  1. If Shanahan and Holmgren don't want Claussen, I don't know why the Bills would. He doesn't strike as a Buffalo kind of guy either. I have no problems with a trade for Campbell, OT/DT in Round 1 and Tebow in Round 2. Campbell is the starter and use Tebow as a halfback and short yardage/goal line QB.
  2. I don't think it's possible for the Eagles to have handled this any worse. For McNabb to end up with a division rival for only a 2nd round pick is crazy. The Pats got a 1st rounder for Bledsoe, and McNabb is playing at a much higher level than Bledsoe was.
  3. I'd rather gamble on Tebow than the 3rd or 4th best OT. Nothing is a sure bet, and if Nix/Gailey believe in Tebow, pull the trigger. At worst, he'd be an excellent halfback and short yardage QB for the 1st two years. Maybe trade down a few spots, pick up at least another 3rd rounder, and take Tebow. The 3rd or 4th best OT isn't turning this franchise around.
  4. 4.) I think Spiller becomes the target of a lot of teams after the first 6-7 picks, where the contracts are too big for RB's. Raiders already have a bunch of backs and a similar and high-priced player in McFadden. Lots of internet chatter that Bills are interested in Spiller.
  5. Didn't the Saints and Jets do a deal where if Vilma re-signed with the Saints, the draft pick went from a 3rd to 2nd? Do that with the Eagles. 3rd rounder in 2011 that could become a 2nd rounder if McNabb re-signs.
  6. I agree with most of this post, but why be so quick to give up our 2nd rounder? The Eagles have to get rid of McNabb now. McNabb also has no incentive to sign an extension with the team he is traded too, especially with us or the Raiders. Rent him for a year for a 2011 conditional 3rd rounder that could climb to a 2nd or 1st rounder if we make the Super Bowl.
  7. I agree. This is hilarious seeing Philly botch this completely. At this point, I'd give Philly a conditional 3rd in 2011 that could become a 2nd rounder. Kind of like what the the Jets did with Favre.
  8. Bills definitely in a good position. Sometimes patience pays off. Eagles are handling this horribly.
  9. I like this idea a lot. Bills are not in a position to give up a lot of draft picks, but if we still had a pick in the 1st 3 rounds and got McNabb, then we're immediately better but still able to build for the future.
  10. Gil Brandt says it is highly probable Claussen goes in top 5 picks. I'd rather Spiller than the 4th best OT, but I'd rather trade down if there is no QB worthy of the 9th pick.
  11. So we need a starting LT, QB, pass rusher, and Nose Tackle from this draft? At some point, they have to try to move players that we don't need like Whitner or players who don't fit the scheme like Kyle Williams for players who do and can plug holes.
  12. If most of the money on the original deal has already been paid to Whitner, then he might not be that expensive. His salary cap number is meaningless, even moreso now that there is no cap. Same goes for other vets like Kelsay. It would be interesting to know what is owed guys like Whitner, Kelsay, Stroud, and Parrish this year. If Whitner is getting paid $2m this year, he might be worth it. Roscoe at $1.5m might be worth it too.
  13. Bills can't afford to give up draft picks. Picks are too important to a low revenue team that can't attract free agents without grossly over-paying them. However, we do have a valuable 4-3 asset in Kyle Williams, and Detroit also needs DB's, which we actually have quite a lot of.
  14. Good. The #9 pick, Kyle Williams, and McKelvin to Detroit for Suh or McCoy.
  15. Williams had a pretty big contract if I remember. Burleson, Vanden Bosch as well. STafford and Calvin Johnson are making huge money. Maybe the Lions have a deal in place to trade the #2 pick. Otherwise, that's a lot of money for a team in a depressed area to be throwing around.
  16. I'll also add that the Bills have rarely been a well-run organization and will never be a popular place for free agents. A franchise QB can mask a lot of those problems. Nothing else really can.
  17. Pick #9 is kind of no man's land for a rebuilding franchise. Aren't going to get an elite player at a premier position (QB, LT, Pass Rusher). If Bradford is the guy, I fully support going up to #2 to get him. Otherwise, try to trade down and rebuild with more picks.
  18. Take Davis out of there, and I agree with that list. No thanks to an Offensive Lineman with a questionable work ethic.
  19. Haven't watched enough of Campbell to have an informed opinion on him, but I support going after a veteran QB via player trade (Whitner) and drafting a starting caliber OT with the 1st pick. The Dolphins 2 years ago proved this can be a winning formula. I believe they also switched to a 3-4 defense that year as well.
  20. Ray Lewis. He'd scare the losers out of the locker room..
  21. Who walks away from $2m+ a year at age 26 to go into politics? I doubt he's running for any kind of elected office and one can only assume a 26 year old with no professional experience will be a pee-on for some congressman. I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't the 8th cut from yesterday and decided to go out on his own terms and the Bills gave him the courtesy.
  22. Would love to have McNabb. But there's no way the Eagles trade him for anything less than a 1st rounder, and the Bills aren't in a position to part with a 1st rounder for a 33 year old QB with a lot of mileage on him.
  23. We need a QB more than anything else and if we can get McNabb, that is great. I just wouldn't give up a 1st or 2nd rounder for him. I'd rather trade players and a lower round pick. Perhaps the Eagles would have interest in Whitner or Schobel.
  24. Payton coached a good game, but Saints were the better team. Brees is close to Manning's equal and Saints looked better everywhere esle. Colts had no pass rush and couldn't cover the Saints WR's.
  25. I agree. One team just seemed to want it more and was playing for more. The onside kick was a 50-50 ball and the hungrier team came away with it.
