Deflate-gate investigation complete
Fan in Chicago replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Or Garoppolo plays like the second coming of Brady who never gets his starting job back, gets traded for a first and the Pats* dominance extends to another 10 years. -
Rex: we won't put a "muzzle" on our players
Fan in Chicago replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am not entirely on board with this philosophy. There are many things that are best kept behind closed doors. I am sure players like certain other players (remember how Evans liked Losman) but I do not want those preferences stated in public. Players may dislike their role but it is best expressed and sorted out with the coaches and fellow team members. There needs to be quite a measure of control on the opinions that are expressed in public versus in private to the coaches. -

Deflate-gate investigation complete

Not sure what point you are making but the same argument can be made by any number of sportsmen caught for cheating. If they truly believed they were better than everyone else, why do it ? We have no idea of the impact of properly inflated balls would have on their playoff game. Were there other games in which they used this or other tricks to enhance their chance of success ? It is entirely conceivable that one or more games lost without said advantage could have changed the course of the playoffs and the Superbowl. It has now been proven time and time again that the Pats* will stretch the rule book or even try to see what they can get away with, just to gain advantage. Pretty much what every cheating sportsman did. -
The Bickering Bills are Back!! **Rumor**
Fan in Chicago replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To be fair, your put 'rumor' prominently in the title. However, if you were secretly auditioning for a job at said networks, my apologies. -
RD 2, Pick 50: DB Ronald Darby, Florida State
Fan in Chicago replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Couple of points. We are truly stacked only at the WR and RB positions. Any other position was fair game. Secondly, Ryan's scheme depends a lot on DBs so we should have seen this coming. I cannot speak to how good or bad Darby is, but this I believe is the logic which led to picking this position. IMHO, Rd 3 will be a QB or OL. -
As long as we dont pick a RB or WR at #50, I am happy

Latest draft trade rumor Phil-Cleveland-Tenn
Fan in Chicago replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is all great and fun, but what if, after all this, the Bucs change their mind and take Mariota? Will Chip be equally happy with Winston? -
Completely agree. This decision dropped Brady in my eyes even more than before. And seeing all the comments below that article indicate he has fine company in this great nation of ours. As states above, it is immaterial which party he/she belongs too.

Yep. -Undrafted rookie to play on ST and as TE - Converted to tackle (RT) where he did well, was paid as a tackle - Replaced Gandy at LT and did well - Sulked in following year and held out of TC. Eventually played the season and gave up a lot of sacks - Sulked again during TC and refused some Bills offer (not sure what it was exactly) and was traded This has been debated ad nauseum on this board but I hated him for dogging that last year with the Bills because he was unhappy. IMO, his bad behavior should not have been rewarded by giving into this demands for a ~$10 MM/yr contract. There was also no way to know if he would pout again in a couple of years. At the time the decision was made by the Bills, I was supportive of it as he was a malcontent with a bad attitude.

I watched it a couple of times and came away with a 'meh'. I have no idea what that trailer communicated about the tone of the movie or the villains. Way too much voice-over build-up in the first 1 minute. Instead of concentrating on Superman's status in shadow, they should have shown some more action, hint at the plot, something. All we saw were some borderline still shots of Affleck and Cavill with some hero vs hero action. Just didn't get me excited.

Sammy about EJ: "That's my guy"
Fan in Chicago replied to scribo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well said. I have JP flashbacks who also was a good guy but terrible QB. On some level, I wonder if some posters are more afraid of being wrong than the team losing. -

Depends if he was or not responding to a question. Otherwise, There was no reason for him to say anything at all unless he felt strongly about it -
Kromer: All 5 spots on OL are open to competition

I think we also need someone credible who can play center. As backup to Wood. -
Thanx. I was thinking about a smaller tree, maybe no more than 30' tall From what I have read, now is the right time here.

EJ worked out with former NFL QB Steve DeBerg
Fan in Chicago replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The reasons for the sideline argument are not known and so are subject to the spin on either side of the argument. In effect, holds little merit. No one owes anything to Leroi. And definitely not an apology. -

I am pretty sure Whaley hired Orton to be a backup. And considering Orton's career to that point, it was not a bad decision. Also, before you bring up money, Whaley had to pay up as there were few other backup options available at the time. -
Last year, I had to get rid of an Ash tree in my front yard cos of the Emerald ash borer problem. Need to replace it. Something that doesn't 'shed' and not too large. Suggestions for trees and how to plant ? Seems like my neighbors are getting them for $500-$600 a piece which sounds exorbitant

A Clue to "Never Give Up"'s Identity Perhaps?

First of all great find. Coupled with Nosaints check up on his posting history, this seems to make sense. I wonder if a similar poster registered on the fan pages of the Titans, Texans message board in the subsequent years. -
