Forget the hard time beating elite QBs argument: our games vs KC and Miami make me worry we can't beat a decent team who can put up more than 17 points on us. Seriously, a TD in each half and a random FG shouldn't be asking a lot of an offense and we haven't even been able to put these numbers up in several very winnable games. Those two losses likely keep us out of the playoffs.

Don't confuse pride with an unrealistic assessment of our chances. Can we make it? Yes, possibly. Is it likely? No, not with this OC. I watch the team because I have some pride and I'm a fan, but Hackett is killing this team.

Coming into the game Grey had 3 catches in his whole NFL career and played QB most of his life. The kid hasn't overwritten his QB instincts yet. But yes, he should have trucked some DBs.

Things like this thread make sites like twobillsdrive worth spending time on. It's pretty heartening to see a community show support for one it its own. Seriously, I bet if I went to the Off Topic board and posted a negative comment about Nate in the midst of a thread about cookie recipes you'd pop in to defend him. The Broncos turned out 1k runners season after season with nobodies for so long after TD left because they ran an effective run blocking scheme, not because their lineman were all all-pros or they had top flight rushers.The threat of the pass and an effective scheme can CREATE opportunities for running. When a line is stifled, you can create de facto rushes by running screens and bubble screens. Hackett does NONE of this. He calls an interior run and the RB moves forward for a yard or two before running into the arms of a wave of defenders who know what our 2 super secret 1st and 2nd down plays are: run inside off the RG or LG.
