Tim Kawakami tweet re: NFL fans
Bill from NYC replied to BillsVet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So true BV. Posters continue to praise Whaley for getting rid of Byrd and Spiller, but the truth is that he offered contracts to both of these lousy players. This team really is bad enough. Can you imagine just how awful it would be if Whaley would have got his wish and signed both, or even one of them? -
Cap Casualties and Defensive Free Agents 3 Jets?
Bill from NYC replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow! I for one cannot see how Jarred Allen or A'Shaun Robinson can fail. Allen is 6'3/313 and can get to the qb. Robinson is 6'3/312, and is like a brick wall. Let me put it like this: John Miller would probably be hospitalized after a game against Robinson. Also, I think that MLB Reggie Ragland is good in coverage and VERY good against the run. He is however harder to rate because he plays behind a DL unit which probably has 4 or 5 future NFL players. I kid you not. -
This is probably double what he will gain in the rest of his short career.

Yolo, although some of the same players were there, it is (in my strong opinion) not an accurate comparison between those two Crimson Tide teams. This team might have the best front 7 I have ever seen, and I am going back a lot of years. They are deep and great. The Tide offense has some standout players but they are not even close to the team that beat Notre Dame a few years ago. The defense is clearly superior, especially up front. It's going to be tough for Clemson to move the football without getting pummeled. It might happen too, but I wouldn't bet on it.

He only did that when the Bills were trying to kill the clock before the half.

Crystal Ball: Top Prospects for 2016 NFL Draft
Bill from NYC replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I couldn't find a link. What a jerk off! I really thought the kid had a much better shot at being a good qb in the NFL than most seem to believe. He truly set himself back, and if he is guilty I hope he goes to jail for a stretch. -
Which NCAA HC could succeed as an NFL HC?
Bill from NYC replied to DisplacedBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Did he really bomb? The team went 1-15 after he left, no? And again, they wouldn't give him Brees. They gave him Culpepper who sucked and Saban actually cut. Coach Saban has a tree full of top coaches who bought/buy into his program. He would build a staff and win because that's what he does. He builds programs and wins football games. People on this thread are talking about Dantonio. I am not saying he isn't good. I know little about him other than Saban was his boss. -
Donahoe to run the eagles?

:) I don't know. Maybe they are hanging around with the 350 lb. left tackles with a chronic ankle injury! -
[closed]Im sick of watching tyrod
Bill from NYC replied to enlightener's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
@OP: I suggest you get used to Tyrod. I could very easily be wrong but imo you are watching the future of the game. How many pure passers are you seeing in college now? Few indeed. In the NFL, there are still handful of qbs who don't rely much on mobility, and those guys are either old or getting there. Now, maybe Winston will be a great pocket passer. Luck IS great imo and even he must rely quite a bit on his ability to run. I think a quarterback that isn't talked about much who will do very well in this league is Trevone Boykin. It is, and always has been hard to stop guys like Tyrod and Trevone. I heard a couple of NFL defenders say that it was worse to play against Steve Young than Montana because Young could do so much with his legs. The thing is that in those days (before the rule changes) players would all but try to assassinate quarterbacks. Anyway, your opinion of Tyrod may change. I for one think the kid is pretty good. -
The reason the above HAS to be true is clear: Touchdowns. McCoy Rushing: 203 Att./895 Yds./3 TDs Receiving: 32 rec./292yds/2 TDs Karlos Rushing: 87 Att./493 yds./6 TDs Receiving: 8 rec./93 yds./2 TDs Karlos scores points.

Same here. I hope Whaley doesn't trade away our picks! -
Deactivate Mario??
Bill from NYC replied to Bleeding Bills Blue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Rex didn't have so much guaranteed money it would have made sense to fire him weeks ago. Let's face it: His defense sucks despite the talent. His team is completely confused. Players are complaining. He is a distraction. He has no clock management skills. Does this excuse Mario? No, but I agree with you. The situations are close in terms of importance. What we have are two millionaires who either can't or won't do their jobs. You did a fine job of "making your point" as far as I am concerned. -

Deactivate Mario??
Bill from NYC replied to Bleeding Bills Blue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kelsay also provided SOME pressure (even though he was almost always 1 step too late). Talent was his problem, not lack of effort. Hey, watching Mario makes me sick, but I will never think it is ok to bring a weak, Jauron type defense to a tough, blue collar town such as Buffalo. -
Deactivate Mario??

You make some good points and I wish we were having this conversation I person. Brother, the 2013 and 2014 teams didn't have the offense we now have. There was no Tyrod. We had Orton and yes, EJ Manuel. We didn't have Shady or my man Karlos. We had CJ Spiller. This matters to GG. Did we have less TOP? Was the defense under more pressure? Were those schedules tougher? My point is that while Spikes surely was a factor, Rex is killing us. Hey, jmo. Btw, if you are really all that concerned about MLB, watch or tape the Crimson Tide on 12/31, and keep your eye on #19, Reggie Ragland. Also check out Reuben Foster. These are monster linebackers. Flat out monsters. -
Deactivate Mario??
Bill from NYC replied to Bleeding Bills Blue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Losing Spikes matters, but if he is SO great, if he is THAT much of a superstar, where is he now? Why didn't he catch on somewhere? Having players like Dareus, etc. in pass coverage is the football equivalent of asking Babe Ruth to bunt on a consistent basis. Rex is the main problem on this team, not losing Spikes. Jmo. -
Deactivate Mario??

Did you read the entire post you answered? Or, are you trying to make some abstract point, or win a non-existent argument? Post #61 explains things pretty well imo. -
Deactivate Mario??
Bill from NYC replied to Bleeding Bills Blue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sometimes even when he doesn't drop back, he is merely holding his ground. He doesn't pursue the quarterback in this stupid defense. Once in a while he jumps, as if to block a pass. You do see this, no? I cannot understand how a fan could not be outraged. Would people think it was normal if Richard Dent was covering receivers? Or Bruce Smith? The situation is freaky and has destroyed this team. PS: I do believe that he is dogging it. But Pegula will save 12 million if he is cut. It will cost more than 20 mil. to get rid of the biggest cause of failure, which is Rex. -
Report: Peyton Manning linked to HGH, doping ring
Bill from NYC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I belong to a "normal" gym and I think that a high percentage of the people in there are juicing. When I was much younger, I used to do 20 clean marine pull-ups. I am talking all the way down. I have long arms so this and the bench were harder for me. The other day, I saw a guy doing SETS of 20 marine pull-ups with (2) 45 pound plates attached to his waist. I didn't count the sets but he did more than 6 or 7. He might have done 10. Then, he started lifting weights. Is this normal? Can one do this without enhancements? I never really believed that NFL players were not juicing. I looked up Mario Williams's combine numbers. The man did 35 reps with 225. I realize that these are some of the strongest men on earth but given his frame, this would not seem possible. And, I watched Cornelius Bennett in college (yes, sadly I am that old). He absolutely did NOT look anything like he did on the Bills, where his neck looked like a tree trunk. In my very uneducated opinion, NFL owners do want players to juice. They also have to pretend to be against it because of getting sued. There is WAY too much money at stake.
