  1. It seems fairly clear that some people are comfortable with the process as it played out. Take an individual with an impeccable record of service and commitment, educated at some of the most prestigious institutions in the world, who has support from some peers on the other side of the political aisle from him...and eviscerate him publically for all the world to see. It stands to reason that some other people would see that as tragic, and vote against the architects of the attempted hit job. The only positives revealed during that entire hearing was that Kavanaugh had the courage to see it through. With all the wins and losses yesterday for either side, it's hard to imagine many of these politicians have that sort of character. And so it goes.
  2. But if forced to concede that, he doesn't get to use cliches like "echo chamber". That would be tragic.
  3. What about STFU or WTFIYPD (what the ##@@ is your problem douche)?
  4. Somewhere in Americe, Monica Lewinsky sheds a tear while Bill Clinton pops a....beer. ..
  5. It's fair criticism that the team is horrible. 100% fair. Everyone has an opinion about what should come next, but we all agree this team blows. I'm not saying its right, fair or optimal. No doubt some choices were made that stink. No doubt some things went the wrong way on the line with players no longer with the team. I was really just commenting on the ownership approach and what went into the selection of Beane and McDermott. It would be foolish to agree to a plan and bail on the plan when it's working so well that your fan base hates you. Again, that assumes this was all laid out as some, many have suggested.
  6. I don't disagree with your point at all. Teams turn things around to respectable-at-least all the time. However, the Pegulas hired THESE guys, and if that was the plan it is what it is. I'm as sick as anyone on watching this debacle.
  7. Well, they own the franchise, and it's their right to decide on how to address it. The only question remaining for me is if the plan truly was to tear it all down and start again. As painful as it is to watch yet another lost season--an experience that repeats itself on a decades-long pace in WNY--if that was the plan, then it would be irresponsible for the Pegulas to get cold feet now. If this was the plan as sold--break it down build it up and we're going to pay on year one or two, then see it through. As bad as they are, playing marginally better and winning 5 games doesn't make December any better. Winning 8, same deal. On the other hand, if by now the plan was to be competitive, well decisions have to be made. As for the fans coming, my only thought is that if the product sucks, less money should be spent. I know there are fans with season tix, I pay for DirecTV and travel to some home games, but this product blows, so other than the social/family aspect--which is great--i can always fast forward to the end. Ironically, with this team the end is usually midway through the first quarter.
  8. Absolutely. Does Nagy rest his cornerbacks this week or let them go full tilt? By now it's too late to shut em down.
  9. You're turned around here. You're seeing spies in the woods hiding behind the trees. Mcdermott is just a coach trying to win football games. Beane, in his role, is doing the same. They could suck at it, last years success--however else it's viewed-- may well have been a fluke and McDermott never achieves even that modest level of success again. I liked Tyrod for the same reasons outlined above. Hard worker, fun to watch at times, amazing escapability and clearly a guy who gave 100%. That said, it was fairly easy to see his limitations and he simply did not offer what this coaching staff was looking for relative to what he was paid. That happens all the time in the NFL. If it's a mistake, and they ride with the wrong guy going forward, that happens as well and when you miss enough times, well, you generally end up on the street looking for work. I'd think in spite of you concerns about the vibe of the team and its fans, the Tyrod experiment in Cleveland lasted about the same amount of time as a 7 year olds birthday party at Chuckie Cheese. I think some fans fans rally around the hurdle for the same reason that fans rallied around some of Tyrod's amazing plays. It's exciting, the kid is playing to win, and in a world where nearly half a 40 year work career can go by between playoff appearances, for some, it offered hope. JA represents the future, in spite of whether or not he actually pans out as The future. Tyrod He can throw the ball a country mile. He makes plays other guys cannot. He'll die on that field for you. And in spite of the vibe you feel, he has a ton of fans saying he was a wasted pick. That's the nature of fandom. Ah, just re-read your post and missed the big "white" kid part. I thought it was commentary on TT v. JA and the decision to keep Peterman. You had me all in on that. Man, what a sad way to look at a damn football game.
