  1. I like the drinking part...
  2. It’s no secret that McBeane, I say McBeane because I’m not sure who is the one that initiated having some very “seasoned” veterans on the roster aka Lorenzo, formerly Kyle, McCoy, Gore etc etc which raises a question to me that maybe someone here will know. Is there any elder draft prospects in this draft? Guys who might have been redshirted and/or started college at a later age than normal? Going defense maybe there is a prospect that slides a bit due to age. Oops, I forgot to reference guys like QB Brandon Weeden. The guy has been in the league for 7 years and is 35 years old.
  3. I think I get what you’re getting at, tell if I’m accurate. Top picks are used for top talent, no brained, right? Use the mid to later rd picks on players that have dropped for whatever reason but have an extremely high ceiling. No guts, no glory, right? If that’s what you’re saying then I can get on board with that kind of philosophy. Btw, word to the wise, you don’t have to explain or defend yourself for trying to contribute some Bills’ football talk on a Bills’ message board. Too many sarcastic people around here, giving a guy a hard time for posting an idea about his favorite team. Keep on posting pal, I enjoyed your take on the upcoming draft.✌?
  4. It’s getting interesting. I would love to add McCoy, a signing like this would really make the upcoming draft even more fluid for us. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/04/01/gerald-mccoy-not-at-voluntary-bucs-workouts/
  5. No, sorry about that, it was late when I posted and didn’t read it all the way through.
  6. Hills is a good size RB with a good burst and great vision and plays with enthusiasm. He had a huge game against Cal back in October but I didn’t want to just highlight 1 big game but rather try and show a bigger body of work. He’s a bit older, going to be 24 by the beginning of the season but that’s nothing for our backfield.
  7. Great topic, great post. Thanks for sharing some of the information. Btw, I’m a big advocate of the Bills obtaining McCoy, however they go about it.
  8. Great post and great question. You are asking a specific question that should be answered with a specific answer. We have a lot of need still in just about every position group so I don’t want to give my opinion or preference without giving it some great thought. Personally I would love to see the Bills get a blue chip DL at the #9 slot and I’m assuming when you ask what our greatest need is that you are also intending on it being addressed with our 1st pick in the draft wherever that may be. So based on that, and correct me if I’m wrong or interperting your question the wrong way I would have to look at this question or situation from Beane’s point of view. I would have to say based on the limited knowledge I have on our roster’s talents and abilities that we should build the lines until we are confidant that we have a great and superior DL and OL. I don’t think as of right now we do so these 2 areas are where I would concentrate on. Seeing that this is suppose to be a very deep defensive draft I think that with the right evaluation the Bills will be able to find good defensive help in the early rounds (1-3). I would keep in mind that we haven’t had a real QB since Jim Kelly. Seeing that the QB is the most important chess piece on the board and the most elusive to fulfill then that aspect alone would make the decision even more decisive to me. OL, to me, is the biggest need at this time. The Bills need a stud OT and if they can get one, whether it by via draft, trade or FA, then that should be their top priority. None of this works without Josh and the Bills better make sure that he stays upright. Add in the factor that in this draft there might be only a couple of blue chip OL in this draft. I could be wrong about this because I’m not a professional scout so I’m relying on our administration to get this right. If I’m somewhat accurate about our current players abilities and our biggest need is to be filled by drafting then imo I think that Florida’s OT Jawaan Taylor is the pick for us if the Bills deem him a stud at the OT position.
  9. Josh is mostly compared to Carson Wentz but there already seems to be a big difference in an intangible that transcends talent and ability and that is in the leadership department. I forget what game it was last year but remember when Josh was cheering and firing up the defense on the sidelines? Doesn’t seem like Wentz has mastered that part of his game. I guess that either you got it or you don’t and at this point in his young career it looks like Josh gets it. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/03/27/doug-pederson-carson-wentz-has-it-in-him-to-be-a-better-teammate/
  10. One man. One Buffalo. One birthday. Happy Birthday Terry! Hope that you have a great day and many thanks for what you have provided to our community! Go Bills!
