  1. Yeah, Philbin is going to be fired. I think that he wants to be. During the week, he made some comments alluding to the fact that they neglected the OL in the draft. You know the GM isn't happy. That said, I'll take a divisional win! We've had lots of problems, including our OL being neglected for many years. I have little to no sympathy for the Phish.
  2. Absolutely. I almost never trust any lead when the Bills are playing. This game was different. Btw, it was a classy move to throw in EJ at the end. After all, he went to college down in Florida and probably had some people at the game. And speaking of EJ, he was helping out on the sidelines and not sulking. He's a good kid.
  3. I for one cannot see removing Darby from the field as long as he plays to this level.
  4. 1) On the last play of the 1st quarter, Clay threw a perfect block for Karlos. Clay played a great, complete game today. As I have said, a good TE is a young qb's best friend. 2) Listen, Gay is worth a roster spot. He gave us great field position, and things like this truly do matter. 3) Preston Brown hits like a truck, and it is simply great to have him on this football team. 4) There's mosquitoes on the river. Fish are rising up like birds. It's been hot for seven weeks now, Too hot to even speak now. Did you hear what I just heard? Say, it might have been a fiddle, Or it could have been the wind. But there seems to be a beat, now. I can feel it in my feet, now. Listen here it comes again!!!! 5) Do you see what happens when we blitz up the middle? This set up the Brown pick/TD. This is what football is supposed to look like when a team has a talented defense. 6) Great game by Harvin today, to include a very clutch first down with approx. 4 minutes left in the 1st qtr. 7) I want to send out some props to Gilmore. Lord knows I blasted him when I saw fit but today he was fantastic. 8) Karlos Williams is exactly the type of running back this team needed. I mean seriously, who would you rather have, Fred and Spiller or Shady and Karlos? Case closed. 9) Speaking of corners, Darby is playing as well as any rookie I can remember since the rule changes. It would be perfect if Rambo would stop kicking his ass. 10) Glenn continues to be a huge concern imo. He was far from dominant, and even appeared to be just standing around on some plays. I don't get it. 11) Tyrod is the man!!!! The pass to Sammy was picture perfect and what I loved about it was that he didn't have to step into the throw. The kid has an arm, is smart, and is the fastest qb in the NFL. There is nothing not to like and maybe the talk about switching starters will finally stop, no? 12) Very good game from Incognito. It's nice to have a left guard! 13) Time to come home and beat up the Giants! 14) GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. You will be fine if you don't drink until game time. :) :)
  6. Agreed. One would think that I would have picked the OL. This would have been my second choice, but a few sacks and takeaways would go far to shorten the field for Tyrod. Time for the DL to start really earning the big bucks.
  7. How did you feel about Dareus and Hughes dropping into pass coverage? Imo, this takes away from Mario. He holds his side as well as anyone and I think he is at his best when there is rush up the middle and the qb is forced to his side. This is when he truly levels people and changes the game. The whole thing sickened me and reminded me of Jauron sending Schobel into coverage. I never, ever expected to see something this piss poor from Rex.
  8. Agreed. In fact I feel better about a win over a conference opponent.
  9. Yeah John, I am not getting why people are upset wrt Tyrod. As I said, I would like to see him on a few more called running plays. I get the risk, but it might also make his job easier by forcing defenses to account for this.
  10. There is no way to pin this loss on Gilmore. The defensive plan was an abject failure. I'm surprised that they didn't have Mario run out and cover Edelman. And I have no idea what the story is with Glenn.
