While thats true, its the trades he is not making that are really annoying. The last thing this team needed was to get an idea they are in a playoff race and keep the gang together. The TRocheck deal. the Kase deal last week..top 6 forwards are being dealt. I mean Trocheck is a hockey deal that makes this team stronger 2C, a piece that's been missing since the ROR trade. Lets Cozens play in the NHL next year in a reduced role without as much pressure as Mitts had, or take another year to develop in the AHL...so much to like about this deal and a protected #1, a RHD, and prolly Larry or Gus gets this deal done i Think. If BOTS let a win over a Penquin team clearly looking ahread to Sundays tilt with the Caps and a admittidly nice win agasint the Jets cloud his long term evaluation of this team he is dumber than i think he is.

Bakin, I too used Carr’s book. My quit day was May 8, 2008. So been almost 12 years. You made the short term, you will make the long term. BTW, I have not had ANY nicotine since that day. No cigars etc. Still have dreams every once in a while where I smoke and get so pissed, but then wake up and all good! What’s crazy is these are the exact kind of quotes and statements that will keep people smoking. None of that “‘scared straight” ***** works when it comes to this addiction. Understanding the physical addiction and the mental fears of quitting is what works. Dude, get the Allen Carr book if you want to quit. Truly is close to 100% success rate with the people I know who have read it, which now with Bakin would be like 8 of 9 people I know have read are still quit. Good thing is there is no scary pictures of lungs or decrepit old people depicting what will happen to you if you keep smoking , but rather gets you to really understand the addiction and the fears we all have about quitting. I know I was like golf , meals, Bills games, sex, ... none of it will be the same with out my Marlboro Reds. ya know, they are all the same, just enjoy all those things way more without the worry of where will I get my smokes in! anyway, get the book. It encourages you to smoke while you are reading it, it’s like $10 on Amazon. If you don’t buy into it, cost ya a beer at the bar!

Big game with the Spiders coming up! -
Agreed, and hes not accepting anytrade i would think. My only point was they are getting cap relief next year, giving up what i have seen reported as a B- prospect, and what should be a very late first . If Anaheim does not need to take on that one year of cap, is it safe to assume a pick maybe 5-10 picks after the Bruins gets it done? I get for some, just the notion of a 1st vs a 2nd sounds like a lot...instead of just saying pick 36 instead of pick 28. Could be Anaheim will need the spend to get to the floor next year..i dont know. What i do know is that for a team that is in desperate need of forwards, this seems like a deal that could have been made, and it would not have been a reach or a desperation move. This is a real life hockey trade .

Uhm...it sure does. Look no further than the Kase trade today...100% based on advanced analytics, certainly not actually point production from Kase yet. You want to talk contract considerations? Why the hell do you still have Sammy playing with Jack? Find out now if you want to pay him $9M a year by seeing if he can drive his own line. Or, do they want to pay him like Skinner based on a great year with Jack..and then not play him with Jack and watch his production go down 50%. What they are doing now with Sammy is simply driving his price up. Only reason who can or cannot be recalled should factor in is when you have folks of comparable skill and worth... Bogo was never going to make an impact on this team, that was a pure case of Bots overvaluing his D. Cap constraints are workable...lookee how the Bruins just got rid of one their cap headaches!!

@BillsFan4, the general reaction I am seeing on twitter is twofold 1) Bruins fans are jubilant at the trade 2) Duck Fans , while not quite as cranky as Hawks fans last year when Joki was traded.still a good bit upset. That is offset a bit by a good number of the them that don't understand what a salary dump is with Backes. 3) https://puckprose.com/2020/02/21/boston-bruins-phenomenal-move-ondrej-kase/ I know Kyle has a NM, but can imagine getting Kase for say a 2nd( Sabres could be 4 after Bruins pick) a 3rd, Borgen(RHD) and Kyle?

