QB Rankings Thought Exercise
C.Biscuit97 replied to whatdrought's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Come on with Allen at 17. At least try to be somewhat objective. Cam is too low. Winston below Mariota??? What has Jimmy G done to be that high? Brady below Matt Ryan? What? with all due respect, this is like a list of super models that has Melissa McCarthy #1. -
DE Jerry Hughes: Signs two-year extension
C.Biscuit97 replied to CaptnCoke11's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, I’m not super angry either way. But it is crazy how fast guys in their 30s can fall off. Mario at 29 had 14.5 sacks. He had 5 the next year and was out of the nfl in 2 years. Obviously, Hughes has more of a motor than Mario but Mario was a much better talent. It happens really fast in the nfl. Hopefully, Hughes has a lot left. -
DE Jerry Hughes: Signs two-year extension

Yeah man, I said we are better with him. I just feel he is overrated on this board. If he was a 31 yo FA with 22 sacks in 4 years, I won’t be thrilled signing him for that contract. But Hughes is at the bottom of the list of Bills problems. But fans bend over backwards to praise this regime’s cap management and they have had some questionable contracts. Mario was such a better player though. He was a legit top 5 DE when he was here. -
Interesting. Just a couple things: 1) none under 60% made it. I would like to know in recent years how many under 60% have made the playoffs. 2) Allen was 2nd last in ypa and AYPA. So obviously there’s work to be down. But you cant be captain checkdown but you also have to be over 60%. It really does matter. Tyrod won’t lose you games but he won’t win them for you either. It’s basically the Alex Smith probably. You can do a lot worse but you are limited with Smith and Taylor.
-
I remember that. I definitely think we improved from possibly being the worst group in the nfl but we might still be bottom 5 unless some players really progress. I guess question i would have is game on the line, who does Allen throw it to knowing they will make the play? Obviously, you start with a 7th and work your way up like Madden. But I think Randolph is one of the most complete TEs in the nfl and Cousins uses his TE. Why are they trying to trade him? Get the Klay Thompson’s. ?
-
I would love Rudolph on this team. What I don’t understand about this trades is why does Minnesota, a team with SB aspirations, want to trade him? But anything like a 3rd or lower works for me.
-
Haha. But you don’t see the problem now? We are going to have to depend a lot on rookies. TE is a position that has a big adjustment period to the nfl. and I know how he finished here, but Prime Clay was so much better than any TE on the roster. I know they tried prioritize the position but they weren’t really getting super duper talent. Kroft was a 3rd TE who couldn’t beat out a guy they said had frying pans for hands. Smith is a linemen. Knox never caught a TD in college in an offense that passed a ton. I think next to qb, this team has completely undervalued the TE position. Allen would greatly benefit from a monster in the middle of the field to throw the ball to. We don’t have anything close to that unless the rookies magically step up, which is a lot to put on them.
-
Hey, Knox. I know you never catch a td in college but guess what? You’re starting in the nfl. TE is stocked??? I feel like TE is like qb for us when we haven’t seen a good one in forever that we don’t know what one looks like. We have a bottom 5 TE group. Better hope Knox is a hidden gem.

Death, Taxes and Peterman lighting it up....
C.Biscuit97 replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We started him to open the season and in the middle of a playoff race. This is why I’m not 100% sold on McDermott. And I have no ill towards him. He just wasn’t good enough. Is there even a dime bag market anymore besides high school kids? -
DE Jerry Hughes: Signs two-year extension
C.Biscuit97 replied to CaptnCoke11's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Top 10??? Dear lord. JJ Watt Chandler Jones chris jones frank clark dee Ford Miles Garrett danielle hunter ryan kerrigan - insanely underrated mack tj watt pierre paul with 7 fingers Cam Jordan Chubb Calais Campbell Lawrence NGAKOUE I might put Hughes with Dunlap. and I don’t hate the player. I just liked the guy three years ago who got paid half as much who we didn’t have to find excuses why he couldn’t get more sacks. And guess the difference between us brother is discovered objectivity. I love the Bills just as much but I don’t punch walls because I talked myself into Nate Peterman being a good nfl QB, which you still do. But cheers boss. ? It’s all good and I like Hughes. I just feel like we’re paying an aging player for past production, which isn’t that great. He is better than what we had but I’d argue he isn’t even at Aaron Schobel’s level (I think he is one of the most underrated Bills of recent history). I also feel Bills fans just accept things. Like a pass rusher doesn’t really need to get sacks or a qb doesn’t really need to throw touchdown passes. We need higher standards haha. And hopefully, Hughes has double digit sacks playing next to Oliver, who I love. -
Bucs finalizing one-year deal with Ndamukong Suh

His career has been disappointing and he’s a scumbag. Now, I don’t think he cares enough to be a scumbag. He is a guy you only sign to 1 year deals. -
DE Jerry Hughes: Signs two-year extension
C.Biscuit97 replied to CaptnCoke11's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess the counter would be you will love any move McBeane will make. ? again, I loved the trade. I love that we got a double digit sack guy for Kelvin Shepard. Can’t temember who the GM was but it was an amazing deal. But we always just settle for stuff as Bills fans. Why can’t Hughes get sacks but Aaron Donald can or other elite defensive players? I don’t feel great about paying a guy tied for 38th in sacks who is going to be 31 (age where a lot of DEs start fading) that much. Overall, it’s fine and we are better with them. But I don’t think Hughes gets this contract on the open market. I think the money helps haha. I really don’t think his market would have been great next year. His production and age won’t dictate it. -
DE Jerry Hughes: Signs two-year extension

Fair points. Let me be clear, I think the Hughes trade was one of the best trades in Bills’ history. He has great energy and seems to have eliminated the brain dead penalties that were his specialty. That said, is there a DE on that list with less sacks than his 21 in 4 years? Is there another one who is going to be 31? the Bills are better with Hughes. But I do I think 32 year old Hughes will be worth $11.5? Nope. He is a number 2 DE. But since it’s a short deal, it’s fairly fine. But I can easily see us being disappointed in the deal at this time next year.? -
Honest question. How does PFF evaluate players without knowing the playcall?
-
Once you break your foot, it is very easily broken again. Killed a bunch of basketball player’s career - Bill Walton and Kevin Mchale. It killed Sammy’s one season because he rushed back too soon. Odds are if we rush Kroft back too soon, it will re-occur. It’s just a sucky injury.

Are there more in football than general society? You should watch “regular” people do at tailgates to watch other people play a game. -
TE Tyler Kroft (Bengals) to the Bills

There are some smart fans on this site. It sucks but foot injuries are no joke. -

That was my first thought watching that video. But surely no one at a EDM festival would do drugs!!! Much less a football player (though Molly doesn’t stay in your system like the dreaded marijuana!!). im not saying he is guilty in every case but he seems like a moron, starting with his awful draft suit. -
High pick TEs struggle as rookies.
-
Yeah, I guess the counter he could have is the Steelers would have run him into the ground since they weren’t bringing him back and he avoided injury/ wear and tear. But he did lose out on $14 million and got less than the Steelers would have paid him. So he kinda took an L. And avoids bathrooms and motorcycles.

DE Jerry Hughes: Signs two-year extension
C.Biscuit97 replied to CaptnCoke11's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess it’s only 2 years but seems like a lot of money for a guy who has had 21 sacks in his last 4 years. Hughes is a number 2 DE who is getting paid almost like a 1. But you have to spend your money somewhere but it seems like they are starting to overpay like the last regime that got killed for it. -
Fake news. You need a shirt and jacket to eat at Tempo.
