I think we started going in the early 80s. Post Borg, but Mac, Jimmy, Lendl, Becker, Evert, Marina, etc. I remember watching Stefen Edberg as a teenager playing the junior tournament on the of the side courts, thinking, ‘wow, this kid is good!’ Nothing like going the first week and being able to hop around to different matches and seeing the crowd gather as word spread about an unexpectedly tight match.

I used to go every year back in that era....the 80s/early 90s was incredible for tennis. Wifey is actually flying out tomorrow night to meet up with friends in NYC for the weekend and going to the Open on Sunday.

Marv was good at keeping a lot of big egos tuned in and on the same page, which was pretty important for that group. But he’s wasn’t a great game day coach.

Why does everyone assume you'd be flying at great speed? What if you only fly at 20 mph? That's not gonna be super practical for much. How are you going to stay warm while flying? Can't go very high before it starts getting pretty damn cold. What happens in winter? Or if it's raining? Wind chill? And if you fly low, how are you going to keep rednecks from taking shots at you? "Hey, here he comes again, everyone reload!!!!"

Seriously, what else is there? Once the second one is accomplished I can have my own private jet and won't need to fly myself anymore.