  11. A trade down with the Redskins?
  12. I see why! If Oliver and Gary aren’t there at #9 then maybe Hockenson is the pick. I bet Daboll wouldn’t be against it. https://www.buffalobills.com/news/bills-today-espn-s-mel-kiper-predicts-bills-go-defense-with-no-9-pick https://www.buffalobills.com/audio/brian-daboll-he-was-a-privilege-to-coach
  13. There’s currently 66 players signed by Buffalo. If the Bills use all 10 draft picks on players then that leaves 14 more spots on the roster to be filled with players. McCoy isn’t a lock to stay on Tampa’s roster. Here’s a player I would love to have and would help alleviate another position group before the draft. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/03/26/bruce-arians-keeps-using-the-word-if-regarding-gerald-mccoy/
  14. Example: Team A is loaded with salary cap space. Team B is strapped with little to no salary cap space. Team A desires a player(s) and/or draft pick(s) from Team B. Team A trades for player(s) and/or draft pick(s) from Team B and in addition takes on X amount of Team B’s used salary cap dollars. Bottom line Team A gets the desired player(s) and/or draft pick(s) and uses their salary cap dollars to do it. This would keep the player to salary cap ratio in line. Team B benefits to where not only do they lose a contract but reduces their salary cap debt so they can still go out and either trade, draft or sign another player with their new found cap dollars. That should keep parity intact.
  15. The salary cap could be manipulated. It would provide teams with issues an avenue to turn their situation around.
  16. They wanted to create parity so why stop short? The teams (this year’s Colts) that were shrewd enough to conserve their salary cap space while sporting a competitive roster should be allowed to trade off some space to obtain better players whether it be in trade or by draft. For the teams that are in salary cap trouble this would allow them to reset by by trading off either draft position or player(s). If there should be a limit or percentage of what salary cap space is debatable but I think that this would be a brand new twist to the ever changing NFL, it keeps it fresh and it keeps it interesting. It doesn’t hurt that it would also make the predictions and projections even more muddled for the gambling aspect which is widely suspected of making up a large part of the NFL.
  17. Wow, what a great interview! I love the way Brandon Beane handles himself, he ‘s the right fit for the Bills. Gotta love the depth this guy is providing to the roster. Now E.J. Gaines?? Our secondary is gonna be rocking! Too many times Beane has alluded to being open to a trade, the guy is soliciting and I’m fully expecting a big time trade for either a defensive player and/or a WR. Since he’s been here he obtained a star in a few different position groups. Tre’Davious, Edmunds, Josh and looks like Morse, and tried with Zay and Dion. I expect another star taken in the draft with either the DL or with a WR. I suppose you could add a TE in there but I think the other 2 positions hold presidence. I think the LB position might be addressed in the draft as much as 2 times, somewhere in the 3rd rd and later.
  18. Good riddance.
  19. Hahaha, I came up with a novel idea of going to a football message board to post messages about football but I’ve noticed that there are others that come to a message board to piss and moan. Hmm, interesting...
  20. It sure does. One can see that they are going for nasty, mammoth roadgrading pass protectors. This offense is going to be Josh’s and he’s going to be expected to completely take over the team this year for better or worse. Either the OL is going to pass protect for him or roadgrade for Shady & Co. The only time you’ll see RBs catching out of the backfield will be out in the flats. Josh is the wildcard for this team. If he breaks out and utilizes his great talent and attributes this be just as exciting of an offense as last year’s Chiefs but in it’s own way. I don ‘t think so and I hope not but if they did then that wouldn’t shock me either. Beane each year has managed to draft a star player in few different positions now. Josh, Tre’Davious, Tremaine and tried with Dion and Zay. The only OL in this year’s draft that has star power to me is Jawaan Taylor.
  21. I love the mentality! http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/03/21/quinnen-williams-favorite-football-player-is-jason-kelce/
  22. After last year’s run on QBs in last year’s draft and several teams this year with QB needs I would not be the least bit surprised if as many as 4 QBs are taken before the Bills pick at #9. If there’s any truth to the Cardinals taking Murray with the 1st overall pick then I could see the Giants and the Raiders jumping on Haskins. Don’t kid yourself, Gruden has always been QB happy. He likes to collect them like I use to collect match box cars when I was a kid. Here’s a guy that traded us a 5th rder for McCarron. To take it further he still has Peterman on the roster! Denver/Elway has been heavily linked to Lock for quite some time now. Once there’s a couple of QBs taken in the first few picks don’t be surprise to see an avalanche on the last 1 or 2 QBs to be taken earlier then expected. Elway trades up just to insure that he gets his man. The 4th potential QB that could be Duke’s Daniel Jones. The Bengals pick at #11 and it’s no secret that the Dolphins are in the QB market as well and they pick at #13. One of them might want to make sure that the other doesn’t beat them for a QB. Jones has been tutored by David Cutcliffe and Cutcliffe has raved about the 3 year starter. For those who don’t realize who he is he is the guy that mentored both Mannings, Heath Shuler and others. They call him the QB whisperer. I hope that all of this happens, it will create a great player slide and we just might be in position to grab someone that we never thought would be possible.
  23. Thanks for a great response. That is what I was thinking and if this blueprint is somewhat accurate then one might be to expect what Beane may be thinking when it comes to the draft and FA.
  24. Looks like Beane is looking for some quality depth with once again with proven veterans.