  11. 1) I try to keep personalities out of this, but I think that Edelman turns my stomach even more than Brady. 2) My prayers go out to Aaron Williams, and it was great to see the team praying for him. 3) The special teams coach lost control of his players early on and it really hurt us. That said, Rex deserves blame as well. More on Rex to come. 4) I know he gave up some passes, but Darby impressed me today once again. The 36 yard td to Gronk in the 1st quarter was a simply great pass. The coverage was spot on and there seemed to be little chance to complete that throw. It was just perfect. 5) Cordy Glenn was beyond awful today and he was pissing me off. He looked out of shape, lethargic and generally indifferent as to what was happening on the field. 6) I want to toss out some kudos to Felton. As Tyrod was rolling out on the 2nd quarter td pass to Clay, Felton held off a defender to give TT room and time to make the play. 7) How did it happen? How did Rex Ryan suddenly morph into Dick Jauron? Look, we don't have great coverage linebackers. Bradham is a pass rusher (and a good one), and Brown is a top run stuffer. Putting them in the secondary didn't work. And please remind me why we gave Hughes millions of dollars. Never mind, I remember...because he is a pass rusher!!!!! Today Rex reminded me of Dumbo Jauron sending Schobel out on coverage. We had the crowd noise and should have sent the kitchen sink after Brady! 8) It all rolls into one, and nothing comes for free. There's nothing you can hold, for very long. And when you hear that song, come crying like the wind, it seems like all this life, was just a dream. Stella Blue 9) Gotta love Tyrod, no? The kid can truly get out of trouble and he has a nice spin on his passes. He never never quit. I know it's risky but I want to see him on more called running plays. It will loosen up opposing defenses. 10) Speaking of out of control, even Bradham got lured in. Edelman got in his face and he shoved the little runt pretty hard. I was waiting for a flag but I suppose the refs didn't see it. We can't have this. We lost too much field position today with unnecessary penalties. 11) Percy Harvin has a ton of talent, but in the 3rd quarter he short armed that long sideline pass. Hey, he would have got hammered but he could have caught it and didn't extend his arms. Please watch the replay and see if you disagree. 12) Is there any such thing as a perfect opening drive? The Bill mixed things up, beat them up, and ate 5 minutes of the clock. 13) Is anyone still concerned about Watkins and his numbers? If this kid stays healthy he will make plays. Period. 14) Bottom line is that Rex has to take control and straighten things out. It looks like he has a lot to work with. 15) GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. >>>>>“I’m his coach,” Lal said of Watkins. “I was very critical on the film” review. “He ran some very good routes and was open quite a bit. The lay person might say, ‘Oh, Vontae shut him down.’ Well, that’s not the case. Now their scheme was very good to not so much take him out of the game, but make it harder to throw over there. And when so much was open on the other side, we were like, ‘Why should we?’ Because our big thing with Rex and” offensive coordinator “Greg” Roman “is we want to play smart football, and smart football was just taking what they give us. But he ran some really good routes.<<<<< Not enough attention is being paid to the above. This may startle some but so be it: The Indy game might very well wind up being as important as the NE game on Sunday. We have no idea what NE will do this year. They could tank, or I hate to say it.....run the table. Tyrod is an inexperienced qb. The coaches made the right calls. I can tell because we won the football game against a highly ranked conference rival. I am sure that the above quoted coach and Roman are well aware of egos, etc. and will address this down the road. Now, none of the fantasy nonsense matters. This team needs to keep up the effort and win football games. Bottom line? GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Oh yeah, he IS good, but he's a rank amateur compared to "Hogboy."
  14. Me too BBF. I hated the trade at the time but I no longer do, not that I love it mind you. My opinion? The kid is a super talent and the lack of production is probably due to injuries. I am guessing that he was acting as mostly a decoy vs. the Colts. I cannot think of another reason not to use someone with his obvious talent, can you?
  15. I envy any fan who was able to sit there thinking that the game was over at 24-8. I would have been furious if they blew that lead. Shocked? Sorry, no. But I am thinking that things are getting a lot better.
