Long, long way to go. These are the contracts that murder your franchise. You can’t miss on paying qbs. There are like 3-4 guys who are actually worth this type of deal. Not really. Brady doesn’t have a strong arm and has played with some garbage receivers but has a career 7.5 ypa. Great qbs are point guards Who get the ball to their weapons in space so they can make things happen.

It’s absolutely nuts that Pittsburgh could lose Bell and Brown for almost nothing and still be a contender. I know a lot of people hate them but what a well run franchise. They are absolutely loaded at receiver too.

I think it depends how much their running compared to their passing stats. Young has one season over 500 yards rushing so I think it’s a low percentage. FT never had over 400 yards rushing in a season. but this stat definitely favors running qb, kinda like fantasy football. Brady passed for 5,235 passing yards and 109!!! rushing yards in 2011. That’s a total of 5,344 yards. NE had 6,848 yards that year. So Brady’s % was 78%. In 2015, Bortles has 4,428 passing yards and 310 rushing for a total of 4,738 yards. The Jags had a total 5,581, making Bortles 85% of the Jags offense. Would you say that Bortles was carrying the Jags more than Brady was carrying the Pats? Kinda insane. Interesting stat but really doesn’t mean that much in the big picture.

What does Darnold's performance say about Jordan Palmer?
C.Biscuit97 replied to cage's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don’t think this is fair. That organization is a disaster. And it’s not like he has had some good moments as a pro. Which receiver do they have that would start over our guys? -
What prior material? Why are some of you so sensitive? You guys would really be going nuts over the Wyoming QB who completed 58% of his passes in the MWC, didn’t make 1st or 2nd team his last year there, and is completing 58% of his nfl passes and averaging 190 passing yards a game if he wasn’t a Bill? there were plenty of reasons to doubt Allen. If he succeeds, he will be the exception rather than the rule. But stop attacking like it’s so agenda. We would have been questioning him as a NFl qb if the Jets drafted him. dude had the best passing game of his career against a terrible team. Kudos to him. Now prove it against good teams and be consistent and he will get all the praise. You don’t understand why a SB/ MVP might get a bigger leash than Allen at this point?

Would You Trade For Zach Ertz?
C.Biscuit97 replied to Buffalo03's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, why would Philly do it unless they get a great pick back? They have a great strength. I would love having 2 awesome TEs. -
Well, Brady and Wilson weren’t 1st rounders so it’s not exactly apples to apples. I was really high on Lamb and it is a good class. But Diggs is huge for us. I guess the way to look at it is easier to bring a young receiver in when you have an established guy. Diggs is perfect for Allen.
-
Agreed. It sucks because it seems like a terrible way to build up confidence for a young guy but I guess that’s the job. i can’t believe how bad Steven Gostowski is now. He was like one of the best ever and he is awful. such a crazy, important job.

GR Stat of the day, re: Bills vs Jets
C.Biscuit97 replied to Buftex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I also think they did this because the Jets have a really good run defense and their weakness is their secondary. I thought that minus so many qbs runs, it was a great game plan. i remember the Pats played the Vikings when they had the number 1 defense and passed the first 15 plays in a row. You need to play to to ur strengths but also take advantage of the opponent’s weaknesses. -
What? All I ever do is mention how this board loves putting down Jackson, a MVP, and then want to start a riot whenever someone questions Allen. The logic of doubting a MVP/ Heisman trophy winner at 23 and then getting upset when someone criticizes Allen is crazy. that said, they are currently the best QBs of their draft class.

Big Ben could have no legs and still be a huge upgrade over what they had last year. I believe the stat was Big Ben had more td passes than the Steelers had combined the last 4 games of last year. They might have had the worst qb play in the nfl and they went 9-7. Is this good? Phil Simms is the worst.
-
I mean it’s a kicker but why would the Ravens do that? Plus that trade would melt brains. and I can’t believe how bad kicking was. It’s crazy there aren’t 32 guys who can’t be really good at the job. Bass gets a pass because it’s a win and first game of his career. But his leash has to be short. Too important to mess around with.

Great returns

You do realize that Jackson and Newton have won MVPs and are routinely criticized here all the time. Prior to the Jets game, he had a career high 266 passing yards and averaged 190 for his career. Those are really bad for a qb, so it’s not like they are Just making up stuff. if Allen continues with these games, it will stop. Consistency is the key. No one doubts his ability to make amazing plays. Just needs to string quarters and games together to become a legit guy. Nice start. You determine intelligence based on if a person likes the QB of your favorite team? Where did you get your MBA, Gordon Gecko?

I just think Lamar is really, really good and would be good anywhere. Because so far, he has been really good anywhere. Louisville wasn’t exactly loaded with talent. and on paper, the Cleveland situation looks awesome for a qb. I hated Baker in college but I thought he had Brees potential but he might be an Oklahoma creation. Murray looks much, much better than him. Disagree. That show is pretty funny but to each their own.

What does Darnold's performance say about Jordan Palmer?
C.Biscuit97 replied to cage's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It says the Jets are completely garbage and ruined any chance of Darnold being good. I hope he goes to a real franchise because I still think he has a lot of potential. The Jets looked like the worst team in the nfl. Such a dumb, poorly run team. -
Yeah, I posted similar stuff. He is kinda right about the Jackson stuff. There is little doubt right now he should have been the #1 pick with Allen being the second best qb. I actually had Allen and Jackson ranked the same coming out because I was worried about them as passers but loved the physical skills. Both have found good situations and are doing well.

If you had a friend who said he was this great ladies man but all he ever did was hook up with 2s, what would you think? The Jets are like a 2, maybe a 1. They might be the worst team in the NFL. If Allen wants “respect”, he will need to do it to a 7 or higher and he has a bunch of chances last year. personally, minus the fumbles and a couple passes, I thought it was a strong game. He should have a good game this week as well and then the real tests start. But that was a perfect preseason game and Allen looked confident. Now do it against the big dogs. and bomani, who is alright but seems a bit cranky, thinks that if Allen was black, he would be viewed like how other young black qbs used to be. Hell, we have “experts” here who put down Lamar Jackson after winning the MVP. There is some truth there but Allen definitely takes a lot of criticism but again, it’s not completely unwarranted. But if strings together games where he can win with his arm and against good opponents, he will get his respect. So all in all, a very good start to the season for him.
