As you know, did buy some at the start of this mess. Let’s roll!

Just going back out in July, but put it back we will! thought you may have clients like me with their head up their bottom and be good to give them a heads up!

REITs to me would be hard now. If focused on retail space , dead. If focused on converting old malls to “ experience “ centers, dead. Commercial office space? On one hand, WFH seems demand would be less, but distancing rules mean more space is needed? in other words, I have no clue. Well, mortgage rates for one are at historic lows. 2, I still think supply is way down, who is listing their house now? ( although my forensic in a bitter divorce listed hi last week). 3, massive divide right now from folks working from home and just fine and spending prolly 50-75 less in discretionary spending , and people losing their paychecks and not able to work from home.

Room and board is being prorated and refunded. Not a huge amount , but between the two we prolly about $4800, 10% penalty would suck !

Hey all, maybe not a lot of us on here, but if you are paying college costs with 529 plans just received a message from my daughters college. They stated that refunds need to be sent back to the plan if you received a refund or face a tax penalty. @Chef Jim , you very well may have been aware of this, I sure as chit was not. And we have 2 in college paying with 529 plans, and revived refunds for both. https://www.kiplinger.com/article/college/T002-C032-S014-the-coronavirus-529-plan-tax-risk-you-can-t-ignore.html

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

I was not there in Januray, not there in February..but by late March it is readily apparent WHO and China do not have the best interest of the world at heart. Cramer speculating China may have had some large shorts.... -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

Only my recollection of events and numbers..will search further, but approximately Trial in Chicago , results leakes about two weeks ago...something like 120 severely ill, 112 walked out of hospital within 2 weeks, 5 still fighting, 3 died. About a week ago, China says there trial ended in failure, and felt the drug was leading to unnecessary deaths, two other trials could not find enough volunteers for trial. Those results show up on the WHO website "by mistake" .Gtliead disputes results Stock tanked. Cramer came out and was very vocal dont trust China or Who, trust the U of Chicago and Harvard studies when they come out next week. He was crushed for that. Today is today..need to read more , need @Hapless Bills Fan to help this dummy understand it. Overall, just good to see some positive news. And count this TDS dude as one who praised Trump on his stance with the WHO!!!! -

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

Has no bearing on our conversation or the issue that was your statement was misleading . Prolly less than .005 of travelers were placed in a quarantine when they came back from either China or Europe. Same amount tested. They were not even given temperature checks before boarding the plane, and certainly not when they arrived on US soil. -

Your point was that everyone who arrived from China was put in quarantine, and that is not even remotely close to true. Folks flying directly from Wuhan, yes, they were. Any other people coming in from China, ( and yes US citizens were coming in much after the ban) were asked a few questions and sent on their merry way. Same as it was for people coming from Europe when that ban was put in place. ask @Buffalo_Gal her expeience about coming back in the country that weekend. I dont believe anyone was tested before or after travel except thos folks from Wuhan who did get quarantined.. I -

If we cant compare this to the flu, certainly cant compare it to the Spanish Flu either..as @Boatdrinks laid out, not even close in terms of morbidity rates. I -

aint gunna be money from the state, feds, NFL, or Pegs for a new stadium, dont care what that study says. Unless we in a depression, and a new WPA is in place to combat the 20% unemployment..then i wont have money for tickets anyway LOL -
i think a fundamental shift has occured over the last 30 years, and it is driving the market..and that shift is 401Ks. 30 years ago, the average Joe like you and me were not in the market as a whole..folks maybe a few shares for the company they worked for, dabbled a bit here in there on some hunches, but certainly their retirment was not tied to the market. Big market swings may have spooked them, caused them to sell etc. Now, so many people have a 401K and are much more aware of the market..and as such are more aware of "dont panic" Dollar cost average" is your friend, remember you do not need this money till you retire , dips are good for you long term"..they don't panic sell.Last i saw, like$7Trillion in equity mutual funds held in 401K accounts. That money for the most part is staying put..and hence why i think you get the resilience in the market. obviously, if i was a stock market sage i would own the Bills, but I think a retest of 18.5K on the dow is far more unlikely than 30K on the dow. I think the 18K was the retest, and it has bounced of that low on March 23rd to where we are today. WE should revisit this thread in September and beta beer at a Bills game for SNG! Abd the NASDAQ, where most of the "stay at home" stocks reside( and where most of what we own individually resides) ..i think even less likely to touch lows of 6800 again. I like you am shocked at how the market has recovered, and think it is overbought...and has some downside in it, but my gut is waiting to test the lows again will mean you are in cash for the next 5 years
