  1. While I learned to love Shady it stands to reason that he is our biggest bargaining chip. Before everybody starts puking our responses just stop and think, the guy is 30 year’s old and he’s not going to single handedly bring us to the Super Bowl. Successful franchises move on and retain value for their aging gridiron stars (New England, Philadelphia under Andy Reid regime, etc etc). Under this his philosophy and speaking of Philadelphia, I believe they are our best outlet to for a starting QB. This would not only allow us to solidify the QB position but also let us retain our best resources (early draft picks) to strengthen the rest of our roster. What I would like to see is for the Bills to trade McCoy and our 2019 6th rd draft pick for Foles, RB Corey Clement and their 2019 4th rd pick. This would enable the Bills to use their 2018 top draft picks on defense, possible C if still needed and I would also like to see them draft UGA RB Sony Michel with their 2nd rd pick. In FA I’d also like for the Bills acquire soon to be released RB DeMarco Murray to a team friendly contract.
  2. I would love to have him back but don’t expect it. I’d be alright with him signing with any other team except the Patriots. That would be a nightmare.
  3. Belichick goes to the Giants and make Sammy their #1 FA signing. Good way to resurrect Eli, ODB and Sammy, that would be quite the tandem.
  4. What a twist of fate this is! It’s good to see that Dareus was happy to hear that the Bills have finally made it to the post season. No matter how the game turns out I wish him well with his new team. http://www.firstcoastnews.com/mobile/article/sports/nfl/jacksonville-jaguars/jaguars-dt-marcell-dareus-on-playing-the-bills-in-the-playoffs-you-cant-make-this-stuff-up/503855989
  5. During the game, 2nd half I believe, Tony Romo was very complimentary of the Bills. Trying to paraphrase but basically he thought the Bills have a great future, liked the coaching etc etc. at one point I felt that he had to hold back from criticizing the QB position. I wonder if he would be tempted to come out of retirement if he felt that he would be a good fit for a team. This is strictly based on nothing other than getting an impression that he thought very well of the Bills and the direction that they are taking.
  6. Unfortunately Hughes' reaction was the only example of intensity last night. I can deal with losing but not like last night. The Bills were embarrassing, they played like pussies.
  7. A franchise that nobody respected, a team of nobodies, a collection of unwanted/unheralded players and a coach that didn't generate a lot of hoopla when there were splashier names being floated around for HC positions. The link below says it pretty good, the Bills are a ragtag bunch. I couldn't think of a sweeter position to be in. Go Bills! Bills Mobile: Are the Bills a serious contender in the AFC? http://yi.nzc.am/dPTipS
  8. I agree. The Saints' WR Brandon Coleman could probably be had. Coleman and a 7th rd pick for Washington would seem fair to me.
  9. I'm driving up Saturday night, hoping to be at the Tavern between 10:30-11:00 pm. Really looking forward to a Beef on 'Wick, it's been a long time since I had some great Buffalo food! Between living in Florida and Georgia for the past 25 years I'm jacked up to be around Bills' fans again.
  10. Is that next store to Amos South End? I went there for a concert over 2 years ago and stumbled into this great Buffalo bar right next store. I'm fortunate enough to be going and better yet got 4 tickets to a luxury suite. There's a price to pay though, it's a Panthers' luxury suite and I can't wear any Bills' wear, not even a hat, and have to be reserved in my cheering. Talk about bitter sweet!
  11. I didn't mean to sound like I was getting defensive, I was only trying to explain the basis of the concept. Osweiler was only a small part of it, it was more of getting out from under Dareus' contract if they could. Well, I said enough and I see that I'm not welcomed around here anymore. I guess it's time just to be a spectator from now on.
  12. Thank you! Finally somebody answered the question! Let me be clear, my main point is this isn't about the players, not even really about the dollars but more so about the money for the slotted positions involved and the dependability of the person. If these massive contracts can be exchanged then maybe it makes more sense to pay a QB big money vs a DT, especially a DT that is 1 strike away from a big time suspension and doesn't show any kind of growth from his past actions. Who knows, maybe Osweiler could improve enough to where he could be more marketable, especially being under an OC/scheme that he has some familiarity with. As far as Dareus goes I just think that sooner or later we are gonna take it on the chin with this guy and end up with nothing. Keep in mind, this regime has no responsibility with Dareus and his contract, this can and will be all blamed on Whaley.
  13. Go listen to Dareus' interview about what happened. Go ahead, pin your hopes on this idiot. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when the next time he screws up. This guy is immature and just doesn't get, he doesn't take responsibility or have any kind remorse for his behavior. Love his play, hate his attitude.
  14. Who knows, Gase has the connection with the Bears. Would Kevin White and some compensation for Landry work?
  15. I get it, it's no big deal. If people want to get pissed off and dump on me it's alright. If it makes them feel better then it least serves a purpose.
