  1. Posturing. If he came out and told them he's eager and will sign right now, it gives the Bills the upper hand. He's a RB. Don't really need him to be in at start of camp as much as a DL guy. Now, if it's opening day and he's not signed....then I'd worry.
  2. When we were young, we would split up at the registers so no one would know what we were up to. Of course we would get through the register, then congregate at the entrance... all of us with our TP. Yep, fooled them again! As for the Blackhawks coach, I thought I heard it was actually friends of his that did it.
  3. Doesn't really say too much about the player. He was productive, actually our best DE, by default. Can't really remember him getting that many game changing sacks. His sacks usually came in bunches at times they did not really matter.
  4. Both my brother and I have the slingbox. He originally bought one to have at my house to watch the Bills. Had to give it back in the offseason, and could not live without it. It is an awesome product. I watch his from Maryland, and the picture is pretty good, which you can tweak the quality by adding bandwidth to it. I can also watch it from any computer in the house, along with my iPod touch. The iPod actually works great and the controls are pretty decent. Their is some lag on all devices, but no big deal. I have the Slingbox solo so don't know how good the HD picture is. It is incredibly easy to setup and easy to use. Great product.
  5. I got the Ticket a few years ago, when it was around the low 2's. Thought it was great. Don't think I can justify $300 at all. I just don't have the time to sit every Sunday watching a 1 pm and 4 pm and 8 pm game. I barely get time to watch the Bills game. Just an FYI. I recently switched to Time-Warner...for a week and came back to DTV. My parents have Dish, and IMHO DTV is much better than both of them..especially once you had DTV. It is cheaper than cable, but don't know about Dish. Good luck.
  6. Yep, just wins. Orton isn't the best QB in the league, but would be an upgrade over all our guys but Brohm. I say give Brohm a real shot and see what he does before we trade for another QB (unless it's one of the Mannings). Not saying Brohm is going to be a great, or even serviceable, NFL QB but I'd like to see what he can do. As for Orton, always liked the guy. Just seems to win.
  7. I know it's not live football, but Spiller sure does seem quick, catch the ball well, and have some nice cuts. Can't wait to see him in some live 11 on 11 action!
  8. Yes, he does seem to be a step above, but he still plays by GR's rules which is a shame.
  9. I wouldn't call Simon a jackass, but he isn't anywhere near what he used to be when he was at Empire Sports Network. He was informative, funny, knowledgeable and carried himself very well. Now on the morning show, and it's not entirely his fault, he has become the opposite of what he was. Now he sounds as if he doesn't know what he is talking about and provides very little actual information. Simon and White are just set up to have opposite opinions about whatever the BS topic of the day is to provide "stimulating" conversation...basically nothing to say about nothing. I'm sure he's a nice guy and it's not entirely his fault, just as Bulldog used to be very good prior to WGR, it's the stations business model. As for Schopp, he is a jackass.
  10. The most telling part is the letterhead. Our claim to fame is 2 AFL champs, and the 4 superbowl logo's? What have the Bills done since then?
  11. You had me until the penalty part. Sorry, no way Goodell, a lawyer, would EVER send that out in a memo. You think the poop-storm would be bad if Washington was signed? Imagine if the press got a hold of that memo, Sharpton would be so far up Goodell's butt he'd know what he had for breakfast a year ago. Washington will probably get a shot at the NFL someday. He'll probably need to go to the CFL for a few years, do well and not get in any trouble. Then he'll just be signed by some club when all this dies down.
  12. Our new left tackle maybe??
  13. Bills won't be picking #1. I see them winning no more than 4 to 5 games, but the Raiders, Rams, Chiefs and Buc's are worse. Even after the draft.
  14. Not rape? Sex with a minor is STATUTORY RAPE Acting cowardly? Seriously. This guy was 16 years old. I have an 11 year old daughter and 13 year old son, both of which understand that sex with each other is WRONG! I can't stand hearing "he was only 16". I've met many 16 year old kids who quite frankly exhibit more maturity than some adults I've come across in my life. The man has questionable moral character and every NFL team has the right to not hire this man. What if you found out the guy in the cubicle next to you had sex with his sister at 16?? I dare anyone to not want to vomit when they hear this for the first time. Imagine this scenario. A registered sex offender moves into your neighborhood, and you have a daughter who is 15 years old. Let's say this guy works a minimum wage job. Now you come to find out he is trying to buy the house next to you. DON'T tell me for a second that most of you would not have a HUGE problem with this. Just because the guy is a potential stud athlete, he gets a flier on the despicable act he admits to doing?? Just like Rapelisberger, Vick, Little and so many other professional athletes who have commited crimes but because they are "STAR" athletes they can get away with it and deserve a "second chance". No. But just because this guy says he's sorry and won't do it again doesn't mean he won't. Heck, even Charles Manson says he's a reformed man, so can he move next door to you?
  15. Nick, Thanks for asking our opinion. What do I want? 1. I want a radio host who actually will let the fans drive the show a bit. I understand that you, the host, needs to be prepared to talk for 3 to 4 hours and hence needs a subject to hopefully incite enough passion from the listener to call in. But it would be nice to allow the listeners to be able to talk about whatever subject they want...even if it is the NBA. 2. When you do pick a topic, it's OK for the listener to agree. Or for that matter, another host or guest on the show. Nothing worse than pre-manufactured dis- agreements between hosts, or purposely picking the opposite opinion from what the listeners have. Happens at the old station a lot IMHO (see afternoons). Nothing worse than than listening to talk show host who forces their opinion on the public, and is driven to change the callers mind instead of allowing for the others opinion (see Tom B.) Their are two sides (and maybe more) to every topic and it can only help, not hurt, to present them all. I respect others opinions and heck may even learn something new by listening to them. 3. As for what do I want to hear on the show. Basically local sports talk as if you were hanging out at a bar with some friends and shooting the breeze. It needs to be informative with insight someone who is an insider can bring. Also quality guests. Good luck with the new gig and am looking forward to listening.
  16. Immediately the best QB on the team? If that's true, how sad. As much nice stuff being said about him, just can't see a 7th round pick from a small school being the franchise savior. Hope I'm proved wrong as I don't like any of our guys ('cept maybe Brohm). Also, funny thread
  17. What do we get for him? 5th next year? Player? Would have liked to use him to have moved up or added a pick this year. Not to say the Bills did not try.
  18. Someone people will hate
  19. No. I really believe they get an undrafted FA and go with the 3 guys they have. Again, I can't get past the fact Thigpen and Fiedler had their best years under Gailey. I hated how Edwards has been playing as of late, but he did have a pretty year recently. Not saying I want him, but just sayin. I do believe the Bills will give Brohm every chance over Trent and Fitz, hopefully rightfully so.
  20. I like Brandt, and if he says that makes me think it's a good pick.
  21. That is funny! And by the way, if either have a problem with stamina, we have Levitre!
  22. Depends if it's quantity versus quality. Quantity and it's Miller Lite, quality and it's a nice growler of Pale Ale.
  23. I thought we had a pretty decent draft last year. So if this years is like last year, then great. Wood, Byrd, Levitre, Nic Harris, Nelson and we'll see him as OLB this year Maybin.
