  1. Would a trade up be out of the question?
  2. I just think that this is the kind of guy that you can build a team around, a franchise type player. I also believe that the DL is a bigger need for us than what people are realizing, it's not too far behind our QB position need. A lot of our needs and issues can be resolved with a couple of good moves and a competent coach, which I think that we just might have with McDermott. This Jonathan Allen is a great player and a real quality kid, players/people like him only come around every once in awhile. I'd love to see the Bills draft him. Go Bills!
  3. All I said was if, not saying that they will. I was only going through the complete progression of solving the QB situation. What I expect is that if TT won't restructure then he'll be replaced with a bridge QB until they figure out a long term solution.
  4. I expect the Bills to move on if TT isn't willing to restructure the current contract, as in they should. If that's the case then hopefully they can trade him for some kind of return, whatever that may be. If they can't trade for a valid QB like Brees, Rivers etc etc then acquiring a bridge QB like Romo, Cutler, McCown etc etc would be the next logical expectation until they can draft a franchise QB in this year's draft or next. The Bills are in a better position than most QB needy teams due to our strong rushing offense.
  5. How about a tag and trade? The Titans need CB help and they pick #5 overall in this year's draft. Trade them Gilmore and our 1st rd pick (#10 overall) for their #5 pick and their 2nd rd pick and possibly a late rd pick (4th or 5th rder) of their's as well.
  6. Believe it or not I think that DL should be a priority. Kyle is either done or almost done, can't trust Dareus, add and build Shaq and I can't weigh in accurately on Washington. Other positions of need can be either addressed early in the draft or in FA. I would love for the Bills to find a way to get DL Jonathan Allen. Oops, I screwed that all up! I thought that this thread was dedicated for our 1st pick in the draft. It just goes to show that one shouldn't post and talk at the same time on an IPhone! Lol!
  7. You're breaking my heart and I wish that there was something that I could say or do to lift this heartache from you but unfortunately I know that there isn't. I too went through some great pain with my oldest son because of addiction but thankfully he got through and turned his life over to Christ. 2 of my sons have been shot and stabbed, once in the heart, but through the Grace of God they were both saved. No football today for me, my heart and mind are on you. I pray for Danny's salvation and for God to lift this pain from his parents. I know that it's dark for you now, I wish that I could do more for you.
  8. I'm looking forward to the draft and seeing what is going to unfold. The first 3 teams, Cleveland, SAN Francisco and Chicago, are all heavily rumored to be taking a QB. Romo should be in high demand for some of these QB needy teams so there is no need for the Bills to overpay, even if they do become a potential suitor. If Cleveland does indeed trade for Garoppolo then hopefully one of the other early teams makes a play for Romo. I would also like to see CarsonPalmer come back for another season so the Cardinals won't feel the urgency so much for his replacement. With all that being said then if the Bills don't want Taylor then releasing him would take another team out of the QB Sweepstakes. I, once again, would be all for the Bills make a play for Cutler as a stop gap so they can have more time to develope Cardale Jones and for them to also draft the best avail QB at the #10 spot without having to over pay and reach for one in this year's draft. From most of the threads on this board it seems like the majority around here definitely don't want Cutler, Romo and Taylor but I don't see how it could not be 1 of those 3. If it's not one of them then what could be an alternative, a big trade for Brees? I don't know who it's going to be but so far none are overwhelming so I'm real curious on how the Bills are going to figure out their QB position.
  9. To have the chance to resurrect his career with and through playing for Dennison may result in Cutler being willing to restructure his contract to friendlier terms. Once Cutler left Denver he never had much of an OL, we do. In addition to us having a strong running game will only make him more effective. Dennison runs a zone blocking scheme. That allows better play action plays to unfold. Cutler can sling it, he just needs to play within the game plan, no more, no less. Here's what I believe what Cutler brings to the table: 1. Hopefully a better contract. 2. Experience. 3. He can make ALL the throws. 4. A bridge to our next QB, whether that be Cardale or a future draft pick (Watson?). 5. More than a game manager. 6. Redemption, not only for himself but more importantly for this franchise. 7. He gives us more flexibility in this year's draft.
