I think that our defense stands a good chance vs Ravens
Tipster19 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I totally agree on your points, especially the one on Shaq. I was going to get into that but I had to cut it short due to being at work. Oops, I hope the boss isn’t a member on the message board. -
Our DL has really been improved with the additions of Star and Phillips. Penetrating the pocket is going to be a massive difference for Hughes to getting to the QB. Flacco is under fire to perform and he definitely has a propensity of throwing interceptions. That’s right into the teeth of of our strength on defense and that is our secondary. I would like to see the LB position add a couple more players but the Ravens’ offense is being retooled as well with new WRs and nothing that really scares me at their RB position. I noticed that there’s several names along the DL that I don’t recognize but if we can get any kind of return out of any of them will be an added bonus. What really inspired this this post is that I think that we’re fortunate to be facing Flacco and their new offensive pieces. I would think that Flacco will play the entire game, regardless of his production. This, in my option, definitely should favor us. I don’t want our team to face a new QB that we have no book on, especially as someone as dangerous as Lamar Jackson. I think that if Jackson would enter this game at any point would be a big problem for us, especially if he were to expose, in my opinion, our biggest weakness on defense which is our LBers. Maybe I’m wrong about our LBers but that is what I’m thinking at this time and I definitely don’t want to be proven right about that. On the the other hand what I feel what could give us a chance would be the same thing that would allow the Ravens to beat us and that is our offense against their defense. We need McCoy and that OL to really step up and whoever is in the pocket for us will have to make a few plays as well. Maybe McCaron does give us the best chance simply due to the fact that he actually came from that division and should have plenty of film under his belt. Thoughts?

I appreciate the input and I won’t debate people’s opinions but this administration so far hasn’t impressed me too much with their WR decisions. I can understand the Watkins trade but Jordan Matthews, Zay Jones and even Kelvin Benjamin has been underwhelming to say the least. So to say that DGB is not a good fit for the “process” only makes me wonder who exactly is a good fit for the process because Streater and Andre Holmes is not going to get it done.

As of now he’s a bust but there is some interesting aspects to him that could be of use to Buffalo. Physical size, speed and a 1 year prove it contract could be an avenue that the Bills might want to consider. With McDermott trying to instill a strong chemistry in the locker room adding someone like DGB could either be a boom or bust experiment. I don’t think that they would have anything to lose and would have everything to gain by at least looking into a prospect like him. If his heart and mind isn’t in it then my be on but if the thing that McDermott is trying to instill this could be a steal of a deal and quite the redemption story.

05-09: Bills DL Trent Murphy on One Bills Live
Tipster19 replied to elroy16's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’d like to see Gronk pull his bs now when Murphy is on the field. I’m pretty sure that the results might be a little different compared to that kitty Preston Brown. -
I don’t know enough about the contracts, salary cap, dead money etc etc about who stays and who goes but more importantly I wonder about what additions that will be made before the start of the season. I would venture to say that the OL (Gs?), possibly a WR and a LB or 2. I’m more interested in who’s coming than who’s going.

I agree. I was thinking along these lines after we drafted Phillips. On paper we have a pretty solid defense, a couple more additions and we should be able to compete against most teams.
-
Ok, I probably should have said that it would be in Cleveland’s interest to see the Giants trade out of their #2 pick instead of saying that they could help. They could make a bs trade with the team that is trading up and over compensate them, they have plenty of picks. Hey, the point is Cleveland could get a QB of choice (best QB overall?) and get the best player in the draft that’s not a QB. That’s like having 2 #1 pick overall.

QB tops Buffalo Bills' priority list entering draft
Tipster19 replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’ve been flopping back and forth in my mind on what is going to happen and I think that I finally decided on what is going to happen. I don’t know how it’s going to unfold, whether the Bills trade up once or maybe even twice, but whatever it takes the Bills are going to go all in and get themselves into that #2 spot and get the QB that they covet. Now what that QB might be I don’t have a clue. -
I can’t remember a draft having such a wide range of speculations and projections. This feels like a draft that is going to be talked about for years to come. Having so many high QB prospects all in one year, and in my opinion, a league that is in dire need of having an infusion of talent at this position. Except for the last couple/few years this was a position that seem to always have several top tier talent but now there are only a couple of aging elite QBs (Brady, Brees and Manning) that are at the end of their careers. No matter what unfolds, I for one, is welcoming a new infusion of talent at this position. I hope that the Bills are one of the teams that benefit from this new crop of players. Go Bills!
-
It wouldn’t shock me. If the first few picks go as expected then Denver would be in a great position. Now if they were to take a QB as well then the longer the draft goes from there the more that it allows some other not so expected team(s) to become a competitor for the last of the 4 touted QBs. Dolphins, Ravens, Cardinals, Chargers, Patriots and possibly the Saints all become more viable to trade up. Now if the Giants and Broncos unexpectingly decide to take QBs themselves then it won’t matter what the Bills want to do simply because the top 4 would be gone. That might actually be a blessing in disguise but really nobody will know that for quite some time. Does anyone think that the above teams named will try and trade up into the top 7 picks other than the Bills?
-
It wouldn’t make sense not to. This in my opinion helps Rudolph, regardless of what team selects him, simply because of the extra year as an option. If there is not a willing and/or reasonable trade partner early in the 1st rd, does this make Rudolph more of an option for the Bills late in the 1st rd? The Eagles are willing to trade out of the #32nd pick and it wouldn’t surprise me if the Bills traded up into the 1st rd so they could exercise that option.

Sadly, I think this mock from CBS is the most accurate...
Tipster19 replied to BigDingus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If this is accurate and Trumaine Edmunds is available then that’s who I hope that’s who the Bills take with the #12 pick. -
I’m sure that the price to move up is going to be costly and with the holes that we currently have I would like to see the Bills be more active in making trades and acquiring better FAs. I really thought and wanted the Bills to get LG Andrew Norwell, especially considering the Carolina connection I thought that we had a good shot of getting him. Now that he’s gone off to Jacksonville I wonder if Beane knew that Incognito was going to pull his antics if this signing would of been of an importance. Someone posted not too long ago about the Bears’ WR Kevin White, I know I did a long time ago, and would like to see a trade of this nature. It’s trades like that I think is important for us to do if the Bills do indeed trades up in the draft. if there are other potential players/trades that you would like to see happen then please post them, I would love to see what other alternatives could be out there for us.

Buffalo should get WR Bryant, Martavis that is.
Tipster19 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
McBeane has already has tried to trade for him last year. They want him but the Steelers weren’t ready to move or at least not for the compensation that they were being offered for him. -
Back in February it was speculated that a 2nd or a early 3rd rd pick would get it done. Bryant is in his final year of his rookie contract and wants to be a #1 WR. This year he is a bargain at $705,000.00. What would be perfect is the cap charge for this year and if he has a good year and is a good fit the Bills could give him a big contract next year due to them having a lot of cap space. Offer the Steelers our 3rd rder (#65 overall pick) that we got from Cleveland for Bryant and possibly get them to throw in their 7th rder (#220th overall pick). Time to accelerate this roster and make some moves!

Trade his screwy ass, put him in as part of the package to move up with the Giants. -
Beane Bad Player Relations ?
Tipster19 replied to Jamie Muellers Ghost's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great point, I was going to post something like this earlier today but I didn’t want to face the potential backlash. I don’t think that he has poor people skills, I believe that he is more hardnose when it comes to negotiating contracts and financial structures. In the long run it might not be a bad thing but in the present fans and players may not like it.