  16. Once again for all the football experts the question was can the cap numbers be manipulated for both organizations to be able to trade both players. I never mentioned or discussed what the additional compensation would have to be. You people make me laugh. Everybody acts like Dareus is some kind of sacred cow. Ever since he got paid he hasn't been worth a **** and was extremely immature, still is, and reckless prior to that massive contract. If he screws up again he's gone and we get zip, nada, nothing. Yeah he can play, when he's healthy and/or eligible. Keep on hanging your hat on him, he's been highly unreliable so far and the way he's starting this season off it doesn't appear that he's getting the new regime's message. Osweiler, I don't know how good of a QB he can be. He showed enough promise for Elway, remember that guy, I think at one time he was a QB, and oh yeah, his coach Kubiak, I think he was too at one time. Coincidentally Osweiler was tutored under our current OC Dennison. So I wouldn't be too surprised that in the last 24 hours Osweiler's name has been discussed to some degree, with or without Dareus being involved.
  17. Sorry folks but Dareus is as good as gone, it's just a matter of when. Oh, btw, it looks like we are in serious need of some QBs.
  18. Ok, first of all that is why I am asking the question about the cap ramifications, it's too complicated to figure out. I was just hoping for someone to explain if numbers could be worked out on their contracts but I should have known better around here. Secondly he played for Dennison in Denver and at the time of him becoming a FA Denver was trying to retain him. Last but not least the guy is 6'7", it looks like the Cardale trade is going to haunt us.
  19. Ok, I hate to break anybody's bubble but it's quite obvious that Dareus won't be retiring as a Bill, even before last night's time out. Yates suck, Tyrod's kind of on the frail side and now he's got a concussion. That's a terrible way to start the season for any team. Maybe Peterman is the answer but the kid is a rookie and outside of him and Taylor we ain't got **** for QBs. Bringing in any significant name, if that's even possible, would command big dollars. Dareus and Taylor's contracts kind of prevents that. Don't be fooled with this regime, they are more than happy to play moneyball. Even if Dareus did behave himself and didn't already have 2 strikes against him they would still be looking to get rid of him due to that massive contract. This could be a perfect excuse for them.
  20. I looked up their contract details but it's so detailed I couldn't make heads or tails out of it. If so Cleveland would have to cough up other compensation but I'm wondering if the numbers could be worked out if so.
  21. I didn't like the way he was acting smug about pulling off the 2 trades without either team knowing about the other. Oh well, I guess that I'm wrong again, I was thinking that maybe we got a nice sensible GM but so far he's striking me as a real jerk off.
  22. I would love for the Bills to acquire Kevin White but is probably unrealistic. Latimer is apparently on the hot seat and maybe a change of scenery would make a difference for him. I have been thinking about our WR situation since Sammy was traded and I feel that the recent acquisitions that we made is not answering the 2nd outside receiver adequately. I expect, or at least hope, that this position will be further addressed. What I have come to wonder is that Miami has not secured WR Jarvis Landry and thinking that this could very well developed into a Sammy Watkins type situation for them. Their coach Adam Gase has had ties to both White and Latimer and I wouldn't be too surprised if one of them ended up on their roster. White is more of a long shot because there hasn't been anything of note that he is available but considering his professional history it wouldn't shock me if he became available in a trade scenario. Latimer is more of a possibility because of his lack of production and especially if he became a roster casualty. Miami's team reminds me an awful lot of Buffalo's and I expect it to be a battle between these 2 teams for 2nd place in the AFC East.
  23. I haven't heard much if any on Holmes and Streeter is brittle, he even got banged a bit in tonight's game.
  24. I'm doing this off an IPhone so bear with me. The other day Beane was being interviewed by Mike Florio and made a quick remark about making another trade, or that it is a possibility. My point is, especially after Sammy was traded, is that if the Bills really are not trying to tank it then they need to at least try and replace Sammy with a big, strong, fast WR that can play on the outside. We have ammunition to get this done with some decent players who may not be a good fit under this new regime and a plethora of draft picks. Enter Kevin White. He would be a good fit on this team and could possibly be had. I'm not a GM so I don't know what would be fair compensation but I would imagine that someone like Ragland and/or draft pick(s) would be the nucleus of such a trade. They play a 3/4 defense and while Danny Trevathan is a quality ILB I'm not so sure of his counterpart Jerrell Freeman. One other thing, after tonight's game a concern of mine going into the Philly game appears to be more of an issue than what I first feared and that is the LT position. This looks like it could be a big problem for us if Cordy can't get healthy quickly. Someone mentioned in the game thread about Brandon Albert. That might not be too shabby of an idea if that OL can't get their **** together.