Might be, Risto played the most minutes last year too and you said he sucked last year? So.. Put your head in the sand all you want, the NHL is almost entirly run now by guys who buy into the analytics. Reason why Bruce Cassidy says "i need to see the numbers" and not " i need to see the tape" when someone asks him what he thought of someones play in a game. It is also the reason Bots cannot trade him
-
Ah Kemosobe, this is where you have your head in the ground. Advanced stats run the league now, and the numbers tell ya Risto still stinks. is he playing better? Yes but That’s akin to saying the Sabres are better because they went to last under Bots in his first year and now have climbed to 5 th worst. Better? Yes. Good? No.

That's very smart! I don't fly enough anymore to have status, so i have become a hawk at waiting for the door to close and then jumping to an exit row if one was available. Been told the last couple times had to move back to original seat as those are premium seats and need to pay for them!?

Do you know the platform/tool they are using for the interview? I would imagine you sign some TOS before your first interview. Do some research if you can on the platform and the AI they may be using to access candidates. Body language, speech patterns, all kinds of things analysed by a machine now to predict success of hire. they future is here! https://www.hrtechnologist.com/articles/hr-analytics/is-speech-analysis-the-next-frontier-of-predictive-analytics-in-hr/

I like that approach as well... In terms of guarantees, i do think you will see guys just eliminate the back years as Cousins did in his contract, and Sammy did in his. They were really always club options anyway, another way to say this is when we can cut you with no significant cap hit. Sammy's was a two year deal with $30M Guaranteed , and a club option at $21M for the third year. Sammy playing the financial game the way it should be played Cousins was 3 year guaranteed. Only reason you don't see more structured this way is agents like to tout total value of a deal, so they love to add on those club options at the end

I cant believe there was even one thing in this world you found fun..was that the last?

I thought one of two things would happen in this CBA, but it appears to not be the case. 1) Similar to the NHL, one players % of the cap would be capped ..say 13% or something 2) A separate pool or cap of some sort for QBs, with some kind of equation that reflects rookie deals etc. And I am still shocked that not 1 QB has asked for a percentage of the cap as opposed to a flat number. Thats what I would ask for

I have not found this to be the case the two times i have used a budget airline. On Spirit, purchased " the Big Front Seat" for less then economy on traditional carriers for a 2 1/2 flight...well worth it. Those are just about the same as any domestic first class. Flew Alligient from Richmond to Nashville for the Bills game last fall. Not only was it the only direct, but they clearly stated up front how much you would pay for everything..seat selection , bags etc. I opted to lock in for a an exit row aisle with a carry on, and felt it was still much cheaper than a traditional carrier would have charged for a similar seat. BTW, I am one who thinks fees are perfectly a okay...you want a better seat at a concert? you pay for it. You want someone to deliver your TV instead of taking it home? You pay for , just like them delivering luggage to you. Give me the option to pay for the things that are important to me.

I have not read the article, but the problem is no one outside dinosaurs use +/- as a relevant statistic anymore. Bout as useful as hits. https://hockey-graphs.com/2016/11/01/behind-the-numbers-why-plusminus-is-the-worst-statistic-in-hockey-and-should-be-abolished/ And, I can see Bots using it in trade negotiations, and other GMs with half a brain using more modern and advanced stats and laughing at Bots trade demands for Risto. As Burke said, he was ready to pull the trigger on the Risto a few years back, till his analytics folks told him he would be an idiot to trade for him. But he has to jump or he gunna hit dudes in the junk!
-
Wow, not “ rewarding” your $9m/ 8 year guy in year 1? Oh my, that can’t be going well between coach and GM who made the signing. One dimensional play is why he was paid $9m, score freaking goals being that one dimension. Cat ain’t changing his stripes at his age, he never gunna be a responsible two way player. He scores freaking goals when he plays with other good players. this could get interesting.

@JohnC, did they ask then why no PP or OT usage? Not on the ice 6-5? I can buy the top line answer..be interesting if he addressed the other situations. And like i said few posts back, the loss in Ottawa really should have even the most optimistic of folks, whether they be fans, Management, or Owners realistic about this season now, which should take the pressure off making a substantial trade at the deadline. Rentals, fire away! Get as many picks as ya can! To bad you cant acquired picks in Offer Sheets, cause we need a 3rd desperately.
