  1. Both are listed at 6’5”, but Edmunds is clearly taller than Josh in both pics.
  2. Also scary the Bills wanted a DT that badly that they’d give up so much in a trade up when board/fan favorite Haloti Ngata was available earlier in the round. They inexplicably chose Donte Whitner at 8th overall I believe, talk about a comedy of errors. Ngata said years later he was sure he’d be a Buffalo Bill.
  3. I’ve long advocated moving on from Edmunds, but trading him, our first round pick (presumably) and more, just to take another off the ball LB would be foolish. There’s no Micah Parsons in this draft. Giants are up against the cap anyway, so I question how much interest they truly have.
  4. If Beane has proven one thing, it’s that if he truly values the player he’ll find a way to get a contract done.
  5. And not coincidentally, so do the contracts. Not so sure about this point. I remember Oliver single-handedly destroying drives last year. When have we ever said that about Edmunds? Oliver is better at 3DT than Edmunds is at MLB.
  6. Was I the only one concerned he’d step on Ghost in the first video?
  7. We already have two backs on the roster, 3 including Duke Johnson, who lack explosion or explosive speed. Get me someone like Hall or Walker who can take a 5 yard pass and go the distance.
  8. I had the orangutan for the win!
  9. The average, full grown silverback gorilla stands about 5’5”, but weighs between 300-485 pounds, has an 8 foot reach, and is 4-9x stronger than the average human. How do you think something so small, yet so powerful, would fare at offensive guard or defensive tackle in the NFL? 🦍
  10. 10.25” hands at 5’10”. A genetic blessing.
  11. CB - Trent McDuffie LB - Brandon Smith
  12. He was on the left side of the defensive formation that play IIRC, going against the RT.
  13. I definitely didn’t think Justin Jefferson would become what he is today and I’m sure Beane didn’t think so either. He wasn’t among their “top 3 targets” they’d have to move up to get. If the Bills had stayed at 22 and selected JJ, I wonder if he would’ve been just as successful as Diggs in Buffalo.
  14. If Edmunds isn’t going to be extended this off-season, or the first few weeks of the regular season, then he needs to be traded before, during, or after the draft to a team that values him highly.
  15. No thanks, there are usually more misses than hits in the first round anyway. If someone can guarantee Sauce will be a more athletic Richard Sherman, then sign me up, otherwise just stay pat and pick the player you most believe in; no one has that crystal ball.
  16. From the article it sounds like Miller needs to play on the left side of the formation, going against the RT. Sounds like where he’s most comfortable. Bills need a RDE to step up, I’m not sure if Groot has the skill set to consistently win against LTs.
  17. At least we finally have a guy on that side of the ball that the offense has to account for every snap.
  18. Stevie was good, but I don’t think he was ever considered one of the top 5 or 10 WRs in the NFL. And the Bills traded up for Watkins when Stevie was still on the squad. Mike Williams? Don’t even remember him taking a snap for the Bills. Point is, Whaley never traded a WR the caliber of Diggs, only to use those picks to select another WR at the top of the draft. Don’t think he did this with any position actually, but someone correct me if I’m wrong…
  19. Keep your eyes on Brandon Smith, the LB from Penn State. He scored a 9.9 RAS and is a little more athletic than Edmunds, but not as long. Problem is, he also shares the same pre draft questions about his instincts, processing time, and ability to shed blocks. He also misses more tackles than Edmunds, but plays a more physical brand of football. He’s one of the few LBers the Bills met with and is projected to go in the 2nd round.
  20. I’m going to assume this is in reference to Sammy. I don’t remember Whaley creating a hole by trading a high profile WR only to draft another. He was doubling down on the EJ Manuel pick to get him weapons. It was a stupid trade, no doubt, you don’t give up that many assets to move up for a WR. Word at the time was that he also liked Odell Beckham, but if they had stayed put likely would’ve drafted TE Eric Ebron.
  21. If a WR is drafted within the first two rounds this year and proves he can play, next offseason may be very interesting! Diggs no doubt probably wants in the neighborhood of what Adams and Hill got and that’s not possible. An $8M bump to “only” $25M/yr may not be possible. Too many contracts are coming due in the next couple years.
  22. I’ve had this discussion with others: even though the cap raises every year, the percentage of the cap the QB occupies has increased significantly in the last decade. The wealthiest QBs used to pull in about 10-12% of the cap, now they’re over 20%. There was an article in The Athletic talking about how owners may go the way of the “max contract” like the NBA has. I believe @GunnerBillwas saying there’s a real problem with recognizing how lesser talents should be slotted because GMs HAVE TO HAVE a guy. Lamar is lesser than Mahomes and Allen, but if he had an agent would probably bring in more than the two if the contract was done right now.
  23. Ironically, two players that we know Beane stressed about and had graded much higher - Cody Ford and Zack Moss - appear to be duds.
  24. Maybe not until the 2023 season, given how athletes initially return from those major surgeries.
