  1. So I have looked into getting groceries for at risk folks , but seems they are all being directed to use Instacart or other services. I am bored to tears as well, know every grocery store like the back of my hand, and prolly gunna start doing today. Both my kids have been doing it for 3 weeks, they asked me if they should, and I really do think it is work that helps in this mess.
  2. Man, i thought the ending was mind blowing!
  3. Phil was awesome on the commentary.. and in terms of high def, will always remember the day in 02 or 03...being almost committed to buying an HD TV and being in the store and seeing the NHL AllStar game live in HD..first sporting event i had seen in HD...and i was now 100% sold. Walked out of the Tweeter( man, they were ahead of their time in the name eh?) with a $3600 Samsung DLP..so happy i got a bargain as did not spend $5K on it 2 months before that, or $10K for a plasma!
  4. Thanks for the Gug! Funny movie!
  5. Funny, i remember the funeral I attended the Tuesday before "Rona Wednesday" ...and feeling really apprehensive about everyone holding hands during the Our Father... one person who attended the funeral has it, but she contacted from a neighbor almost 100% sure, and prolly two weeks after the funeral. BTW, do we as a society have an official name for the Wednesday night when in the span of 30 minutes we had the NBA cancel, Trump speaking and stock futures nose diving, and Tom Hanks broadcasting he was positive? It was 30 minutes i will remember to the day i die, and really the start of all us taking this poop seriously..at least me.
  6. Saw this at Wegmans the other day too at the self checkout...people are dumb, dumb, and dumber
  7. thought i would post this for those in Buffalo...these look pretty cool. https://www.wgrz.com/article/entertainment/television/programs/daybreak/be-your-own-docent-on-a-self-guided-walking-tour-of-buffalos-historic-neighborhoods/71-e8814e8b-8911-46aa-8142-36cba79b673c
  8. In my defense, the horse full name was Shady McCoy, how can you not bet that?
  9. that’s awesome! Congrats on the house, you will live living there! Sure you know the area well, but if you ever need restaurant recommendations etc just let me know. Just a heads up, both Maydan and Dabney on RESY. Dabney takes reservations 2 weeks out, Maydan 4 I believe. For both, if you trying to get a Friday or Saturday 6:30-9 , need Resy open on desktop and logged in with computer clock open and at exactly noon two weeks out hit the resy site. Sometimes even doing that we only get 9 or 9:30. but so worth it!
  10. Maydan is awesome , but must say I prefer The Dabney just a scooch more! where you live? We have a place on Kalorama RD, right off Connecticut. We can meet for a beer at Exiles! Or any of another 1000 places between us and Maydan!
  11. i miss bars so much more than restaurants! Cant wait to sit at a bar again!
  12. I am in if they have the games and fans. I think we will see tons of folks with masks on ( somehow rigged so we can still drink beers) and possibly temp scand before entrance, gates open at 10:00 and Bills get an exemption from the no alcohol sold before noon law. And I just cant see any way they do any kind of "social distancing" at the stadium. How are they going to decide who gets to go the game? Even sections one game, odd the next? Upper bowl one game, lower the next? What if everyone wants the opener?
  13. Haha..only two Bills game's we did not tailgate with the Jets being the other!
  14. I have been reading how it’s not the virus that killls people, but their immune system going nuts and causing the inflammation in the lungs etc. the so called “ cytokene” storm. Linked clip from a good friend who is good friends with this DR. Who was positive and his story on how anti inflammatory was like a miracle cure. Obviously anecdotal, but wonder if this might be how treatment evolves. l
  15. Yep, it’s the idiots that always ruin it for the non-idiots. I have been playing occasionally, guys I play with and me and almost all of the club doing the right things. Most people walk, if in a cart 1 to a cart. keep at least 10 ft from each other, no touching any else’s ball, carry sanitizer in case ball hits flag or rests on foam in hole, or in case you just need it. Last Sunday we finish and a group of good ole boys standing right close to each other in a big circle, drinking beers , and settling bets in CASH! WTF! That is why courses get closed!
  16. couple of my observations of whats happening now from a market perspective. While no expert, i have been invested in equities since 86. Most of what i will post below is my interpretation of Cramer and other CNBC talking heads. 1) While the claims number was higher than expected, the Fed announcement of pumping 2.2 Trillion in signaled they will do whatever it takes to see the economy though. Massive confidence boost for the markets 2) Fed buying state and municipalities debt, backstopping high yield corporate debt..unprecedented actions to make sure liquidity is not an issue for either business or governments moving forward 3) Cramer interview with Mnuchin seemed to indicate both thought most of the country and people be back to work in May. 4) Powell talks later and essentially says this is what we did today, have mire ammo if we need to fire it later. Most surprising to me was he took a question on hpow printing all this money would affect inflation..he stated that was our worry in the 08 crisis, we did not see it, and as a matter of fact inflation has been below what we would like to see for several years now. I dont understand what called MMT(Modern Monetary Theory) but apparently that is the reason why. 5) Everybody understands Q2 numbers mean absolutely nada, gunna suck across the board...liquidity and balance sheet will matter..and look to q3 to give ideas on what 21will look like..that is what will drive share prices up or down. 6) Lots of other technical discussion about will we test the lows again(18.5K on the Dow)..most seem to think not but most still believe this is a bear market rally and will be plenty of buying opportunity in the next 1-2 months. 7) said some of the "quarantine " stocks..Netflix, Clorox..maybe overpriced here, so not everything a bargain. ? None of us, including those guys, have any freaking clue cause we have never seen an economy shut close before, nor had a Fed that is taking the actions they are. Good luck to all !
  17. I have had zero issue with that..I love the aisle, stayed in my seats this year cause i am on the aisle. I can time things so well that on 3rd and long i run to the tunnel entrance and watch play...if not converted run to the head, get a beer, and be back in my seat for next first down. Miss the punt true, but that is it, but never really miss anything else..all for being on the aisle! I am in 135 , row 24, but would like to be up around 35 or so. No go this year
  18. If you like Ken Burns films, Prime has New York...it is the American Experience one. Super long, like 16 hours...but it is a fascinating look and history of NYC. Growing up in Niagara Falls, had no idea why we had the Robert Moses parkway..certainly understood after watching this film!
  19. Unemployment claims 6.6m, way more than expected. But somehow all 3 indices set to open up. Fed stepping in huge. Man stuff is crazy right now. have no clue what to do or what’s gunna happen.
  20. 81-84 games are pretty lost to me, at college with no access to them besides MNF halftime highlights. Only game I remember from that year is the Rosie Leaks Fumble game loss to Tampa Bay. Christmas break I guess.
  21. Just saw Cuomo with positive news on hospitalizations...looks like all this crap we have been doing is starting to work...just like the great news above!!!! Every piece of positive new is welcomed!
  22. The danger John is people thinking this drug is a panacea and start to relax in their precautions. As Haseltime said in the interview, in every pandamic/epidemic, there will be instances of this so called "lazarus" effect. And that dude is as smart as they come. I agree, if you are dying and your doctor sees this as best alternative, fire away. But we do not need broad policy decisions, or see public actions change, based on some anecdotal evidence that it has helped in some cases. Trust me, prolly not a person in this country who does not hope it helps and is an effective treatment.
