Who’s angry broseph? I had a great weekend and hope you did too. I’m just not delusional. We wanted that crazy person and got completely lucky he didn’t want us. It’s like that crazy hot girl you would give anything to date. You try everything to date here and she just laughs at you and says no. Then she ends up dating your friend and you are super depressed and getting laughed at by everyone. Then she burns down your friends house and keys his car. Then you are like, wow, I’m so glad I didn’t try and date that crazy girl!!!

Yes, there seems to be as some revisionist history here. If Brown wanted to come here, he’d be here pulling his crap. As someone who never wanted him in the first place and thought it showed how BS “culture” truly is (check the Antonio Brown to Buffalo thread ?), Beane got truly lucky. But some here will tout him as genius for not meeting Brown’s demands. For as talented as he is, he is a team killer. If he couldn’t happy in Pittsburgh, he is going to struggle being happy anywhere. But thank god he didn’t want to come here. Beane is a genius.

You’re just rambling old man. ? I have no idea what point you’re making. Even though every single evidence shows Allen (a rookie so he gets a pass) and Barkley have been below average passers (significantly), they are really good? You’re the one going against the grain and you make no sense. But enjoy your night of watching Matlock reruns.

Thank you. I’m not knocking Allen. I loved some of the throws he made. It’s just that everything in preseason should be taken with major grains of salt,
-
So what stat matters then? All numbers show Barkley is barely nfl caliber (I’m fine with him as a backup but he’s extremely replaceable) and Allen has some of the worst passing stats in the nfl. Obviously this can all change but to just pretend like Barkley isn’t a bottom tier backup and Allen has made it at this point is kinda silly.
-
Yeah, there is nothing that exists that proves this to be anywhere close than the truth. This is just a lie. Is this what Fox News told you to think? Well that would be Allen’s career high. ?
-
No injuries is the biggest taken away from a preseason game. So that’s a W.
-
Qb rating shouldn’t be compared either. It’s a completely different league with much easier rules for qbs and receivers. Kelly and those guys numbers would have looked much better in this era. I dont think a rational person can dispute that. I definitely won’t say he’s very good. He can be good and is probably middle of the pack in terms of starters. He certainly isn’t on Marino’s level. When Marino hit 5,000, 3,000 was the sign of a good passing season for a qb. Again, Blake Bortels beat Jim Kelly’s season high in passing yardage twice!!! It’s so much easier to put up stats now.
-
It was supposed to link to the 3rd preseason against the Steelers where Manuel was throwing dimes. I could do this for a million average to below average qbs. Then the season starts, and it’s completely different.

They Might...Just Might, Be Really Good

Has a team ever won every preseason, regular season, and postseason game? ? -
They have to be one of the most snakebite teams in the league. So much talent and always see to get burned by injuries. Luckily, they don’t really have fans. crazy idea but would you trade one of our starters to them? I actually feel great about our secondary and it’s definitely McDermott’s strength.?
-
http://www.nfl.com/player/ejmanuel/2539228/profile sorry, I’m not trying to crush your optimism. I’m really not. But we see this every year. But I do hope this is finally the year where it translates to the regular season but I’ve been burned too many times.
-
Yup, it’s a lazy argument people use. If you don’t think Kaepernick is one of the best 64 qbs, you’re a liar. If Allen has a 4 td to 1 int ratio this year, we would build him a statue.
-
That loser Aaron Rodgers went 6-9-1 last year. I won’t want him. Bum. and clearly, the 49ers have completely turned things around since they got rid of CK. They are a powerhouse now!
-
I do totally respect this opinion as well. Personally, I respect a millionaire who speaks up for less fortunate people and sports is a huge platform. But I definitely get your position as well. i do think it’s a pretty awful look for Kaepernick to be out of the league that just drafted Joe Mixon and Jeffrey Simmons in the draft. And this didn’t cause a 1/5 of the outrage of CK, who literally hasn’t done one criminal thing in his life.
-
Right now, we have 2 qbs with career qb ratings of 67.9 and 68.3. Might be a little early for this. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/B/BarkMa00.htm we saw the best game and 2nd win of Barkley’s career. Really good dude and great locker room guy but he is the definition of a journeyman qb.
-
I thought he played well but every year, we all get fooled by the preseason. It sucks but it’s completely meaningless and just a completely different game. I have too many times getting excited by Trent and EJ to put any real stock in the preseason. But i do like he was taking the short stuff.
-
That’s where I’m at as well. He is a better qb than Barkley and it’s not even a question. If you have Allen, Kaepernick, and put Jackson on practice squad, you have 3 qbs who have a very similar skill set. What blows my mind is how people pick and choice what they take stands on. We had Trump loving RI, one of the biggest scumbags ever, and some fans would still welcome him back after he threatened to shoot up a funeral home and beat up his grandma. He’s just misunderstood. Personally, and from playing sports, the locker room is filled with different personalities and that’s what makes sports great. I would welcome Trump lover Nick Bosa as much as I would welcome Josh Rosen. As long as you’re not a scumbag, I want the best team possible. But Kaepernick should have punched a women or beat a baby. He’d be in the league right now. And no this is never happening. Yeah, I hope they keep him on the practice squad. Odds are he won’t amount to anything but he has nfl skills.
-
? if this is your breaking point and not the women beating and concussion stuff, you need to look in the mirror. The guy talked about stuff he saw growing up, made a very good career out of it, then became an extremely successful businessman. Sounds like the definition of an American rages to riches story. Maybe he should have just gotten a small loan of million dollars to be a hero to some of you.
-
I remember this story very clearly. For some reason, I liked the Utah Jazz and Karl Malone as a kid. When I heard about the crap he pulled with Bell and his mother, I kinda hated after and got rid of his jersey. He’s a scumbag.
