  1. I used to wonder why we didn't blitz more. Not anymore.
  2. Applaud your effort but not sure how you get around the $150m debt cap to purchase an NFL team. Your website mentions this, but that is a huge hurdle to overcome. Unsecured debt is probably a non-starter because why would Bills fans line some billionaire's pockets by giving him/her a below market loan.
  3. Not defending the play calling, but playing for a tie when you are 0-6 would make me more mad. Hope every game they play goes deep into over-time so some of these bums can earn their paychecks.
  4. Agreed. I assume he's not that far away from his degree as this is his 3rd year and scholarship football/basketball players usually take both summer sessions. You only have so many physically productive years to play football. He can always finish his degree over a couple summers and if he cares about football, his non-football professional career is 10+ years away regardless.
  5. If you don't have a franchise QB, Fitz is a nice baseline QB to have. Doesn't fool you into thinking you don't need a franchise QB, but good enough to evaluate the rest of the offense.
  6. Agreed. If that's what it takes to get Luck to enter, do it. Harbaugh would be an upgrade over Gailey and you get the franchise QB. If you're Harbaugh, there's only so much winning you can do at Stanford with their academic standards and he's probably close to that ceiling. Plus he gets the chance to coach a franchise QB whom he knows. If Kelsay is getting $6m per year, money shouldn't be an issue.
  7. Locker very well may have sub-par talent around him, but with a #1 overall pick especially if the Bills are picking it has to be as close to a sure thing as possible. I'll take the less risky Luck and if he doesn't come out, Dareus from Alabama looks like a sure-fire stud.
  8. I was thinking about that quote by Gailey about Ellis as well. Some things just don't add up. Either there are locker room things going on we don't know about, Gailey is bi-polar, or someone is forcing Gailey to make these moves.
  9. Moss is only under contract through this year. Evans has 2 years left after this one at a very reasonable number. So, yes I think 3 years of Evans at a relatively low price is worth more than Moss for a year.
  10. I'd also think this would make him more enticing to someone. However, Evans causes no problems and he's not preventing anyone who should be on the field from being on the field. Our rookie QB is gonna have to throw to somebody next year, so unless we get at least a 2nd rounder, I'd say no way to a trade.
  11. Trading Stroud makes a lot of sense. Might as well play McCargo some more and get Carrington some time too. If the Bills can get anything for Whitner, they should do it George Wilson was one of our best players last year and needs to get back on the field. Byrd seemed to play well along-side Wilson as well. Most disappointing thing so far for me is that the current regime didn't learn from last year that Edwards, Lynch, and Whitner were out-played by Fitz, Fred, and Wilson.
  12. I agree. Forget the draft picks for Lynch. GM's over-value them and Lynch is worth way more than a 4th round pick and probably even a 3rd round pick. At this point, I'd consider taking Hawk but would prefer Bulaga because our LB's are that bad. I'd also start dangling one of our safeties to the Colts. Not sure what they have on their roster that they'd part with, Polian isn't afraid to trade good draft picks. He was going to give us a 4th for McCargo.
  13. Not one for hyperbole, but the defense stinks. Can't play the run, can't play the pass, can't rush the passer.
  14. Bills' defense is not NFL-worthy. Huge holes for RB's and uncovered WR's are what you see in college mis-matches, not in an NFL game. Coordinator needs his pink slip.
  15. The most pathetic part is that our defensive line gets paid a lot of money. Stroud, Williams, Edwards, Johnson... these guys are all making lots of money. Stop handing out big contracts when the team stinks, and especially stop handing out good money to free agents. Until we get a QB and a pass rush, it is pointless to spend trying to build a 7-9 team.
  16. I agree about Fitz making it easier to evaluate the offensive talent, but comparing to 1986 is a stretch. That squad already had Kelly and Smith on the roster.
  17. I think similar to adequate QB play making it easier to identify what needs fixing in the offense, it is very hard to identify what the true defensive problems are when the pass rush is pathetic. NFL is a passing league more than ever, and with no pass rush the better QB's will carve you up and make everything look easy.
  18. I think the Bills job would be a lot more appealing to Harbaugh if he could coach his star pupil.
  19. Don't know how much of a factor not wanting to play in Buffalo will affect Luck's decision. But if he is the clear top talent at QB and the Bills have the #1 overall pick, the Bills would be fools not try and hire Harbaugh and make it a package deal to entice Luck to leave.
  20. I agree with this. Edwards looks exactly the same as last year. Gailey gets paid a lot of money and is supposed to be an offensive guru, yet 90% of the Bills fanbase knew Edwards didn't have what it takes on Sundays. At least he admitted his mistake, but we basically wasted the whole off-season.
  21. Don't like how he plays out of the shot-gun it looks like exclusively, but he looked very impressive on that last drive. That type of hostile environment where it looked like all the momentum was with Georgia. Mallett showed a lot. As Locker just throws a duck to Nebraska.
  22. Now is the time to trade Lynch. His value will decline further once the season is over when he is another year removed from being a featured back and teams have the draft and free agency to upgrade their running game.
  23. Maybe, but I'd still take a 3rd rounder for him. His value isn't going up when he is another year removed from being a featured back.
  24. Not confident about the Bills winning, but I actually think this will be a close game. Gailey seems to be capable of making proper adjustments, our secondary is our strength, Green Bay is coming off a nice road win and we are certainly an opponent that is easy to overlook right now.
  25. Our offense versus their defense didn't even look like a fair fight. They played so much more aggressive than we did and simply man-handled us. I'll leave the in-depth analysis to the experts, but sometimes the leadership and toughness has to come from someone out on the field.