  16. ^ This. On Sunday in the late 3rd quarter, my girlfriend was cheering and telling me that 'the game was over." I looked at her as if she was insane. Listen, we have not made the playoffs in 15 years. What are we supposed to do? Come here and write about how good everything has been? If everybody posted starry eyed things and blasted each and every critical article (or yes, post) written about us, would this site be interesting? I for one think not. BADOL is correct. This team is stacked with talented players. We just beat a good team with a great quarterback, this without Dareus, and no numbers from Watkins or even Mario! We now have a chance to be good and even make the playoffs. When and if this happens, the mindset here will change. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. I hear ya!!! Look at what happened to the Giants last night, and even to Pete Carroll in the super bowl. Running out the clock might not look glorious, but the idea is to WIN football games. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. I think that the secondary caught some breaks because Luck had to get the ball away earlier than he would have liked to, especially on the play where nobody blocked Mario. Luck is a great qb. He will dominate this season. And we beat him!!!!!!!!! :)
  19. Thanks LGOTB! I have been saving that particular lyric. I had it ready as of last night. Yes, I have issues. I really hope that the Bills do not rest on their laurels and leave that to us, their loyal fanatical fans. They actually CAN improve and I hope they do, enough to smash Brady into defeat!!!!!
  20. 1) Big time props to Preston Brown. Did you see that pass defense with 1 minute left in the 3rd quarter? This from a player who is thought of as primarily a run defender. The Colts had to waste a timeout after the play. This matters, and count me in as a huge fan of this kid. 2) Big time shout out to our kickers and special teams. They made a difference in a huge way. Carpenter came through despite the concerns. Dontcha love it?! 3) I dedicate this post and this game to the Bills Fan who took his own life at RWS last night. I wish he could have seen this, and pray that he did. 4) Gilmore played the best game of his career imo. He was all over his man and was able to get his hand in numerous times. It was just freaking great to see. 5) The OL needs to improve. Glenn had 2 holds and I wanted to see bigger holes on running plays. 6) Let's focus on Tyrod for a moment. This kid, in his first NFL start, took over the game, and he did so against ANDREW LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!! He was poised, smart, and accurate. Call me insane, but I think that my favorite play was the one where he was calm enough to bat down the deflected pass. A mistake could have cost us a touchdown and yes, the game. Wait until he REALLY takes off and runs! His potential has few limits. 7) Goddamn, well I declare, Have you seen the like? Their walls are built of cannonballs, their motto is Don't Tread on Me!!!!!! Come... hear, Uncle John's Band, by the riverside. Got some things to talk about, here, beside the rising tide. 8) Neither Corbin Bryant nor Kyle Williams showed up that much in the stats today. That said, they both did their jobs!!!!! Kyle provided pressure and looked fresh. Bryant moved well and was in on quite a few tackles. When Marcel comes back, this is going to be fun to watch! 9) Nickell Robey is a winner. Period. 10) Percy Harvin is a mismatch with two legs. If he can keep his head on straight, he can win us football games. 11) Sack totals notwithstanding, I am 100% thrilled that Rex blitzed all day. It took pressure off the secondary and enabled them to make plays. 12) Are we still worried about Darby? This was probably one of the best games ever played by a rookie corner in his first game in the post rule change era. 13) I have a feeling that we will be seeing a lot of Karlos Williams. We need someone to compliment McCoy with that downhill style. 14) I'm proud to be a member of this community. We truly do deserve days like this. 15) GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. 34-13 Bills 100+ yds. rushing for TT. A pick six from Gilmore seals the game.
  22. I agree RH. I can't get too giddy about a GM who tried hard to re-sign Byrd and Spiller. I don't hate the trade for Watkins any more but it's not a done deal yet. He is in a great situation. He's got a very rich owner and a rabid, LOYAL fanbase. I WANT to like Whaley and think that doing so is a strong possibility. He is somewhat new at this and has room to grow, learn and improve. I have not been optimistic about a given season in a very long time. Now, I am biting at the bit for kickoff, and predict a win. Whaley deserves some credit for this. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!34-13!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. Please don't take offense, but I'm wondering whether or not we both have issues. :)
