  1. Denver is going to be high on my list...have never really been "to " Denver, only there at Airport to head skiing. Think it looks like a fun town. Possibly Arizona as well as have never really been in Phoenix for more than a night either.
  2. Would be both for me. Quarantined for 14 days in one of those tiny butt rooms? No thanks, not worth it no matter how cheap the cruise
  3. Not loser talk..its " that city sucks donkey poop " now. Really dread going there now, even more so now than when they tried to make it a friendly family place in the mid to late 90's, and for a hard core gambler/carouser like me, that was a rough time in Vegas history. In my best get offmy lawn voice, I want to go back to mid 80's, gambling was king, food, room and drinks were free, hookers were cheap, and if you wanted to go clubbing you went to LA or NYC! For @corta765, I think a ton ofBills fans think they want to go till the reality of $300 upper deck seats, $400 hotel rooms and $12 drafts hit. Most over priced city in the world now, IMHO
  4. I have not listened to the Bots interview on GR from yesterday, but did read some excerpts on Twitter...and its kinda scary on these two points 1) Scoring chances and expected goals are subjective...prolly why Risto is still here. Bots sounds like he does not believe in advanced numbers, or they have numbers internally that don't agree with the public numbers. Either way, scary to think this guy only goes by "eye test" 2) Wants to resign Simmonds????Are you kidding me?
  5. I know that is going to be the "travel" game this year, and i am pretty sure i am sitting it out. Last place i want to go for a game.
  6. Conference cancellations are going to hurt. ADP just cancelled their annual user conference "Meeting of the Minds", and some 42K attendee conference in Orlando has been cancelled. I, OTOH, am looking at cheap airfare and hotel options for some trips this spring!
  7. The only way I would cancel any travel is fear of getting stuck somewhere. Someone mentioned Italy. I would not cancel out of fear of getting the virus, but fear that a quarantine from that region could prevent me getting home. no fear of that really anywhere in this hemisphere yet AFAIK. Cruise would be tough, think I would cancel that if I could. We have a family friend that is taking like a 30 day cruise over in APAC, and basically only getting in to 25% of the ports that were planned. Lots of ship time is not what he planned on. Trip of a lifetime for this older gent, but nothing can be done.
  8. and to think that idiot was hittin Michelle Beadle until he got drunk one night and started doing stupid poop like this
  9. find a college kid, pay them $30 for their email, and sign up for the streaming package for college kids
  10. Well, according to my son weed has been decriminalized in Morgantown to make him feel welcomed, and i am sure mr @Hammered a Lot would want to be just as welcoming for him
  11. Can coaches have laptops in the booths?
  12. Not quite sure when, and it is not right outside the arena, but kitty corner to the Timmy's in the base of Harbor Center, close to the light rail station. My guess would be it went up when Harbor Place opened..
  13. Don't get me started on the probity of having a statue downtown of a guy who died driving 110MPH while on a whisky, lude, amphetimine and lord knows what else concoction, and only by the grace of God somehow did not kill someone else.
  14. at a little local establishment last night that was pouring Nugget Nectar...was laughing with my buddy used to stand in line down here 10 years ago to get a 6 of that stuff, now it is on tap at my little local bar. BTW, i like to take partial credit for the whole Richmond beer scene, seeing as how i got into the Belgians first at Mekong in the early aughts...and was a regular at that bar...at the whole beer explosion is because of that joint
  15. ^^^^^ @May Day 10, you nailed in brother!. It seems the expectations are so damn low in the organization it trickles down to the players.
  16. I think it is so funny to see the thread a few inches down on Sullivan writing for the Niagara Gazette and now having some freelance gigs at channel 4, and Bucky being completely out of this biz...all the while the Athletic is thriving and some many young guys are now prominent writers like JoeB and Fairburn. And Sullivan and Gleason blame it all their editors!!!!
  17. Dude who started Serious Eats, Kenji Lopez, worked for ATK and Kimball
  18. Here’s the point John. Bots has had 3 full off seasons with this franchise and has arguable made them worse. Your defense of that is “ well, he was up against the cap this year, but next year he has cap room”. Problem is he created that cap problem, and he thought this was a roster that could compete and win. He was dead wrong. tbis was not a franchise that needed a complete tear down and rebuild when he came in as you seem to believe. This was not the Red Wings. He had almost $10m in cap room, Kane, Ror, Sam, McCabe, Risto, Lehner , Larrson, Girgensons , let alone a Hart level player in Jack. Then he kicks into Dahlin. The group we have today is his efforts and building off that base , and they are bottom 6 again. It is almost unimaginable with that group they have gotten worse under his stewardship. I just don’t trust this guy To make wise moves hockey when the results just suggest he is not good at building teams. in your own words, the talent level even after 3 years is subpar. Why do you believe he will magically change?
  19. totally remember that show
  20. This was my first cooking show i watched religiously, loved this show. Little bit of On-Yon in der...dude was awesome!
  21. Prolly is a bit of that, but some I think is situational 1) The Sabres exit was 100% his illness. Maybe it could have worked here, but maybe he does not address his illness if stays 2) Islanders he was considered a system goalie.. and Griess had very similar numbers 3) Varlomov was available, and no baggage...Lou made a decision he felt safer giving him a long term contract that Lehner 3) Not many options left if i remember correctly, so he gets another 1 year deal..Chicago deals him for an asset in a lost season. Now, it will be interesting to see if he can get a longer term deal this year. I would take em back over Hutton every day
  22. Always take solace in the fact @ScottLaw was vehemently against the trades in Beane's first year, crushed him in year two and wanted him fired. So, the opposite of his opinions are generally a safe bet to be correct
  23. okay, let me get this straight and tell me where i misunderstand your post. You believe the GM came in 3 years ago and decided he would never get above 6 from the bottom of the standings, use all his available cap room and sign bad players on purpose so that in year 4 he needed to sign and least 4 forwards, somehow get a #2 center, get a starting goalie, have a total of 14 RFA's and UFAs , and hopefully push for a playoff spot in year 4? You really think that was the master plan? BTW, who's contracts are expiring? Are they Bots acquisitions? Heres the list, tell me which guy was not an acquisition or re-signed by Bots U Unrestricted R-RFA Sobotka -U Vesey-U Larrson_ U Reinhart-R Girgensons-U Kahun-U Thompson-U Lazar-U Simmonds-U Frolik-U Olofsun_R Montour-R Pilut-R Hunwick-U Ulmark-R Johanson -R