  10. This pathetic setup phony bullsh/t is so overdone. Maga Neanderthal in red hat, reads impassioned yet snarky letter with heart doodles written by Jewish girl who gnaws the nail polish off her thinger? She is so tortured by the red hat that she springs into action yet pauses to take a picture of it for public consumption? And she's sitting "a few rows back" but can say definitively he "read it all."? Please.
  11. I think the better question is "If there isn't time...is the answer still 'Yes'?".
  12. jimmy kimmel has a team scouring the news/internet for quirky things like this, writers that consider focus groups and the current sociopolitical climate and the mood of his sponsors, and reads from a teleprompter to make sure he delivers these pearls of wisdom for maximum effect. Kudos to him for getting to this point in life. Still, there was a time not all that long ago where his creative juices had him approaching random women on the street to implore the to "guess what's in my pocket?" with another guy holding a cell phone to film it. I'll take a kid who is passionate enough to take his hard-earned money and hop a bus to the ticket booth and buy a ticket for the team he loves to watch them play a team that everyone knows will dominate. I'll take a kid who cares enough to fire up the old gateway computer, set the font on Times New Roman/bold/all caps and screw the format! He delivered his message to the people and his message was heard. This kid has moxie. How can you not respect a kid like that?
  13. He does sound a tad unhinged here. He went full high pitched B word slap for a minute there.
  14. I watched an alleged news story this very alleged morning about the alleged phony plot to accuse mueller of alleged sexual harassment. With every piece of data, and every fact not in dispute about ford and the left v. Kavanaugh---I mean the stuff everyone agreees on about who said what to whom about when---you ended up with the fact pattern that played out in the confirmation hearing. At one point you simply needed to change "mueller" to "Kavanaugh" and the story made perfect sense. admittedly, you did not NEED to change mueller to Kavanaugh as both are part of the white guy extremist population and thus should be white guy banned once all the non white guys rise up.
  15. As a guy offered 3 separate opportunities to fly the Space Shuttle back in the day, I find this all very plausible.
  16. Let's be honest. Gronkowski drove into a guy laying facedown on the ground and slammed his elbow into the back of his head, causing the guy's head to bounce off what amounts to concrete covered by a yoga mat. It was not a football play, it was not post-scrum action, it was not two guys jawing and one losing his cool. It was a deliberate attempt to injure a guy unable to defend himself, something that if you saw outside a bar from Boston to Buffalo you would say "Geesh, what a scumbag.". That sort of assault was viewed by the league as no big deal, the punishment levied by the league was minor relative yo the infraction, especially in light of the leagues stated goal to protect players and their senses long-term. I think the NFL takes the approach that they'll assess lots of smaller fines on lower level guys while allowing marquis players and teams much more latitude. In context, I would suggest the NFL should levy no fine at all. Let it happen, but let it happen across the board. The biggest issue most people seem to have is the inconsistency across the board, between crews and often in the same game.
  17. I don't like the protests at work, don't like nike and have told folks i would rather not win a sb than win with a guy wearing pig socks. Given all that, I'd love to see them invite him in to hear him scream a great big "Ah hellll no!" to the offer.
  18. I love when multimillionaires sell me their multimillionaire ice cream and tell me how it makes us equal, except for the money and obesity issues.
  19. I think some times when you read what you wrote, and consider societal norms and socially acceptable behavior, it's easy to spot where you may have gotten a bit off track. Not always, but some times.
  20. He was a step away from bringing down Brady on his amazing 8 yard scramble last night. He was held on the way in, held on the way back when he tried to finish the play. One of the more infuriating plays last night.
  21. Jesus, I've been around too long. I thought it was stupid and childish, though I kind of see the Josh Allen on the swan boat as humorous. Though, given the injury, he should have been on a black swan.
  22. Did they give him the yards off the pick 6?
  23. Besides what may be the nicest weather over a 365 day stretch on the planet, girls in bikinis and virtually every type of food available 24x7, what does this guy have going for him?
  24. I want to sound smart here, but am concerned there will be follow up questions so I'm going with "Indeed."
