  1. Would anybody be against the Bills if they eventually were to kick Ford inside, change Dawkins from LT to RT and go and get a big time LT?
  2. It kind of puts the OL in perspective, looking at it’s history/current state. Everybody is aware of the RT position and either that’s going to eventually be Cody Ford’s position or the Bills are going to kick him inside and go get a future RT unless Williams turns out to be that guy. Either way I wonder what the future holds Feliciano because as of now it appears that he has been ignored. There’s a lot of moving parts on that right side of the OL. I’m curious as to what other people’s’ take is on Feliciano and the right side of the OL. Thoughts?
  3. Memphis’ Antonio Gibson has been called the biggest sleeper of all RBs. Got to love the versatility of this guy! If not Perine then I would have no problem if the Bills were to take Gibson later in the draft, you can’t teach speed and this guy has got it.
  4. Here’s an interesting prospect, it’s a great read. https://sports.yahoo.com/from-nothing-to-something-robert-hunts-improbable-journey-from-one-stop-sign-town-to-the-nfl-175553709.html
  5. Maybe I should clarify a bit. Beane is building through the draft. Replacing older high priced veterans with young draft picks is how you balance a team in many ways. Between the age, contracts and abilities is what every team strives for, it’s perpetual. As one elevator is going down the other is going up. This reminds me something that I have been wondering about. This administration is changing our culture, inserting a process and all the while professing love and unity. They haven’t been in office long enough to prove that they will take care of their own with future contracts. I believe they will but it hasn’t been significantly proven yet. I’m talking about the Whites, Dawkins, Phillips, Emunds, Milanos, Oliver’s etc etc. players that they drafted. There has been a lot of short term contracts (1-3 yrs) doled out to older veterans but I’m curious to see how some of the future expensive long term contracts are going to turn out.
  6. It does make a lot of sense if the Bills were to take a DL with their first pick in the draft. I’m sure Beane would like to balance the money that is currently tied up with that. https://www.buffalorumblings.com/platform/amp/2020/4/16/21221722/buffalo-bills-investing-heavily-in-defensive-linemen-nfl-free-agency-nfl-draft
  7. At worse Lamical Perine will be a top 3 RB out of this draft class.
  8. Thanks for the link. Wow, he sure breaks things down! I checked out his take on RBs from January and it looks like he likes Perine. I posted about him last week, I put up a 4 minute highlight reel of him. I would love to see the Bills add him anywheres from the 3rd rd and back, I think that him and Singletary would make one heck of a tandem. Thanks for posting.
  9. I agree and it looks like the Jets are pretty interested in him.
  10. I just read a great article that made me realize some of Beane’s pattern. I believe that OL will be our 1st pick in the draft, maybe even move up a bit in the 2nd rd to secure a solid OL and here is the reasoning behind that. We all know that our OL has great depth but some of the OL starters could stand an upgrade, OT in particular. With the new signing of OL Evan Boehm it gives me the impression he’s insurance for Morse. They played at the same college and Morse was the “dad” of the OL, meaning Boehm is cut from the same cloth. As far as our Gs go I believe we are all set there as well. Spain signing a new 3 year deal indicates that we are set at the LG position. Well Feliciano has anchored the RG position I believe that the Bills have Cody Ford being groomed as his potential replacement if the quality of his (Feliciano) play duffers and/of if they can’t come to terms on a new contract. That leaves the OT position as the upgrade. I don’t know if Dawkins gets traded, realigned to RT or if the Bills just go and get a RT right out of the gate but this is where I believe is where the direction Beane is headed. Beane has a propensity of signing and stacking OL and then trading whatever surplus he has at the end of camp. That 5th and 6th rders that he gave up, which came from trading surplus FA OL that he stacked, is going to be recouped some by following the same blueprint. So in hindsight Diggs isn’t going to cost as much as it looked initially. I think that we can all agree that Josh is safe and while we could stand to add another quality RB the only other real positions on offense are the OL, TE and WR positions. Our Starting WRs are in their prime and once again the Bills have good depth there as well. While TE is important it’s not a priority. It’s the OL, they got to do better in protecting their investment with Josh, not just the physical part but also the production part. RB and defense definitely need to be address but it doesn’t have to be with the first pick, it’s time to upgrade the OL with a good young starter for years to come. Here’s the article that I read. 5 thoughts and a grade on Buffalo Bills signing OL Evan Boehm https://www.syracuse.com/buffalo-bills/2020/04/5-thoughts-and-a-grade-on-buffalo-bills-signing-ol-evan-boehm.html?outputType=amp
  11. I would think C. Beane probably wants insurance with Morse’s concussion history.
  12. I beg to differ. They are both strong armed QBs that can throw the ball a country mile. Furthermore they both are mobile, only 1 rushes for yardage. Don’t tell me that Winston is a pocket passer, the guy can more than move, he just chooses to stay behind the LOS.
  13. If Belichick gets either QB then I would suspect him to go after a TE or 2. If it were Winston I wonder if ole Billy Boy would go after OJ Howard. 2 other names that wouldn’t surprise me would be David Njoku and Evan Engram. This Covid 19 is slowing everything down but as soon as there is a let up just watch Belichick make some moves.
