  1. If Nix knows that the Rams want too much, that would mean the Bills were one of the teams interested in trading up for Griffin. Not sure how this thread devolved into a discussion of CB's, but Bills interest in Griffin is certainly big news to me.
  2. A 1st and 2nd this year plus a 1st and 3rd next year, plus Spiller or Williams is probably what it would take to get Griffin. I'd guess St. Louis would prefer not trading Griffin to a team in their own conference unless the compensation is way better than other offers. Manning will probably go to the Skins or Dolphins so that eliminates one Griffin contender.
  3. Who is gonna pay huge money to a guy who's known as much if not more for his antics than his on-field play? Bills know him best. Hard to think a team that doesn't know him as well is gonna take that chance. The guy made the league minimum his 1st 4 years. Doubt he's gonna turn down $9 million to hold out and hope someone gives up draft compensation and a lucrative long-term contract.
  4. Nix seems like a pretty straight shooter. I'm sure they'll try to keep Johnson for the right price. Not sure what the franchise tag is WR's, but that might be the best route to go with Johnson. Make him prove he can produce another year and be antic-free before committing long-term money.
  5. Pass Rusher QB WR/TE
  6. Lee might be a good guy, but that play unfortunately displayed his Charmin softness. Great deep ball receiver but afraid of contact. Just glad I don't have to hear all the excuses for why isn't more productive as a Bill.
  7. Stevie is a nice possession receiver. Cruz is in another league than Stevie. Reminds me of Moulds in his prime. Could make an argument that Cruz has been the MVP of the League the last 2 months
  8. Whitner is an immature clown. Knocks a guy out with a helmet-to-helmet hit. Ball is loose and guy is woozy on the ground, and Dante goes into dance flexing his muscles. He can thank Smith and Davis for not being the goat of that game. Decent player. Glad he's not a Bill.
  9. This guy was too good to even interview for the Bills job. Maybe his daddy can get him another job. Gotta imagine he gets no respect from the players with his little goatee, the way he acts and looks like a weasel, and the nepotism that has gotten him where he is.
  10. We'd probably have to be higher than #8 to have a realistic shot at a trade. Vick got traded for a #5 pick, a 2nd and 5th? the next year, and Tim Dwight. Manning got traded for a #4 pick, and 1st, 3rd and 5th the next year. Luck's price would most likely come at a premium to Manning and Vick, but it looks like 4 picks/players historically has been the going rate for #1 overall picks. So it would probably take a top 5 pick this year and maybe a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd next year. I'd do it if I were the Bills. I wouldn't move up from #8 if it required 6 draft picks all in the 1st 3 rounds.
  11. Bump this thread. Indy beats Jax next week and it will get very interesting. Not that unlikely that St. Louis or Minnesota would listen to trade offers for Luck.
  12. Like David Carr, neither guy can anticipate throws. They can only throw to open receivers. If you cover the quick slant off play-action, Sanchez is horrible. After that, all he can do is throw lobs to Burress.
  13. If Cleveland and Philly win today, we could be in the cat-bird seat for the #5 pick. Tampa and Carolina play each other next week. Washington has Minnesota at home next week. Don't think we'll be able to catch Jax but they have Indy at home the final week so even pick #4 is realistically in play.
  14. No chance of playoffs, only chance to screw draft position and chance at one of top QB's. Bills will win.
  15. If selling the farm means trading picks that end up being Spiller, Troup, Maybin or a bunch of other guys that aren't successful here, I'll gladly do it. 2004 was the classic example. We didn't want to give up enough to move ahead of Pittsburgh and take Roethlisberger, who would have been the perfect QB for Buffalo. Who did those picks we cherished so much net us?
  16. WIth Ralph at the helm, we are a joke of a franchise. Not arguing about the difficulty in finding a franchise QB, but it is the only thing that can compensate for how poorly this organization is run.
  17. Only hope is to keep sucking and hope Barkley or Griffin fall to us and become the next great QB. Any other pick besides QB is just another year of polishing the turd that is this franchise.
  18. Taking Troup over Gronkowski is another in a long line of draft miscues. But Gronkowski would probably find a way to suck if we were on the Bills. This organization is that bad. As long as Ralph is the owner, we should do everything possible to get a franchise QB. That is the only thing that will compensate for how Ralph runs things.
  19. Wilson is a horrible owner. Only argument people can make in his defense is that he kept the team here. What a guy... he's only made millions every year and seen his $25k investment appreciate to over $700m keeping the Bills in Buffalo. And he never has to put a winner on the field because everyone is afraid of losing the team. I'd say Wilson's got about the best gig going. I've seen enough to conclude we will never be serious contenders when the goal of 95% of the other team's is to win a Super Bowl, and the goal of our team is to have a nice profit margin.
  20. That says it all. There are no excuses for not competing in the NFL except for Ralph's greed and incompetence. I know these guys make a lot of money, but playing for the Bills organization has to be extremely demoralizing. In the end, guys like Spiller and Maybin are in the their young 20's, have enough money never to work again, and are expected to put their bodies on the line for an organization that half-asses everything.
  21. Didn't like how Peters handled his exit out of town, but hard to blame players for wanting to play elsewhere. Players bust their butts and put their bodies on the line. Unless you're a paycheck player, who'd want to play for an organization that's main focus isn't about winning championships?
  22. The guy is clearly playing like he doesn't want to be here. We'd probably be doing him a favor by cutting him. Amazing to me the lack of character/pride in some guys. He gets paid $3-4m per year to play football. Instead of moping on the field, do what the coach tells you to do and earn your paycheck.
  23. The offense was bad, but the defense didn't give us a chance the last 2 games. Getting down big that early basically takes Freddy out of the game. He is our best player and should have gotten a raise before Fitzpatrick.
  24. If I were Chan, I'd keep running routes across the middle to Brad Smith and Spiller. Dudes are charmin soft. Make them earn their pay-checks.
  25. Brad Smith needs to be cut yesterday. Guy is an f'in bum. Didn't even try to block the guy who came through to block the punt. Wish I could sulk my through $4m per year. Cut the f'in bum!!
