  1. This is a separate rationale than giving up major assets to go for a specific player who may not check all the boxes, though. How did this work out in the last very deep WR draft in 2014?
  2. Not only that, but Bills trade #2 pick to move up 7 slots? Beane would be rightfully burned alive for that trade for that pick in this draft.
  3. I still insist that the best move for both sides is to restructure Star's contract. Star is valuable only in a specific system, and those teams aren't breaking down the door to pay him $8 million/yr. If they restructure his deal that pays about $6 mil/yr and maybe add another year that would be palatable to both
  4. AP says they can't declare a winner in Iowa, due to irregularities and the close margin between Bernie & Pete.
  5. Should have gone though the courts.
  6. Maybe for the Rams, but not that bad for a team trading for him. It's essentially a $10 mil/yr deal for the new team. You can argue that a top 5 RB game-changing RB is worth that. I don't think Gurley is that though.
  7. Still a petulant manchild
  8. Won't matter one bit. I've seen the Star Wars movies. Despite possessing technology to traverse the universe using glorified banana peels for fuel and being able to read and shape minds, people still sleep on ramshackle mattresses in broken down rebar concrete huts (if they're lucky)
  9. Don't forget what Jags gave Bills for a ProBowl DT who was much younger and had upside.
  10. It's not just the MONEY TO BE PAID THIS YEAR. You have to add the unamortized portion of prior bonuses. In Dareus's case, there's still $2.5 million left from his restructuring bonus a few years back, and that needs to be counted against the cap this year no matter what. The dead cap takes all that into account. Dareus's 2020 cap amount is $20 million in cash that's due + $2.5 million accrual from a prior bonus = $22.5 million Thus, Jags will save $20 million of the projected 2020 cap by cutting Dareus. They also can't designate him as a post-June cut because this is the last year of his contract.
  11. At a conference yesterday, an otherwise smart investment manager from a major global bank claimed that the reason for the massive Syrian migration in 2014 was due to a severe drought, caused by global warming. Can't make this stuff up.
  12. The ulterior motive is that there's an ongoing public spat between the two, so anything that happens between the two will always appear disingenuous and calculated to hurt the other guy. For the other three, the next election is paramount, except Alexander. That's why if there was a truly honest, "I'm voting with my conscience" rationale, Alexander is the only one for whom the rationale would fly. For Romney, it's personal, not rational.
  13. This is the kind of wiring normal people don't understand. You're in your 70s, and had a fairly successful political career. Your family was greatly enriched. All you had to do is ride into the sunset with your reputation intact.
  14. If I understand correctly, Bills trade UP in the deepest WR draft in decades and pass up the 2 best available DEs?
  15. That's the only way they can afford Yannick.
  16. The "hate" is there because of ulterior motives by Romney. There probably wouldn't be as much vitriol if Murkowski, Collins or Alexander voted that way.
  17. This is not good news, which is why I hate any reports on surpluses and deficits, without comments on the composition. Trade deficit declined because imports declined, not because exports grew. Exports also declined, BTW.
  18. He wants to live to see next weekend?
  19. On the fence still. Sundays conflict with some spring sports for my son
  20. methinks it's the other way around
  21. In a case of careful what you wish for, but DNC is doing you a favor by blowing him out. Good thing you'll never get to experience the reality of a Bernie presidency because there's not enough insane voters yet.
  22. He's not on the ballot, so he's tied with everyone else
  23. Video proof that Trump is an overgrown child with severe ADHD? Stop the presses!
  24. Looks like Google & Twitter are back at it - Twitter links can't connect on desktop Chrome versions.
