  1. I feel more confident in Ryan Bates and his limited sample size than I do in Dane Jackson.
  2. Speak your mind, my friend! This is a message board, 75% of the content is opinion.
  3. Those numbers are absolutely criminal. Easily Beane’s worst signing, but he just landed us Von B'Vsean Miller Jr. so I’ll forgive this one. Hopefully the contract taught him something.
  4. We seem to have our eye on that Penn St LB Brandon Smith.
  5. 1) He may not want to retire and 2) even if he does, money will still count against the Bills. They don’t get out scott-free, I know that. Oh and 3) I don’t think he’s a guy interested in cutting Beane any favors.
  6. That may be part of the reason. I got the full answer from his wiki page:
  7. I wonder if there’s any significance to the number 40. He wore 58 all those years in Denver, 40 with the Rams, and is now asking for 40 again in Buffalo. Where are my sleuths?
  8. Neither this nor the Settle deal have been made official. I wonder if one has to do with the other…?
  9. Hughes still has fast wheels, but he doesn’t bend around the edge as easily as he used to.
  10. It was the same here as well 😂 As always, the devil is in the details.

  12. By far Beane’s biggest signing in his tenure. Miller relies on speed and even at age 32, soon to be 33 in 10 days, he’s still plenty fast coming off the edge. We needed a threat badly and we got it. Can’t really complain.
  13. That’s the sort of contract that I feel Edmunds is worth. I saw PFF had Jack above a 60 grade in 3 of his 5 years with a high of 74 while Edmunds has only been at 60 once, which is also the highest he’s ever been graded.
  14. We have and still continue to overpay for “good.”
  15. If you told me the next 10 years would be predetermined in one of two ways and there was nothing the organization could do to change it, I would choose to win a championship followed by another 9 years in the basement. They could never take that excitement and joy away for finally getting over that hill. If the alternative was 10 winning seasons, each year in the playoffs but never a Super Bowl win, the team would be much more fun to watch, but probably even more frustrating. Give me the championship. We went 17 years without the playoffs with nothing to show for it.
  16. To be honest I haven’t assessed his play so I couldn’t tell you if he’s worth that much. Projections had him at about $15M/yr, but he is an older player. If he’s still a force off the edge then age doesn’t matter so much.
  17. All those who keep referencing the 5 sacks Jones had the majority of the season, was it due to ineffectiveness? Was he getting double teamed after that 5 sack output? Was he getting close but not finishing the job? There’s always context for the 5 sacks. I think Hughes had like 2 all year despite being tabbed our best pass rushing DE.
  18. Jets, Colts, and 49ers were in contention? Three teams without a solid starting QB? It was absolutely about the money. Now go and get Akiem Hicks and make this team impossible to run on. We may not get pressure with the front 4, but at least Milano, Taron, and Poyer are decent blitzers.
  19. I knew with certain albatross contracts on the payroll they’d have a difficult time landing Jones. Disappointing but not unexpected.
  20. Im not going to call him “dumb” for changing his mind like some others here, but it’s clear he doesn’t prioritize winning over all else. And that’s his decision. Some guys are content with cashing a million dollar paycheck, going to work, then calling it a day.
  21. This used to be the case but the rule was changed quite some time ago. Linky I don’t think this is true. There are gems in every round, I made an “all hindsight draft” earlier to show a draft where all 7 picks would’ve been big time contributors (given how they played with the team that drafted them). It’s always more important who is selected rather than where. Of course it becomes increasingly more difficult with each passing round to find that gem.
  22. That’s why I’d like the Bills to pursue a trade rather than an extension. Something tells me the Edmunds camp has a dollar amount much higher than what the Bills value him and that’s why we haven’t seen an extension yet.
  23. The E-P-S-N gives it away as a fake, as does the 50 followers the account has.
