  1. This. If Edwards is too conservative to throw the medium-range routes, then an underneath crossing route is an ideal remedy. At least he wouldn't be checking down to Spiller/Jackson/Lynch behind the line of scrimmage and forcing them to make a play just to gain 3 yards. He might as well start with a 5-yard gain and let the receiver get a few more. Plus what Dr K said - Wes Welker has turned into a fantasy star because he's open 7 yards down field and makes a move to gain an extra 10.
  2. I'd like to know what Obama doesn't get blamed for. I think a lot of this is moot because he'll be ready for the season - he's only supposed to miss the first few days (week?) of training camp, but as long as he's there with his teammates, it wouldn't bother me at all.
  3. I didn't know anything about this until now, so bear with me if some of my comments are a bit naive... First, saying $3 million spent to keep the Buffalo Bills in Buffalo is a pretty broad statement. What does that really mean? Did Ralph tell Pataki that he won't move the team as long as NYS gives him $3M per year? billsfan might be on to something about the county/state payments for maintenance, but that doesn't tell me that it's just for keeping the Bills in Buffalo. Second, as much as I want the Bills to stick around, that's a lot of money to be throwing at them. Given this major fiscal crisis, this all sounds fishy to me. It's as if this is some special interest money that the state should be spending on health care costs, welfare, unemployment, or education...not a sports team. Yes, I know it would significantly help the economy of Western NY, but to me it depends on what the $3 million is for.
  4. I was glued to the TV. I think that was the same day as Game 7 of the Knicks-Rockets NBA Finals. It was as surreal as surreal could get.
  5. I wouldn't call bull just yet. It's not really saying that Brohm will *definitely* be the starter...just that he might. Solid reporting, I know. It's more like "slow summer reporting", as others have said. Your best bet is to ignore these accounts and wait until the first pre-season game to see what the story really is.
  6. Agreed...it's time to cut their losses and get what they can for Lynch. I just hope Buddy doesn't hold out too long or else he loses leverage.
  7. It's just stupid. The only time this is supposed to happen is Halloween. Quenneville just won your team a championship and you treat his property like that? Sure, it could have been a disgruntled Phlyer fan living in Chicago, but I won't bet on that.
  8. This is a prime example of how coaches should run their team - develop a system based on the personnel you have, not jam a system down the players' throats and force them to learn it. We may not see The Pistol, the WCO, or any other already-beaten-to-death offense that other teams know how to defend. I'd hope that we're more likely to see something that Gailey thinks will work based on the strengths of the skill positions.
  9. This is partly why there shouldn't be any voluntary OTA/minicamps. They should all be mandatory. I know what the players union would say to that, but especially when you have a new GM and a new coach, everyone needs to get on the same page. I don't understand the point of half the team showing up for a minicamp.
  10. Funny...I don't think anyone else has seen enough of him. Seriously, he's been injured and in & out of the lineup so much that we can't possibly have a book on him yet. I hate when people write off someone before they've even had a chance to show us something. Yes, it's disappointing that Hardy hasn't been on the field enough, but it doesn't mean we should get rid of him or even say that he sucks. Give him a chance (like almost everything else) with this regime and see what happens. If he bombs this year, then we can say we're done with him.
  11. Everyone was saying this, but I'm still not sold on Bradford. I admit I didn't see much of him in 2008, but the long time off last year can't help him. I still get the feeling he's too green for the NFL right now. That said, I don't think the QB class this year was stellar enough despite the hype. I wasn't terribly sold on Clausen or McCoy, either.
  12. I think if we get to Round 4 and there's a LeFevour or Pike still out there, I'd be willing to grab one of them. Otherwise, address the lines.
  13. Bingo. I still want an OT - if Saffold is available, he'd be a no-brainer for me.
  14. Bingo. Until now (Packers on the clock at #23), NEITHER Clausen or Bulaga have been picked. Edit: Packers just grabbed Bulaga.
  15. I'll call his bluff. He knows someone will take Tebow either late first or second round, so he's got to find some team whose need of a QB isn't as much as something else (i.e., OT, DT). I really doubt the Bills will trade back into the first just to get Tebow. I know they'll be looking for a QB, but I get the feeling they'll wait until rounds 2-4.
  16. Again, we see the problem with the internet and everyone's fascination with instant gratification (or the need to be the first to break a story).
  17. This is starting to be like Tiger Woods. Everyone's coming out of the woodwork now to accuse him. I can't say it's terribly surprising, though. Where there's smoke...
  18. That's all well & good, but this team's glaring need is the OL. I just can't see why they wouldn't want to take a tackle in round 1.
  19. And the Bills MAY want to draft Tebow, too. I could have said that. (not a shot at you, Union...just at the quality reporting done by SI) With that said, I'm all for a 4th QB to come in and compete for the job. I just wish the pundits would stop thinking it'll be a first-round QB.
  20. Let's just see what he's got. We have a new HC with an offensive background. Maybe even Edwards could succeed, but I'm looking forward to the open competition in camp. I also wouldn't mind someone like Lefevour to come in and challenge the existing QBs. The more competition there is, the better.
  21. I'm starting to think a lot of the teams are picking players just to go against what Kiper, McShay, et al are predicting. Seriously, I rarely read mock drafts anymore. It's like watching a trailer for a porn movie that doesn't show anything - a big tease and you'd rather wait for the real thing.
  22. Seriously bad. I'm at work and don't want to watch the video. I can only assume that the pick is Bulaga based on the other posts here. His name in the thread title would have been nice, btw.