  10. Jay Cutler is Rick Dennison's prodical son, he needs to reunite with him in Buffalo! http://www.buffalobills.com/team/coaches/dennison_rick/555ee5cd-0696-4208-ba2f-cdd087f434f6 https://dressedtoat.files.wordpress.com/2013/01/chi-chicago-bears-phil-emery-i-am-a-jay-cutler-001-1.jpeg
  11. I'm at work and I can't go through 7 pages of this thread while I'm at work but I think that Cutler as the next QB is more of a possibility than people are giving it credit. Real quick, Dennison was the OC for the first 3 years of Cutler's career. Cutler is Chicago's incumbent QB, he's on the way out. Brandon Marshall and/or Eddie Royal are viable adds as WRs and Royal is a potential replacement for Robert Woods. Check out what Marshall had to say about Cutler last August before anyone thinks that they are mortal enemies. Funny thing is that Cutler and Marshall's careers are going the wrong way but for the most part they thrived together, they had an unbelievable chemistry together. Tyrod's contract is far outweighs his production/potential. The more that I think about it Dennison's hiring just might not be a coincidence. There is more that I could speculate on but I got to go before I get released into free agency!
  12. Dennison is rumored to be fiercely loyal and to Kubiak in particular. I fully expect Klimt Kubiak to be added to our staff. Mostly likely it will be in some kind of capacity with the QBs.
  13. I never said Cutler sucks. How did you get my name on that comment??
  14. I'd like to see the Bills address the OL in FA instead of the draft. Obviously the right side is a concern, maybe Kujo could be a solution there but Corey seems to have some issues the last couple of years so some insurance wouldn't hurt. Our new OL Coach Juan Castillo should have some good insight on either of these 2. http://www.rotoworld.com/recent/nfl/8575/rick-wagner http://www.rotoworld.com/recent/nfl/3701/andrew-whitworth
  15. Well, I'm glad that at least we got an OC at least. With that being said, and I admit that I don't know anything about him, I hope that we are not just settling. One other thing, I thought that he had something to do with Indiapolis. Maybe it was another Dennison. Oh well, go Bills???
  16. One other thing that I forgot to mention. Believing that McDermott will be making some big changes to the current roster and not being a coach but instead a great teacher I then expect for us to trade down in this year's draft to accumalate more picks/players.
  17. For all the ones puking on Cutler I'd like to hear your solutions to the QB position. As of now the Bills are going to carry over $2.8 million in salary cap space for next year, the 10th smallest in the whole league. Chopping Tyrod will add another $13 million. So, do you really think that we should or will keep Tyrod now? I hate to break the news but I wouldn't get my hopes up on us getting Romo. So what do we do for a QB? Cutler is only a bridge for a year, possibly 2. Say what you want about Cutler but he's experienced, should be able to be had for a reasonable cost, relatively young (32?), has a cannon for an arm which is valuable in our stadium and is able to air it out to Sammy and others. Julius Thomas already got paid, didn't produce, mostly because he didn't stay healthy. I would expect him to get a incentive laden contract from the next team he plays for. Replace the high priced WRs with competent veterans, they don't have to be stars just reliable because we got Sammy for the flash and big time TEs (Clay/Thomas). O'Leary is coming on and is the blocking TE that we need which he can make some plays in the passing game himself. I forgot to add this link. http://buffalonews.com/2017/01/18/bills-carry-2-8-million-salary-cap-space/
  18. I'm sure that there will be nothing to fear but it will all depend on how McDermott percieves him. With that being said there will be quite of change under McDermott's watch and I'm sure that there will be some decisions that will have a bunch of us up in arms initially. Better expect some things to happen that you're not going to like. Just saying.....
