  1. Your point is taken. But it's weird how most love the fact that Whaley traded up for Watkins. Btw, I for on am still not so sure if this was a good move but can't say that I dislike it. That said, it would have been nice to move up a spot or 2, no? Did Miami move up for Tanneyhill? I think they did but I don't remember. I wish we made that trade.
  2. Very funny. Would you like me to say that he is as good as Revis? OK, sure he is. Want me to say that it was smart to draft him at 10 overall with no quarterback and issues on both lines? You got it...... It makes tons of sense to forego the qb position and both lines as long as there is a good corner floating around out there, especially with top 10 draft picks. Are we ok now?
  3. I respectfully disagree. When you draft a player at #9 overall you expect production. This does not mean that I think that he completely sucks. It means the IMO, drafting Spiller at 9 was an idiotic, inexcusable move.
  4. Careful, you are treading on sacred ground here.
  5. Then let me immediately apologize for my snide remark. Sorry about that. The problem is that many actually believe your joke. Thanks for this. It does leave open the possibility that he did not know the person was a cop. Tough call.
  6. Point well taken Darin but from where I sit, it's different when one attacks a cop. I don't expect others to necessarily agree mind you but even at that, it's a HUGE red flag. Jmo. Were you mistreated during your most recent arrest?
  7. Maybe so, but I would like to know more about the assault of a police officer.
  8. As much as EJ is discussed (both good and bad) on this board, the above could be the most disturbing part of his game. Most fans tend to look mainly at stats, especially those ready to defend EJ at any and all cost. It's a shame too, because the man does have all the physical attributes necessary to be an NFL quarterback.
  9. Sure KJ, there were worse players than Whitner. That said, look who went AFTER him and as I said, numerous trade offers were turned down. http://www.drafthistory.com/index.php/years/2006
  10. Donte Whitner. He cost the Bills approx. 36 million in true cap dollars and was all but worthless. To make things even worse, the 2006 draft was chock full of much better players, and Levy admitted that he had multiple offers to trade down. Levy/Jauron was the worst combo that I can ever recall, and the team suffered for many, many years due to their flat out idiocy.
  11. Why the hate for the cops? I doubt if they are Bills fans.
  12. The punch would probably be intercepted.
  13. Fantastic post! Having a qb who can run is a great thing. I heard a couple of old time NFL defensive linemen say that they would rather play against Joe Montana than Steve Young and remember being surprised. Players have many good things to say about Taylor. I am sure he will get a chance this season. When the Bills drafted EJ I was excited because I saw some you tube clips where he was running all over the field. On the Bills, when he ran I thought that he usually looked clumsy, lumbering, and indecisive. Because he is a young player I'll give him the indecisive. The other two are a concern imo. Every single year, fans deem the opener to be crucial. Well, I have fallen in this trap once again. If they can beat Luck, this team really can go places imo. But this of course is a big IF.
  14. Imo you were wrong about Schobel too. If he was not following Bruce Smith, more people would realize just how good he was. Anyway, I got you beat by a mile.....I looked at Rob Johnson's skillset and thought that he would be a great quarterback! He was big enough, could run, had a great arm, was accurate, and his passes were easy to catch. Can't miss, right? I learned from this and was never fooled by Losman. I knew right away that he was awful, and btw it hurts to see others make the same mistake wrt EJ.
  15. Idiots who ran this team built it around defensive backs and running backs. How did this work?
  16. Revis is great but he would have been an awful selection. The team had no blocking and no quarterback.
  17. He should probably just return kickoffs until he is broken in half.
  18. John the above are pretty big problems. How many great running backs were not instinctive? Even monsters like Earl Campbell and John Riggins seemed to know when to turn up field. And creating "space" for a runner looks great on paper, but few backs can always count on huge openings on almost every play, ala Emmit Smith. Does Spiller have talent? Yep. And RJ and Losman had very good arms and both could even run. There are just too many flaws in Spiller's game my friend. Too many for a team to be able to depend on him. Another wasted draft selection.
  19. Agreed. And as I have said many times, don't forget that we traded DOWN when we selected EJ. This strongly indicates that they were ready to "lose" him and had another qb rated about as high. You just don't trade down if a player you think is your franchise quarterback is on the board. It doesn't happen, or so I think.
  20. Oh absolutely!!! Trust me, I am not down for the Bills having a need at corner.
  21. I respectfully, but strongly disagree. McKelvin's biggest asset is his speed. The man is greased lightening. When he first came to Buffalo and returned a couple of kicks to the house, I thought he could be an all time great returner. Goodwin is even faster but I digress. I liken Leodis to a cornerback version of Lee Evans. Take away the blinding speed and there might not be enough left to carry him at the starting corner level. An example of an athletic corner on the Bills would be Nate Clements. He was a freak athlete who did summersaults after some plays, and he was big. Unless he had injuries that I didn't know about I think that he may not have had the heart for football but again, I digress. In summary, I think Leodis is going to have problems if he loses that half step of speed that elevates his play. Jmo.
  22. The only place where I disagree is bolded. The 2006 draft was unspeakably bad and sunk this team for many, many years, just as we said it would. They actually traded away an early pick to select garbage players in this draft which was chock full of talent at key positions. People will point to Kyle Williams in the 5th too, and that's ok. He WAS a great selection but it wasn't enough to cover the hole that they dug for the team and the fans in the first 4 rounds. It was just plain ugly and I still cannot understand this kind of idiocy 9 years later.
  23. Even if she said that EJ is a great quarterback?
  24. Buffalo Bills University of Alabama Crimson Tide
  25. In turnovers and missed blocks?
