  1. Feel bad for him, but as far as the team goes, he hasn't been healthy enough for his absence to matter much.
  2. It is easier to change the QB than make changes at multiple positions on the O-Line. Gotta play the QB who gives you the best chance to win given the current situation.
  3. Agree with all of this. Will also add that if the Offensive Line remains this bad, Fitzpatrick gives us the better chance to win. Edwards got time to throw in the preseason. Didn't get much today.
  4. Edwards didn't look good, but we couldn't run the ball either. Offensive line got manhandled, and Miami knew all of our tendencies. Chan also gets his first taste of what Trent looks like in less than ideal weather conditions.
  5. Luck has unbelievable potential. Size, intangibles, speed/mobility, arm strength, touch... only weakness I see right now is he needs to work on his accuracy. Unfortunately for the Bills, Luck would be well served staying at least another year. Not a huge Locker fan. Great athlete, but don't think he will ever be a great passer.
  6. I'd be very surprised if we don't pick up at least one Tight End. There's a reason Foschii and that other guy weren't on anyone's 80 man roster as of last week.
  7. Without a pass rush, it is hard to argue with the predictions. 3rd down will be this team's downfall. Someone needs to beg Schobel out of retirement. Pay him a couple million dollars to replace Maybin on 3rd downs.
  8. When have you ever seen this with a rookie? Spiller is already our most important player, and it's probably not even really close.
  9. Fred was walking around the sidelines Saturday night and it looked like he only had a splint on it. Found it interesting that Lynch was not on the sidelines.
  10. I've never been a big fan of Ellison, but he is a good tackler and decent coverage LB. I think he's a better option as the nickel LB than Scott or should at least be considered. I also think McCargo has had a solid pre-season. I don't think we have enough good LB's to consistently play a 3-4, so McCargo has a chance at a roster spot. McCargo and Ellison are probably battling for the same spot and it most likely comes down to special teams play.
  11. Linebackers and then some more linebackers. Moats looks bad at times, but he's the only guy we have at ILB that has the potential to be a playmaker. As much as we need a pass rush, we need middle linebackers who don't get lost in the trash.
  12. Without knowing the details of his contract, costing a lot of money can mean different things. It looks like he signed a 5 year, $17.6m contract that could escalate into $25m based on playing time and sacks. His base salaries are well under a million dollars the next 2 years according to Rotoworld. Any signing bonus he was already paid is irrelevant. So you're willing to give up on him to save $500k this year that is really only $200k after you replace him with a guy like Coleman who would make $300k? As others said, he plays hard albeit not smart, is still very young and seems to have a positive attitude. Ellis showed nothing his first 2 years and now looks poised for a breakout year.
  13. Pretty good list. Ellis has some really nice athleticism for a big dude. Think he finds a way onto the field somehow. Youboty looked very solid. Gotta think he is ahead of Corner at this point. Was pretty happy with everyone of note. Only negative was Poz. He looked really slow, hopefully he is not 100% yet.
  14. I think Maybin has looked pretty good playing against the back-ups. McCargo has as well. At this point, I think it's best to just forget about where they were drafted and evaluate them as back-ups. Maybin looks better than Coleman, who is his competition to make the roster. McCargo might get caught up in the numbers, but he has played like the best lineman of the 2nd stringers.
  15. Brohm looked sharp and very decisive. He also has some nice movement in the pocket. Trent earned another start, but Brohm definitely improved his standing.
  16. Not saying the 30% sale is the Bills, but Kelly can be the broker (more likely a go-between who has access to Ralph and convinced him to do this) and an advisor would still be hired to structure the sale properly for all those involved. If someone is selling 30% and doesn't know who the buyers are, I'd think it would be for sale right now.
  17. He's got to clean up his throwing motion. He has a great arm but the ball comes out very high on all his throws. I assume that's why he struggles with the shorter throws and why his completion percentage isn't great. Like that he plays against the best competition and like that he plays in front of a football-obsessed fanbase. However, I assume Gailey will be frothing at the mouth to get Locker or Luck due to their mobility. Luck has the all the physical tools to be a #1 overall pick. Kid is impressive but we'll see how he does without Gerhart as a security blanket. Don't think Locker throws it good enough to be a #1 overall pick.
  18. With the options we currently have and the present O-Line, count me in the Fitzpatrick camp. He is nifty in the pocket, not afraid to take a hit, and isn't afraid to throw the ball downfield. Edwards might be more accurate with a red jersey on and no pass rush but he is useless once he senses a rush, and there will be plenty of pressure with this O-Line.
  19. Agree with all of this. Also think the League figured out that their secondary can cheat towards the line of scrimmage because Edwards doesn't throw the ball more than 10 yards down the field. It's like playing against a red zone defense on the entire field.
  20. The most frustrating thing to watch is defenses only having to defend the first 10 yards of the field. Hall was jumping routes the entire time Trent was in. Might as well run 60% of the time and have a strong armed QB back there who can stretch the field occasionally to keep defenses honest. Defenses don't respect Trent at all and it bottles up the whole offense.
  21. If there is truly a God, Bills fans will be spared another year of watching Edwards and Fitzpatrick.
  22. Agreed. Edwards has taken too many big hits. He can look good in practice with the red jersey on, but once it's live and he can get hit, he loses his composure and feels the pressure.
  23. More about the significance of it. Ralph has no reason to sell other than a signal to what his plans are once he dies. There's no point to sell 30% for estate tax purposes. Once Ralph dies his heirs can sell 100%, pay the estate tax from the proceeds and avoid capital gains taxes. If Ralph sells 30% before he dies, he'll have to pay capital gains on the 30% and won't avoid any of the estate tax.
  24. Highly unlikely Ralph would sell a minority interest to a non-Buffalo group while he is still alive. Why spend the time you have left as a villain? If he sells to a Toronto group, it will probably be 100% once he's gone.
