  1. Love semantics debates. Rookie or not, I did like that Gailey called him a "amazing athlete" - it at least sounds like he believes that Bell can be a player. Guess we'll see. More than anything, watching that clip got me fired up about Gailey. I'm not sure how anyone could not like what the guy is saying. We always need more good players. We're building through fundamentals and techniques. Strength and conditioning are important. We need to play smart. When listening to the guy, you just know that's he's a *football guy*, I'm actually really excited to see the next couple years take us under Chan and crew...
  2. He's a bust - show me one thing he's done in this league! Wait, the only thing he's done is sign a contract. Way to suck up cheap old man Wilson's money, dude. Relying on your 0% completion rate in the NFL, getting by on your nice hair... Trade him and Marshawn to Baltimore for Gaither, it makes sense for both teams!!
  3. I just liked reading this: “Everything speeds up in the red zone and you have to practice that on a regular basis or you don’t get a feel for that,” said Gailey. “You’re trying to introduce the base concepts right now, but as time goes on because we’ll continue to practice that on a regular basis. A lot of games are won and lost in the red zone.” Amazing - maybe we'll know what to do when we get in the red zone this year...
  4. Really makes you wonder what the hell they were thinking last year... Hopefully Chan can mold something out of the guy, if not, we're in some trouble. Not insurmountable trouble, but trouble.
  5. Edwards comments were pretty good too - sounds like he wants to work and get better to me. http://www.buffalobills.com/media-lounge/v...1e-e3021565560b Funny that he called out Fairchild by name (in a conversation about consistency in coordinators, to be fair). He also talked about how we run the same plays out of the same formations and it g0t pretty predictable. Sounds like Chan knows how to disguise plays and understands that certain plays can build off one another. Amen! Trent also mentioned having one guy at the helm. Last year must have been a real clusterf...
  6. Did you guys catch the recap on bb.com? http://www.buffalobills.com/media-lounge/v...e9-f72d34fc27cc Amazing, did I see Trent throw two deep balls? lol. Seems good to seem 'em back on the field, I say! Knowledge baby, Knowledge.
  7. Yup, we're saying the same thing I just laugh off all of these preseason rankings - no one knows how any of our QBs are going to perform with our new schemes, Oline, spiller, discipline from Gailey, injuries, Buffalo wind - there are only a million variables...
  8. So having not played a game in 2010 our QBs are ranked worst in the league? Okaaaaay...
  9. Close by, down in Bradford... There are a few here on TBD and there is always a good contingency at the bar on Sunday. They're just about to open a Buffalo Wild Wing within walking distance from my condo - stoked. BTV is a great little city, highly recommended for a visit or a move!
  10. Just trying to organize some of the Bills fans in the Burlington, VT area so we can be ready for the 2010 season. Stop by and "Like" my unofficial Bills Backers page, then during the season we'll eat wings and drink Labatt Blue's like we're kings! No whiners... http://www.facebook.com/pages/Buffalo-Bill...121199171238921 (Scott - feel free to move this to Off the Wall if that's where it should live)
  11. - Doesn't Nix get a lot of credit for helping SD rebuild through the draft? From what I've read about and heard from the guy, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. I think that he and Chan are going to bring fundamental football to Buffalo - mistake free, tough play on both sides of the ball. - Most coaches get fired along the way, it's part of the gig. If anything Gailey has shown consistently that he can score, I think we will run and we will score some TD's. I'm not saying I would have done the same thing, but we seem to have some direction. For the first time in a long time, I feel like we're not just going to look like unprepared chumps out on the field. Chan's at least not going to let that happen. Play solid, throw in a home run hitter like Spiller and you never know what might happen. If we land and LT like Gaither before training camp, I think we might be a little surprise some teams this year...
  12. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-player-inter...ght-Chan-Gailey It doesn't show it here, but on the TV show Jaime Dukes roasts us, 'course that guy's an idiot. Seriously though, Gailey makes a lot of sense in what he's saying, if we can just play tough, smart football we CAN win some games. I don't understand how people can't get behind what the organization is trying to build...
  13. He just issued a statement with Jay Glazer http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/brian-c...-steroid-050810 Says he didn't take a steroid, Glazer is going to be on Sirius at 3:00. Cushing trains at Glazer's MMA training school too, hence the scoop I guess. Ross Tucker said if it's not a roid, it's probably a masking agent. Should be an interesting interview...
  14. For those that don't get Twitter, download TweetDeck and run a search for #Bills, you'll see every Bills related post out there (or at least the ones people tag). It's kinda fun to watch a "real time" conversation about the team. I also follow buffalo sports writers, all the current players with accounts plus Thurman and Talley; I've actually had a couple back and forths with Thurman - as a fan, that seems pretty neat... I'm @hunterheitz A few for a late #FF @aaronmaybin58 @adam_schefter @brianmoorman @buddygm @buffalobillscom @darryltalley @dontewhitner @draytonflorence @jairusbyrd31 @john_wawrow @leeevans83 @lightning28 @loriTBD @richeisen @shawnnelson89 @si_rosstucker @terrellowens @thurmanthomas @timgrahamespn @twobillsdrive Did I miss anyone good?
  15. Heh - and that's what I'm talking about, community my friend, community. I'm dragging some of Vermont with me to the opener this year too! Did I mention a Buffalo Wild Wings is moving in within walking distance of my place? Yeah, Sunday's just got a little better...
  16. It takes place this weekend doesn't it? Here's the update from CJ "Jst touchdown in BLo heading to stadium guess got get physical in before mini camp, but I'm pumped ab this wknd btw it's great weather here"
  17. Scott and TSW helped changed the game in NFL team / fan relations back in those early days! Not to mention the rogue crew of Buffalo Bills that have all united under one roof... So Scotty and all the mods, thanks for all you do! Scott, maybe you can throw up a PayPal link, people can donate what they want for a few months and then at the home opener you can award the mods with cool cash money. However it's done, I'm down to donate.
  18. When will cheap old man Wilson learn that this is no way to build a football team! We don't need scouts, we need the best FA lineman (with high name recognition) out there!
  19. I mean, they DO work in the NFL for a living - how many people on TBD do? I trust their opinion of who can and can't do what over yours or most others on here...
  20. Fwiw my friend / client was at a meeting and dinner with several of the Jets and coach Ryan. He said the santonio just sat there looking like he wanted to be anywhere else and wasn't very friendly to the fans that were there. He said it was a big contrast to say Revis who was super cool, talkative and friendly. Let's hope that the poor attitude continues into the locker room!
  21. yup, per Schefter's twitter Of this I'm sure: Thomas wants two cracks at Pats this year RT @mortreport: Know it's out there but yes, Jets are discussing Adalius Thomas. It'll be interesting to see if Ryan can bring all of those players together in NY...
  22. Finally! A hypothetical thread about something that's a year away... o_O
