I formed that opinion from several interviews. The interview that comes to mind presently would be his analysis on the Chris Williams signing. I thought he did a good job of explaining his opinions. He also seems to be one of the only guys around who comes off as engaged and putting forth an effort to be something other than self-serving or aggressively cynical.

That Benigni guy knows zilch. He placed sources on both sides of Golisano's bid and then just said "conflicting reports." Awful journalist.

What in your eyes would constitute a professional? Do you think the rest of the guys covering the sport have gone to some special "professional" school that entitles them to an opinion? I like Joe B. He backs up his analysis with reasoning (right or wrong) and that's really all you can ask of someone. If you want to see a realm in which there are very few "professionals" actually doing the reporting on the sport, look at people covering MMA. That sport has so many unqualified people writing about it that it's maddening.

I say EJ gets the first half of the season before the panic sets in that things could be slipping away from us. If we're 4-4 or better Orton stays on the bench. Still, I'm going with over; I don't see us better than 4-6 at the 10 game mark.

It should be the full season, but I could see the FO and coaches panic and stick Orton in there midway through the season if we're 3-5 or worse.

Nix stayed through that draft, precisely so they COULD blame it all on Nix if the pick failed. The dumb move on their part was doubling down on him by trading next year's 1 to get Watkins. That effectively nullified all the rudimentary smoke and mirrors they tried using last year by showing Whaley thinks we can win with EJ.

I fail to see how being a fan means you need to forgive him at all. Completely false logic. I can be a Bills fan and dislike the kid. I don't particularly dislike him, but don't qualify other people's fandom for them.

I understand your point a bit better now. To me that's not a sense of entitled ownership, it just boils down to people being keyboard gladiators and wanting to act cool. Most of those people probably rip on people singing in youtube videos. Some people are more hyperbolic than most. At least we can agree that whatever his intent was when posting that tweet, it wasn't well thought out. To think he was going to get anything back from the internet ether other than insults is foolhardy at best.

This statement is completely incorrect in multiple parts. Part I- Goodwin was booed for his part in a horrible half of football. There is no form of "ownership" exercised in booing here. People pay money to be entertained and they were not entertained, they were frustrated at seeing a team play with no skill, pride or passion. Part II- Professional athletes are people in their free time and individual corporations when working. An athlete's twitter is part of their "brand" regardless of what you believe. Does Goodwin have 39k followers because he's a nice guy? No, he has them because he is a football player. Want proof, look at his banner image and his bio info. To say an athlete has a right to say whatever they want on twitter without a backlash is an outmoded way of thinking. If he wanted his comments to be private, he could have used a private twitter account. No, he said what he said because he wanted to hear people suck up and say they never booed and they support him. In short, he had his feelings hurt and he turned to one of the places in the planet that will absolutely tear you apart and mock you when you ask for sympathy. How do the people who booed assume "ownership" over players for dumping on a player who dumped on them?

Dixon comes off as a whiner who likes to shift blame to other people for his failures "you guys should have been louder." Goodwin comes off as a whiny bum. Why should anyone cheer for losers? This isn't pop warner where you get cheers for effort. Fans are plunking down grownup ticket prices for parking and seats, they are not required to make losers feel like winners. If you play like garbage, you should feel like garbage.
