We'll Be Drafting Our Franchise QB This Year
Ramius replied to Bangarang's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thank you for demonstrating your complete ignorance about Ponder. He's nothing like Losman. He was far from "lost" this season, and this season, his physical strengths were limited due to his arm injuries. His ijnuries had nothing to do with him taking sacks. He got banged up during fall practice and was never the same all season. Notice: None of his injuries came after he got hit. They were non-throwing injuries, which shows that you don't have a clue about what the hell you are talking about. No. the only time Ponder didn't play was when he was hurt. For someone who supposedly watches FSU enough to know about ponder, funny how you don't know our backups name. -
We'll Be Drafting Our Franchise QB This Year

If anyone wants detailed info on Ponder, i'll gladly share it. Feel free to PM me. I've been watching him his entire career down here. His arm troubles palgued him this entire season, from a bruised tricep, to a ruptured bursa sac, to having fluid and blood drained from the elbow. Everyone down here seems to feel that his arm troubles are isolated and will fully heal with an entire offseason to get better. As of now, i don't think the concussion is a concern, because he doesnt have a history of them. Aside from the physical abilities, he's smart as hell with an amazing work ethic. He's actually working on a second graduate degree down here, as he finished his first masters' a year ago. -
Welcome! Good post. Just a warning tho, you've used more logic in your first post than most others have ever used in their thousands. That doesn't fly well around here.

Check out the CJ Spiller thread.

Since Merriman thinks we're going to be good next season, does he need to "just STFU and concentrate on his job"?
-
Rex Ryan was in SI and stated that his defense needs to have a shutdown CB, because then it allows him so much more flexibility with the front 7. Hence the reason why they have Revis (1st rounder in 2007), Cromartie, and drafted Kyle Wilson (1st rounder in 2010). I'm not advocating the Bills select a CB at #3, but stating that the NFL is changing, and its no longer 3 yards and a cloud of dust and we need lots of fat guys to be good type of league. Its quickly becoming a wide-open, passing, shotgun in over half your snaps, 3 or more WRs on a majority of plays so you need to cover them type of league.
-
Blackmon benefits us in that there appears to be a steep dropoff at WR after AJ Green. If he falls to us at 3, perhaps we could be looking at a trade down.
-
CJ Spiller thinks that instead of posting all of your thoughts on a message board, you should just STFU and do your job.
-
If you don't care what Spiller or anyone else has to say, don't read his twitter. The most pathetic part is how you guys moan and B word that these guys shouldn't twitter and such, but then hang on every single word that they tweet. And the Wood comment had nothing to do with racism. Replace Wood with Fred Jackson, Brian Moorman, David Nelson, and everyone is creaming themselves as well. People are using this as a vehicle to hate on specific players they don't like.
-
I've never understood why someone who thinks that the team is going to be good next season gets villified around here. Oh wait, i do know why. If Eric Wood had twittered the same message, people here would be creaming themselves over it. People will use anything at their disposal to attack players they don't like.

Dave Wannstedt expected to talk to Bills
Ramius replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bowers goes 6'4" and 275. Thats big enough to play 3-4 end, but also flexible enough to play 4-3 end, and potentially 3-4 rush LB. You're never going to ask the guy to cover a TE or RB, but there's no reaosn why he couldn't rush the passer from an upright stance. -

Ramius replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, its important to find a player that can play great football period. If we draft Bowers and he's a superstar, it will improve the defense no matter what "scheme" we run. Not to mention that with all of the passing that goes on in the NFL today, you're playing a ton of different defensive looks regardless of whatever your base defense is. -
Character: Something this team is in desperate need of

Ron Rivera new HC of the Panthers
Ramius replied to CosmicBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This year could be different due mainly to the lack of QB and OT talent at the very top of the draft. I certainly would not be shocked to see Green/Peterson go 1/2, given the needs of Carolina and Denver. -

Revis or Asomugha would be well worth the #1 overall pick. -
The jerseys were pretty sweet. I love the fact that they have limitless combinations, and wear slightly different unis each time.

Good post. As an aside, pick(s) for pick(s) trading for the draft is still ok.

Saints would have offered a 3rd round pick
Ramius replied to zevo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah i'm a science guy, so the simplest explanation to me is to wonder why, if the saints felt so spurned, did they wait until now to leak the story? Their timing is extremely fishy seeing how the guy they supposedly would have given anything for (yet never actually made a real offer) just steamrolled their asses out of the playoffs. Seems like sour grapes by everyone involved. -
You do realize that Newton has already won @ 'bama, then the SEC title game, don't you? Or do those not qualify as big games? He also had i believe 3 wins this season where Auburn was down by 14+ points. I'm not saying to draft the guy, but Christ, learn about a player before you spout off. He's already shown he can do everything you asked of him at the collegiate level.

"Saints blame 4-12 team for playoff loss" It's even funnier how the usual naysayers are gobbling this entire story hook, line, and sinker in their never-ending desperate attempts to be "right". -
Now its being reported that Miles will in fact meet with michigan. Of course, this was expected the moment Miles said he's staying at LSU. http://www.detnews.com/article/20110110/SPORTS0201/101100404/1361/LSU%E2%80%99s-Les-Miles-confirms-plans-to-meet-with-Michigan This has a lot of people here at FSU unnerved, because they're afraid that Jimbo Fisher would jump ship back to LSU if Miles left for Michigan.

Good point. If only he had been able to stop John Kelly's partying before the Super Bowls.

+1 It's widely believed that Ralph himself wanted Lynch taken in 2007. So why is modrak at fault for that pick? just because you're in charge of the shopping list doesn't always mean you're making the final decisions on what gets purchased at the store.
