How are we 5 pages deep into an Edmunds thread and yet his biggest supporter has yet to show his/her face to tell you all how wrong you are? I’m expecting more Deion Sanders comparisons and disappointed I haven’t seen any. Maybe I’ll put out the “‘Maine Signal” so that poster can crawl out of his cave…

I’ve seen too many.

I suspect since the rest of his teammates around him have been upgraded, his mistakes will be less apparent, thereby making him appear to be a better LB than what he probably is. To earn anything north of $10M/yr I think he needs to be become a playmaker and actually make those game changing plays that are available to him. Always seems like he’s a step slow.

Thats one contract the Bills wish they could do over.

We didn’t just give Von that contract for him to play LB. Whatever designated position he’s be given, DE or LB, he’ll be rushing the passer the vast majority of the time.

I heard it was the lowest tender, not the one that provided 2nd round compensation if he left. A difference of $1.5M.

As good as Diggs is, there’s no way I’m paying him or any other receiver Davante Adams money. It’s not a premium position, you can split that money into two very good receivers and get more bang for your buck.

Those numbers are absolutely criminal. Easily Beane’s worst signing, but he just landed us Von B'Vsean Miller Jr. so I’ll forgive this one. Hopefully the contract taught him something.

We seem to have our eye on that Penn St LB Brandon Smith.

1) He may not want to retire and 2) even if he does, money will still count against the Bills. They don’t get out scott-free, I know that. Oh and 3) I don’t think he’s a guy interested in cutting Beane any favors.

Hughes still has fast wheels, but he doesn’t bend around the edge as easily as he used to.

The Flop and the River

By far Beane’s biggest signing in his tenure. Miller relies on speed and even at age 32, soon to be 33 in 10 days, he’s still plenty fast coming off the edge. We needed a threat badly and we got it. Can’t really complain.

That’s the sort of contract that I feel Edmunds is worth. I saw PFF had Jack above a 60 grade in 3 of his 5 years with a high of 74 while Edmunds has only been at 60 once, which is also the highest he’s ever been graded.

We have and still continue to overpay for “good.”

If you told me the next 10 years would be predetermined in one of two ways and there was nothing the organization could do to change it, I would choose to win a championship followed by another 9 years in the basement. They could never take that excitement and joy away for finally getting over that hill. If the alternative was 10 winning seasons, each year in the playoffs but never a Super Bowl win, the team would be much more fun to watch, but probably even more frustrating. Give me the championship. We went 17 years without the playoffs with nothing to show for it.