  14. Brady goes to Tampa and Belichick let’s him. Egos couldn’t be involved here, right?? I would think so. Belichick is going to reinvent that team, that’s what he does! The carries a 3/4 and a 4/3 hybrid defense. He went from a high octane passing attack when they had Moss and then he pulls out of his ass a multi TE offense with Gronk and Hernandez. Like any good info commercial like me que in “but wait, there’s more!”. When that offense ran it’s course he then goes to a platoon of RBs that catch out of the backfield and also incorporated the short to intermediate passing game and sprinkles in a couple of long balls just to keep you off balance. Anyone who thinks this guy is gonna stand pat just hasn’t watch him enough throughout the years.
  15. Don’t get comfortable, here comes Belichick! Nothing is worse than false confidence/security. If anyone thinks that Belichick is just gonna roll over than they got another thing coming. Newton and Winston, similar abilities and both available. I’m not buying the Stidham talk, expect Belichick to reinvent that offense. Nobody loves veterans that want to prove something more than Belichick.
  16. When it actually costs you then demands your undivided attention. I admittedly don’t watch college and I haven’t even seen the vast majority of RBs in this draft but with that being said what I do have, and I say this modestly, I have a pretty keen eye for football players, RBs in particular. It’s not hard to see that even without all the measurable and offensive strategies that this kid has got that thang. It can’t be taught and it can’t be learnt, it’s a natural instinct and this kid has got it. When it gets to be crunch time I have a feeling that He is one of those players that you would want the ball in his hands. Don’t get me wrong, the Bills have several play makers but to add this kid would be one heck of a way to add another piece to their offensive arsenal.
  17. This makes a lot of sense. I know if Barkley starts I expect us to lose but if Bortles were to start then I dunno, it would have to come down to who we were playing. So if you look at it that way and feel the same way then yes the Bills would be better served having Bortles vs Barkley. Thanks for your input, excellent insight.
  18. Anyone who thought Cam was ever going to come to Buffalo is sadly misguided. Beane is right, Newton is a starter and rightfully so. Furthermore they are not going to get somebody, if anybody, to compete with Josh to be the starter. The job is firmly Josh’s until proven different.
  19. There’s several aspects that I want to mention but I want it to be coherent though. Since this post I have been doing more reading on Smith’s situation, his rehabilitation and his contract. While I can’t say that he’ll be back and ready to play I also can’t find anyone saying that he can’t come back and play, there’s a difference of opinion on this based on who you are listening to. I did find where Alex Smith is trying his hardest to come back and play this year and can’t be counted out, he’s be the first professional athlete to ever come back from an injury like this so there can’t be a percentage put on it. Furthermore Ron Rivera is totally in charge over there and we all know how deep the Carolina connection is with our administration so if a deal could be worked out I would say that Buffalo has the inside track on it. I also fully expect Cam Newton to be a Redskin. What I think what is holding this up is 2 issues. The first being a clean bill of health, the 2nd being a reasonable contract. As far as undermining goes I don’t know where the idea of Smith beingthe undermining type comes from. It’s quite the contrary, he’s a great mentor for the young QB (see Patrick Mahomes). As far as the contract goes my understanding is that he’s guaranteed 16M for the 2020 season. Admittedly I see where cutting him is not a possibility but I also can’t confirm what a trade would do, if it’s possible or not so maybe somebody can give a better clarity on that aspect. I do believe that things can be incentivize in a trade. Things like where the Redskins could either pay some of that contract and/or offer some draft compensation for taking Smith off of their hands. There is a lot of potential moving parts here and other than saying that he is not physically able to play I don’t believe all the other aspects are definitive either way. So for anybody to dismiss this trade as a possibility then they better bring better facts than what has been discussed so far because opinions are not enough at this time.
  20. What a tandem these 2 would make. To me they have similar qualities. Some are predicting that Perine could go as late as the 4th or 5th rd. I don’t know where he is going to be drafted at but I wouldn’t be against using our 3rd rder on him.
  21. Working out a trade is over my head but we have seen some fantastic transactions worked out throughout the years so to me anything is possible. In this particular scenario there are 3 parties that have to come to an agreement and that is the Bills, Redskins and Smith. I can’t speak on or for any one of them but if there is a will then to me there is a way.
  22. I said in somebody’s post that there is somebody out there that nobody is talking about and then it just hit me about Alex Smith. It’s a perfect scenario for both parties, Buffalo and Smith. Don’t forget about the Andy Reid connection. McDermott likes to move in the same mode as old Andy. There’s only 2 things to know more about with Smith. a.) Where is Smith at in his rehabilitation. b.) Does Smith still want to play. If memory serves me correctly both counts are moving in a positive way, he’s doing good in his rehabilitation and that he still wants to play.
  23. Great point! It seems to me that there is someone out there that everyone is overlooking, including myself. I like everything Beane has done so far, I feel that we are solid from top to bottom EXCEPT possibly another pass rusher, a compliment RB, which I’m sure will be addressed adequately and last but not least the reinforcement of the QB position. I’m sure that everybody else feels the same way. I do not, I repeat, I do not feel comfortable going into the season with just Matt Barkley being the only viable QB other than a Josh on the roster. If Josh doesn’t progress or even worse, gets injured then we’re screwed because Barkley isn’t going to be the solution imo. There is another avenue as a resource for a QB and that is the CFL. I admittedly know nothing about that league or it’s players but maybe somebody else here could shed some light on some potential possibilities.
  24. Thoughts and condolences to you and your family.