  19. Van Pelt for OC. We spent a ton of money on Clay and Van Pelt is coming from a WC offense. Being a former QB Bill makes Van Pelt attractive to me. Matter of fact word has it that Jacksonville's TE Julius Thomas is going to be released this offseason. I would love to see the Bills ink him to a contract. Belichick has a great offense and utilizes multiple TEs. Why can't we? I expect that we'll be losing Robert Woods and I don't want to see the Bills use a high draft pick on a WR. I say go TE heavy, grab a veteran like Anquan Bolden for a #2 WR, get rid of Goodwin, keep Hunter (I liked what I've seen of him) and whatever young WR that they like like Powell and still keep a run heavy offense with the RBs that we have (Shady & TD Mike). Boot Bush, dump Tyrod, unless of course Van Pelt & McDermott want to developed him, sign Cutler and grab another promising QB in the draft. Let Cutler be just a cut above of being a game manager, run first, use Sammy for the big plays and work the TEs to move the chains for 1st downs. Also grab another OL (OT) or 2 in the draft. Defensively we need to load up in the draft, primarily the secondary. It's important to try and retain a few of our FA LBs, Z Brown & Lorax in particular but I don't know if that's possible. I hate to say it and I don't want it but sadly if McDermott is going to take full control, and I fully expect him to, it will start with the defense and that might be the end of Hughes. Not because of ability or work ethic but more to do with attitude and self control. I love the guy but he does time after time makes the stupidest penalties and at the worse time. That won't fly withMcDermott and even though I think that both of them are real @$$holes, Slob Ryan & Doug Moron, Hughes has gotten into it with both of them, 2 different coaching regimes. I get the distinct impression that McDermott is a no nonsense kind of guy and he won't put up with that of bs and insubordination. Jerry should fetch us a pretty good value in a trade. I might be wrong about all that, I hope I am but it won't shock me though if I'' somewhat accurate about the McDermott/Hughes relationship. As far as our dopey pot smoking DT Dareus goes it wouldn't bother me a bit if the Bills could get out from under his contract and get something for his stupid fat ass. I love his ability but he can't be trusted and if he slips up again it will be a gigantic mess, business wise says to chalk it up to a lesson that was learned the hard way. If there is any truth to the latest speculations that there is going to be a rebuild and McDermott is going to be allowed to put it all back together brick by brick then this is one big fat brick that needs to be replaced. Even if Kyle doesn't retire then he's very close to being done anyways. The Bills believe it or not need to figure out their DL real soon before it's too late. I think that our best way to be competitive for the present time is to try and find a few more of these aging veterans like Lorax as we get rid of some of our dead wood, implement the veteran roster with young talent through the draft and let McDermott get his groove on by constructing a team the right way for the long haul unlike that idiot Ryan. As much as switching coaches sets us back I really believe that if we would of kept that clown Ryan we would of been set back even further. In light of our state of affairs I would rather take a step back for a year or 2 to get a team built the right way for the long haul. Go Bills!
  20. I don't know, I'm not gonna hold it against the guy. I don't think that he meant anything by it, maybe he was just trying to get his teammates some public credit. I wasn't a McCoy fan in the beginning, matter of fact I was livid, I was so pissed that we traded off Kiko, especially for him but like what hondo in seattle said earlier McCoy is growing on me. Hey, I can admit when I'm wrong and McCoy truly does have mad talent and I like the way that he is starting to really embracing his teammates and I think being a Bill as well especially in light of what's been going on here since he's been here.
  21. If Aaron comes back I won't be the least worried about his play, I'll just worry about him, the guy is all heart and he'll once again lay it all out there. With that being said I don't care who you are, anybody taking that kind of blindsided shot from Landry would have gotten hurt as well.
  22. The icing on the cake is if McDerott would reach out to Brian Dawkins (former Clemson player) and add him to his staff (secondary asst?).
  23. Drafting another Clemson player in Philadelphia would be pretty ironic. It would be kind of full circle, McDermott, Castillo, McCoy, Watkins and Lawson, that's an awful lot of dots connected!
  24. The more that I think about it the more that I realize that this new hire has nothing to do about the Xs and the Os, it's all about putting descipline and order into this team. McDermott has got this pit bull to do the dirty work by being the enforcer. For all we know Waufle might be one and done. McDermott said that he is methodical about himself, this might be one of those type of moves. If so I say well played.
