  1. Here's the problem with that: there's no reason for a player coveted by any other team to sign with us absent overspending. They're not going to line up at the door to catch passes from unnamed rookie or Tavaris Jackson and we're not attracting anyone who is looking to come play for a winner. So while I understand the notion that the "disciplined spending" route is better in the long run, it is frustrating to sit here knowing we're restarting the rebuilding process yet again and we won't be competitive for at least 3 years. Oh and we have no idea whether Marrone will be even a halfway decent coach, but we know it will take at least 2 years to determine that, so come 2015 we could be doing this all over again.
  2. I'm in. It's clear we're employing "suck for Luck" a couple years too late.
  3. From the way we simply announced a press conference to sign Lawson I think it's clear they have been trying to land free agents since free agency started, just quite unsuccessfully. Players on offense won't sign until we have a QB unless we overpay and it looks like we're not going to. I dunno why D players aren't signing, other than the obvious small town, cold climate, terrible team argument. The Davis negotiations became public most likely because he was using us and hoping to get a higher offer from the redskins before re-signing. In this case silence isn't golden, I think its a clear indication we are failing at attracting anyone.
  4. I agree wholeheartedly. Making a statement like that carries the stench of fan appeasement and trying to keep his job. What it does NOT do is further the mission of this team, which is to win.
  5. That article is interesting, but terribly written. I mean it's really bad.
  6. I was hoping this is a joke, then I saw you defend your "point." Biddy already said some of the people we want have scheduled visits elsewhere and several of them signed during those visits. It is clear that yes, we are approaching FAs and that we have not been able to sign any of them, so we don't publicize to avoid the embarassment.
  7. http://www.buffalobills.com/media-center/videos/Lets-do-lunch-Stevie-Johnson/c183e261-542b-49a6-b182-7d0326489380 Hadn't seen it posted. Just fun nonsense.
  8. Walker is terrible. I feel cheated after reading that article. The AFC East blog reads like a 13 year old girl's diary "Blame game is pointless... ." Oh and did anyone notice how he did a "stock watch" and only listed the jets, pats and dolphins?
  9. Negotiating with the lollipop guild is just not worth it.
  10. It absolutely depends on my age. If I were in my 20s, it's a no-brainer you start and then say thank you very much and sign as a FA with a better team. 30+ look for a ring as a backup.
  11. So, we can confirm you in fact know nothing about statistics or analogies. At this point I am shocked you spelled statistics right in the title, as you seem to be regressing with every post. It's like you're the Benjamin Button of logic.
  12. So... there are NO stats? Does that mean you ARE a scout?
  13. You know I'm sick to death of all you sanctimonious old guys who walk around like you define class and what it means to be whatever. The "younger" crowd still sticks with the team as much as you old guys. Stop acting like you have the monopoly on fandom. Some people complain, some people drink koolaid, others lurk and some post platitudes, they're all just as valid a group as any other. So quit acting like you're better than anyone else just cause you're going to kick the bucket sooner.
  14. The answer is Gibran Hamdan- The Chroisen One
  15. Sorry buddy. I tried reading, but it's hard to take your post about QBs seriously when you think Thigpen is still on the team.
  16. I agree it's next to impossible to sell to a wr or te with no qb in place, but the lack of news from the FO is maddening, that's why everyone is pulling their hair. No announced visits, no leaks to say we tried to get so and so, its uncharacteristic.
  17. I'm tired of hearing Glen isn't an OT. Its misinformed and obviously just a bandwagon thought read here on the board. We ARE fine at tackle. Everything else, I'm fine with. The team is doing a terrible job convincing people to care about it at all. Guess the new position has marketing guru Russ Brandon thinking about other things.
  18. +1. The problem between fans and the organization is that trust is earned. The owner and string of GMs haven't done anything in the past 13 years to show they deserve our trust. So, rather than trust that "they have a plan" as many of you suggest, we just assume they're screwing the pooch again. It's difficult at this point to believe there is a plan, especially when Gibson fits the bill for an up and coming WR and we have almost no legit WRs on the roster and we don't even kick his tires.
  19. That would get me as about as excited as signing Manny Lawson did. Next idea? I can't even imagine what the board will do when we draft Warmack in rd 1 and a lb rd 2. 2013 has "first year of a three year plan" written all over it.
  20. Kelly, I generally agree with your posts. You're better than this one. The "only" reasons not to come here are to play for a contender or to go to a big city? I love Buffalo, but there are literally dozens of more convincing reasons not to go there: lack of commercial viability, no time in the media spotlight, weather, unproven head coach, weird owner/CEO combo, longest active playoff drought, facilities and stadium that rank in the lower 20% of the league; on defense- no lb corps, on offense- no qb. My point is, there are PLENTY of reasons NOT to come to Buffalo. I'm struggling to find many reasons FOR coming here at this point.
  21. It's funny, cause he's making fun of the other thread
