National media slowly circling the wagons
C.Biscuit97 replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because some of you talk out of both sides of your mouth and have no consistency. Someone on the media posts a bad thing about the Bills, you trash them and make personal attacks. When they say something positive, they get praised. Be consistent. I dont care and its weird some people do. Do you I guess but be consistent. -
DE Jerry Hughes: Signs two-year extension
C.Biscuit97 replied to CaptnCoke11's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. Oliver was completely misused. It’s also not like he was at Clemson or Bama surrounded by multiple high draft picks. He was the only guy. a stat Sal C had that blew my mind was Kyle Williams was the only DT to have a sack last season! -
Teams Wanting To Pick 1st in 2020.....
C.Biscuit97 replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Then they shouldn’t have added Fitz. Fitz is what he is but he will win some games if he’s the starter. honestly, I don’t think teams really tank in the nfl. It’s a year to year league and too many jobs are on the line. People thought the Jets were going to be awful in 2016 and they won 10 games. If you go half speed in the nfl, you will get hurt. That said, you’re better off being really bad than being 6 or 7 win team. -
DE Jerry Hughes: Signs two-year extension

Oh, I generally agree. I just think Whaley trading for him when he was considered a bust and becoming a double digit sack guy for like $5million is more impressive. This year will will tell us about the McBeane regime. But if you look at the last 2 years, they have one of the worst point differential in the nfl. Sorry boss. It wasn’t totally direct at you. I just think McBeane gets treated with kid gloves. They paid $11 million a season to a guy who has averaged 5 sacks the last four years. It doesn’t seem to be some stroke of genius. -

National media says something bad about the Bills, they are idiots and morons. They say something positive, what a bunch of geniuses!!! honest question, why do some of you care? And when the Bills are good, they get praised all the time. We haven’t been good that much. Should teams like the Raiders get praised? -
With Schwartz, we arguably had the best d line in the nfl and had a defense that shut down prime Aaron Rodgers and Peyton Manning. We weren’t taking about pressures then. Again, I like Hughes. But it seems like Bills fans just settle. Basically everywhere, a sack is better than a pressure. It’s like trying to pretend like 52% completion rate isn’t terrible. It’s ok to want an $11 million dollar DE to get average more 5 sacks in his last four years, especially when he is turning 31. It’s ok to have a qb complete more than 60% of his passes (and hopefully he will). And im not meaning this directly at you. It’s just a frustration as Bills fans that we just act like it’s ok to not want more. We should have high standards because we are the best fans on the plant.

You won’t say this If Hughes had 15 sacks.

DE Jerry Hughes: Signs two-year extension

I’d probably give more credit to the previous regime that acquired Hughes for Kelvin Sheppard, when he cost half as much and put up double digit sacks. I get that fans want to be optimistic. I got tickets to four games this year (most ever). But some of you act like McBeane is some god for pretty pedestrian moves. -

Now do their most recent 3 years and not when he played with Mario, younger Kyle, and Dareus. i like Hughes but most fan bases would sweat a stat like pressures so much over actual sacks. And he’s getting older. I mean you are stuck because we haven’t gotten another quality pass rusher in years. -
He’s getting chances because he’s Jim Kelly’s nephew. He was the last pick of the draft by Elway (who has been awful with evaluating qbs and is Kelly’s friend) and just got signed by Reich, Kelly’s friend. I think his talent is completely overrated here because of his last name. and I love people who can find redemption after screwing. I freely admit I don’t root for guys who had everything handed to them and continuously blew it but keep getting chances because of their family or connections. But that’s just my own bias haha.

Death, Taxes and Peterman lighting it up....
C.Biscuit97 replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yay politics!!! -
1) I was at work and hoping someone can do the work for me 2). Does anyone think Flacco was reason the Ravens won the Sb? 3) touché on that Luck season. Didn’t realize he was so low. He also threw 300 more passes than Allen that year and averaged more than 100 more yards passing. But point taken. but the overwhelming data, in today’s nfl, you aren’t making the playoffs with a sub 60% passer unless you have an elite defense. My point was more that he won’t single handedly lose a game like Nate Peterman. Peterman murdered the Bills. Trust me, I wasn’t the biggest Tyrod fan but he has a winning record as a starter. Like Fitz could light up a team and win a game with his arm. He also could threw 4 ints. Tyrod, for better or worse, wasn’t going to be the sole reason you lose.

For the most part, I agree. Except I don’t know a person who has a good thing to say about him from Buffalo. He has been kicked off every team he has been on. And that Ole Miss offense was gimmicky. It is built to put up numbers. And not to be mean, but Kelly isn’t exactly a rocket scientist. But it I do feel bad for him. Dude had to really grind to make a decent life for himself. He’s had nothing handed to himself and never threatened to shoot up a bar. Good, misunderstood, blue collar guy. 12th chance is the charm.

He was a fifth round draft pick who was said to be the most pro ready. He played on a team that and to the playoffs. Maybe he just isn’t good enough for the nfl. There’s no shame on that. But the hype he got here was a little crazy. Scariest part is he pays $100 for that haircut. -
NFL awards 2021, 2023 drafts to Cleveland, Kansas City

Good for those cities. I might be in the minority but I’ve enjoyed Cleveland. Never been to KC. -

Pot meet kettle! You post the same things about Bills just change the names. And my life is great thanks. If I’ve become a “damaged” (realistic and non homer is the correct term) fan, it’s because of the Bills. Much like you, I was the guy who apologized after girlfriend cheated on me. Now, I don’t believe her when she says she is really different this this time and she has to show me! ? -

I just don’t get why the other players, besides McKinley who I’m not a fan of, are able to get sacks. It’s not a bad thing to tackle the qb. -
QB Rankings Thought Exercise

I think Wilson is a major reason for the run game success and Lockett. Lockett is a very specialized player that Wilson has made into a very good player. Baldwin wasn’t drafted. Wilson, without the attempts, makes receivers stars. I was late on the Wilson train but I agree he is elite. Not to mention, he has spent years behind a garbage oline. Agree with pretty much all of this but I still think Brady is elite. You don’t keep going to SBs if you aren’t elite. His last 2 years would arguably be the greatest 2 seasons of any Bills qb. -

I respect because it’s good for discussion. I try to look at things objectively. If this wasn’t a Bills board, where would Allen be ranked? Probably near the bottom. But you’re right and I’ll try to throw my own rankings some time soon. Good discussion though. -

I do feel Dalton gets a bad rap because of his red hair. I feel like if we took his name of his resume, he would be thought of better. He would be the 2nd best qb in Bills history. I really like Watson and think he has crazy upside but it’s way too earlier for him being higher than Rivers. -

I was going to laugh at you for talking about a 60yo but I saw the pictures. I feel bad for her daughters because their mom is way hotter. -

You have been very clear since before the draft your reasons for not liking Peterman. For reasonable people, it never seemed personal. But for some reason if you have doubts about Bills player here, it is personal and you’re just a hater.
