot for WR. They’re not going to be in a position to get a WR in the draft that can contribute right away. A mid-level vet or a mid-round pick, or both, is what you’re looking at. And most folks do understand that there are massive needs on DL, CB, and S, yet. That’s where I would concentrate, but it doesn’t make the deficit at receiver go away.
  2. Lack of elite talent is the tipping point. We are a very good team, but we consistently come up short because when it's single elimination, we get beat by the teams with elite difference makers on both sides of the ball. Beane got burned by the Von Miller gamble. He needs to get past that and gamble, whether that be FA or the draft.
  3. If you play enough of these scenarios, one of them is going to throw you a completely unrealistic payoff that hits on multiple needs. I made a small trade back from 62 to add 134. Harmon at 56 is bonkers. Egbuka at 30 isn't happening either. 30. Emeka EgbukaWR Ohio State 56. Derrick HarmonDT Oregon 65. T.J. SandersDT South Carolina 108. Quincy RileyCB Louisville 131. 4. Almost as expensive as you are.
  5. Teams will analyze the tape. We still lack explosive play capability, and it's a deficiency not to have that. Objectively, boundary receiver is a need on offense. Josh Allen should have that in his arsenal. If you have a problem adding that one piece on offense, I think that is an unbalanced view. You can do that and still grab DL and a corner or two. I'm assuming DL, CB, and S are also the most likely FA targets.
  6. It's not an either/or. I think we need to add a boundary receiver who is a weapon. At minimum, someone good enough to make the opposing defenses account for that part of the field. However one acquires such, there is plenty of draft capital and FA to do that and also build the defense, which definitely needs upgrades. Beyond the talent, I think you need some scheme change. Hopefully McDermott's process has revealed that necessity.
  7. Thanks very much. One last question on this topic: if Egbuka fell a bit, would you consider trading up for him, or is the preference still D line or maybe CB in the first?
  8. We might have to find a way to pick up a third round pick. I like Badger. I had been thinking you could pick him up later on day 3.
  9. Other than Isaiah Bond, perhaps, who is likely to be available late second that is worth a selection? It's a bad draft for WR. Not sure what the FA market is, but Higgins is too expensive. Maybe they resign Cooper and he is healthy and better than what we ultimately got. That's the one position I think has to be accounted for. I'd still like to add at least a developmental WR with speed that can play on the outside.
  10. My understanding is the Bills would be awarded a third round pick for 2026 and another for 2027 if Gray were to be hired.
  11. I like the idea of two huge DTs for the middle. Doubt Amos drops to #56. The UCLA LB is really an Edge. BUF 30. Kenneth GrantDT Michigan 56. Trey AmosCB Ole Miss 62. Savion WilliamsWR TCU 108. 12. A nuanced and generous response to an unserious and lazy post.
  13. Scenario #1 is more of the same. I would be disappointed if that were the strategy. I agree with those who have suggested that TP will want to build enthusiasm to sell PSLs for the new stadium. Further, there ought to be urgency to get Josh Allen to a Super Bowl while he is in his prime years. It's already a damn shame it hasn't happened.
  14. Grant is my favorite. Watts is excellent, but I'd be a bit surprised if they went safety that early.
  15. Unfortunately, you'd need two first rounders. Don't think either makes it to #30.
  16. I can see trading for a someone like Garrett or Crosby. You'd still have enough draft capital to grab DL. It's a deep draft there. There are some absolute monster DTs. Some can even apply pressure up the middle and get to the QB. I think with the recent D coaching hires, they may be open to expanding the paradigm. I sure hope it includes adding heft in the trenches on the D side.
  17. Even if they get Garrett, they should think about drafting two.
  18. Yes, I agree. I was just responding to the fella who talked about needing a WR1. I'd like to have one, of course, but fast and gets separation, provided it includes catches the ball will be enough.
  19. It's a weak draft for WR. You could still get a field stretcher like Isaiah Bond in the second. You're not likely going to find a WR1. There's a lot of good DL, especially at DT. Beane needs to hit on multiple picks there.
  20. I'd be looking to add a fella that is ready to be a game-changer right now. You're trading for that if it's an Edge. Everyone knows Beane needs to draft better in the early rounds, including Beane.
  21. I am dubious about that. You're not going to move up in the draft for a player of that quality. If you stay at #30 and retain the pick, it's likely DT or CB imo.
  22. They absolutely still need a boundary WR with speed and reliable hands. I don't know if Cooper is that player, but it's an important element. We lack explosive downfield plays, and the threat and capacity for that should not be neglected, regardless of their approach. WR is a weak position in this draft. Aside from that, the rest of the needs are all D. Edge, DT, CB, S, LB. They could use one of everything, 2 DT imo. What you won't find at #30 is a game-wrecker DE that is likely to make a significant impact year one. In my view, FA targets should be WR, DE, and a veteran S that could start. If they somehow get Crosby or Garrett, that would be the only expensive buy.
  23. Hey, there's a lot of us.
  24. That's because it does look cool. Standing Buffalo is cool.
  25. As a hockey owner, Terry Pegula is a disgrace. As a football owner, he and the city are fortunate he stumbled upon Sean McDermott and Brandon Beane. Whatever their shortcomings, they are competent and have built a winning program.
