  1. If they want to meet up at the pub, I'd be happy to explain it to them, especially if they're willing to pick up the tab.
  2. I've become bipolar on Higgins. For a number of weeks, he was my favorite day 2 WR, but then I was convinced by the pundits and some folks here that he isn't the answer at boundary WR because of lack of deep speed. Still, my natural inclination is to really like the guy. Another fella that probably is a good choice as day 2 WR is Jalen Royals. (I didn't know about Blue's fumbling issues; that's not good.) I wouldn't mind doubling up at DT. I like all the ones you mentioned. Folks appear to have cooled on Grant. Maybe I'm hallucinating, but I believe there is some hidden pass rush there. Anyway, I've already got his nickname picked out: Unconditional Surrender.
  3. Bills have been looking at some day 2 LBs. It might be a surprise position of priority. For me, it should be DT, CB, Edge, and boundary WR with speed. (I'm not sold on Palmer being much more than replacement level, even though they spent a decent amount on him in FA.) Early on, over on some other sites, I saw a fair amount of speculation that they want to upgrade G. Personally, I would take a day 3 developmental fella, but there was some innuendo there. I don't know if it was about some dissatisfaction with Torrence or not. And overall, I agree that Beane needs to go after impact players, even if that means having less depth.
  4. I agree. I was just pushing back on that narrow focus, though as I said, I'll certainly be fine if they decide to use some picks to improve draft position. This is also a function of spending far too much time on mock drafts, and discovering one has left out a position, or forgotten what one drafted just five minutes ago, so you end up with something embarrassing like two safeties and the like. My advice, don't drink and draft.
  5. If you think the roster more than just this year, there are more needs, because a competent GM has to plan to draft and develop players to be ready to replace veterans you may not keep beyond 2025. Without even going into that deeply, I could see WR, G, RB, TE on offense, and it would be a nice idea to draft a QB to turn into a decent and cheap backup. On defense, there are positions you need at least one, and could easily double up on such as DT, Edge, CB. They are looking at LB, and may draft one higher than folks expect, and S could still use upgrading, imo. In short, there really isn't an excess of picks. I'm alright if they leverage some day 3 picks to move up, but they could plausibly use them all.
  6. That's why we're trading them to move up, damn it. It's a completely new strategy.
  7. It's just a data point, and I've no idea of the methodology behind it, but I don't think it's necessary to denigrate the attempt. And for certain, in many aspects of life, the qualitative eludes the capture of the quantitative. However, let's just talk about this specific player. Nolen has been talked about as having impressed both in his play, and in the Combine and predraft process. Personally, I've been wary of him because he replicates 3T, which is redundant with Oliver taking a lot of snaps. This chart indicates a player that is good against both the run and as someone who can provide pressure against the pass. That's not immaterial to me. But, yes, I suppose one could blanket assume that folks are just going to look at a chart and make a snap judgment.
  8. Sure looks good on that chart.
  9. Wasn't happy with the choices at 30 and kept trading back. Ended up pretty interesting. Doubled up on some key positions, and overall I like this for the D. 42. Tyleik WilliamsDT Ohio State 56. 10. It's a lifestyle choice.
  11. Sabres need a reliable goalie.
  12. You'd need a trebuchet.
  13. If Starks is there, you take him. He is damn good.
  14. There's some sort of character issue with Pearce (at least that has been a persistent rumor), but I don't know exactly what. I surmise that may be the reason he is sliding some. Depending on what it is, I do think Beane needs to grab difference makers, and he is potentially one of them. I doubt Starks comes within range. He just ended up falling in that particular shuffle, and it turned into a nice draft.
  15. I've been pushing for Harmon or Grant, knowing that Beane is almost certainly locked in on CB at 30. All that said, and even though CB2 is the evident gaping hole on the roster, if Starks falls to 30, there's no way you don't take him. He's that good. (I made a trade with the devil at 62. KC grabbed an OL, I think, and that's why Collins at 63 and the extra pick that turns into Teddye Buchanan.) 30. Malaki StarksS Georgia 56. Trey AmosCB Ole Miss 63. Alfred CollinsDT Texas 109. 16. I think eight days from the actual draft, the programs are just throwing some randomized non-sense out. Algorithms and AI and all that is not really prudential. Anyway, it's not much help in predictive gaming if it gives one highly unlikely possibilities, but fun nonetheless at some utterly trivial level. Here, the DT fell to 30 and the CB that probably gets taken at 30 in the real world shows up at 56. Then the other DT is still sitting there at 62. For Edge, I went with the hyphenated names strategy. 30. Derrick HarmonDT Oregon 56. Trey AmosCB Ole Miss 62. Kenneth GrantDT Michigan 109. Dont'e ThorntonWR Tennessee 132. 17. Love Starks, but you wait till 177 for CB? Impossible, and Frazier has a lot of wasted motion according to GunnerBill, I dunno. Anyway, I like a lot of the picks, but it's not plausible waiting that long for a corner. Also, no way Starks makes it to 30, alas. Tried to post my own draft and it merged the data. 30. 18. If Grant or Harmon are there at 30 (unlikely), I'm taking them and trading up from 56 for a corner.
  19. I agree with your sentiments, but you know the answer: the need at CB is dire, and folks think there's going to be a run on all the ones that rate above a day 3 pick before you get to 56. Further, everyone knows Beane needs to fill that hole, so teams will jump ahead of him if he stands pat. Also, they don't think DT is a difference maker like that. They think it's mostly a two-down run stuffer in a deep draft at the position, so they think you can wait.
  20. Damn, Sean will want him in the fourth.
  21. Correct, I think. I am preemptively annoyed. I'd like to be less annoyed on actual draft day, but probably in the end, this will make it worse.

  23. I've read some analysis that ranks Harris above where you're putting him. Injuries are a concern. I do think Royals is a fella that you'd legit consider if he were available. I voted for Thomas in the current poll. (I dunno, I guess Thomas isn't actually there now. Alright, I'm back on Harris if that's the list.) Probably your analysis is what I'm thinking of for Harris . . . I like him better than Coleman. I don't think he's just a slightly faster version, but I'm no expert.
  24. If there are no CBs worthy of a 2nd (and there aren't), it would be completely foolish to reach. Edit: I didn't realize Thomas was still there. I do think he's worth that pick. Tre Harris is the other fella to consider. The poll seems to recognize they are the best options.
