  1. Hmmm, in baseball, we look at players who hit their mid 30s and all of a sudden get better as prime candidates for steroid/HGH use. Why not do the same for football? Players that were once washed up and at the end of the line go to new england* and get new life? That new life is HGH. HGH mind you, that was already shown to be present in the pats* organization. What else have we learned from baseball? Players get it from their teammates. It's not a stretch at all to think that bruschi, etc and all the rest of their 40 yr old defenders are or were on some type of performance enhancing drugs. And stop with the "everyone does it" excuse. Its a tired, substance-free excuse for classless pats* defenders. Spygate is spygate. The pats* cheated and there is no reason to believe that they haven't been cheating since 2001. They filmed the walkthrough of the rams in 2001 and were caught cheating in 2007. Am i supposed to believe that they weren't cheating the entire time? They aren't a dynasty, nor will they ever be, and their "titles" are tainted.
  2. On a lighter note, anyone else think that Bernard and Rose sounded like stuckincincy?
  3. The closeness of the 3 super bowls combined with the knowledge that they were cheating exposes how big of a fraud the pats* team was. Without cheating, they'd be lucky to even advance to the super bowl. Shall we get into the entire HGH issue with pats* defenders in their mid-30s all of a sudden playing like they are 10 years younger?
  4. By my count, Jacob had touched; Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Hurley, Sun, Jin, Locke, Sayid and Ilana. I know he didn't touch Juliette. I agree with some of the other posters that the bad guy on the beach with jacob prolly took over christian's body and then took over Locke's. I'm guessing the big battle will be between jacob's buddies and the bad guy's (undead Locke and Ben). EDIT: Jacob physically touched Jin, Sun, Sayid, Ilana, Locke. Jacob handed something to Jack, Kate, Sawyer, and Hurley. I'm not sure what it means, but it probably means something. As for the beginning, i was wondering if the ship jacob and the bad guy were looking at was the Black Rock. I also wonder if that was the ship that brought richard to the island, because Jacob was very interested in it. If i had to pick a current theory i am subscribing to, its the loop theory where the castaways and such are consistently looping through time. I'm wondering if the beginning of season 6 will start with Jack waking up in the jungle again, like the series premiere. Juliette by the way, is gone and isn't coming back for season 6. So we can assume she's dead. She's got another TV show.
  5. the posts were simply reflecting the content level in the original post. Point: dinosaurs
  6. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Jauron himself. However, i don't want him coaching my football team.
  7. Aside from the frequent sideline foul-ups by dickie, i have 1 big problem with him: 1. dick jauron does not put his players in a position to win/succeed or do their very best. dick plays safe, and plays not to lose. this is why he'll forever be mired at around 7-9 each season. He's not willing to risk it enough to fall to 4-12, and dick is just good enough as a coach to beep the bottom from dropping out. But he does not have what it takes to push a team over the top (or over the .500 mark for that matter). His continuing refusal to use rookies/young players in tight situations not only delays their development, but sets the team back in the long run. Take freddie jackson and jabari greer. Both players should have been out on the field early on. But dickie was so afraid of making mistakes that he'd rather put a long term ceiling on the team's success in order to prevent short term failure. He'd much rather go 7-9 3 straight years instead of taking some risks, developing some young players and going 4-12, then 7-9, then 10-6. Dick would make a great high school coach when it comes to teaching players the game and giving them basic instruction. But in the nfl, he's a mere boy amongst men in the coaching ranks.
  8. This is par for the course for the OP.
  9. Cowturd is slightly above screamin a smith and skip bayless when it comes to sports analysis. Always has been, no matter what the sport and/or topic.
  10. per v-coach. No terms released.
  11. dick jauron has had a losing record in 7 or 8 years he's been a head coach. Why will year 9 all of a sudden be the turning point?
  12. You're misinterpreting a correlation, douche. If a team wins 5 of 6 divisional games, chances are that the team is simply good, and they are going to win the majority of their out of division games. Good divisional records are an effect of having a good team, NOT a cause. As for the other divisional opponents schedules, "taking care of them," we have 8 of 10 common opponents. So why would that schedule take care of miami and the jets, but not us? The amount of stupidity you manage to pack into your posts is phenomenal.
  13. Last time i checked, training camp != minicamp. Training camp doesn't start until the end of july. So you are implying Byrd will not graduate until july, asshat.
  14. Fatass decided it would be fun to not block anyone on that play. He could have blocked a blitzing Elam, but the wide load was either too fat to get out of his stance quick enough, or too retarded to realize there was a safety blitz. I don't want any of these qualities in a LT. Fat and stupid is no way to go through life, but Peters is sure as hell trying.
  15. Says people who understand neither statistics nor appropriate statistical method. KC's methods are interesting and good for a debate, but he attempts to apply rigorous statistical analysis to a sport in which there are too many external variables. Under intense scrutiny, KC's methods would most likely fall apart. Baseball is a sport that you can have rigorous analysis due to the relative simplicity of the game and the fact you have an extremely large sample size for your analysis (162 games, 500-600 at bats, etc). Someone mentioned home runs. Lets compare those to pass completions. When analyzing home runs, you have a relatively simple analysis. It is pitcher versus batter. No other external factors come into play. (i'm leaving out mental factors). A person's home run hitting ability isn't going to be affected by runners on base, nor by any outfield shift, nor by how big of a leadoff the runner takes, nor by the amount of pick-off throws the pitcher makes. The home run comes down to the batter being able to hit the pitched ball. Compare that to the pass completion. A multitude of variables affect a completed pass. What type of coverage is the defense is? How many people are in coverage? How long is the pass? Did any of the blockers miss an assignment? Did a WR run the wrong route. Did a WR get jammed? Was the QB hurried? This is why it is extremely difficult to make a rigorous statistical analysis with football.
  16. The biggest problem with classmates? 1) their service wasn't free, and 2) everyone i know friggin hates/hated all of their annoying banner/pop-up ads on every single site known to man.
  17. Can someone explain how the draft turned a sub-par offseason into an "awesome" one?
  18. I'm not at all shocked that people are fighting for credit. Our society really has sunk that low. Instead of actually honoring the heroes of flight 93, we have idiots fighting over who's name gets the recognition for the vomit stain on the countryside. Way to make it about yourselves, idiots. This entire memorial has turned into a perfect example of the state of personal selfishness and government waste.
  19. I had to read this part 3-4 times, and i still can't believe it. Seriously? We need to memorialize where the FBI set up their HQ? "And this right here is the exact spot where Bill the junior agent spilled coffee grounds whilst attempting to brew a pot of coffee for the senior agents assigned to the investigation." Why don't we just cut to the chase and close down all airspace of the flight pattern and designate it "memorial airspace." Every time you look up into the sky you should remember the flight and drop down to your knees to say a prayer.
  20. The real trick is somehow finding a way to stpo the pendulum from swinging farther in each direction everytime. We need to be working on slowing the pendulum down and making sure the swings don't get too far away from center.
  21. Decent episode. Here some thoughts. 1. Kate has tuned into a ninny. I like old kate better where she was much stronger and not so wishy-washy. 2. In last week's ep, Richard seems to be entering a territory where he doesn't know what the hell is going on. Prior to that point, he seemed to have everything under control and knew what was going to happen, and when. Now he seems genuinely dumbfounded by Locke and Locke's new power. 3. Me and the girlfriend both think that that Richard might be holding Jacob "down" so to speak. Perhaps he's running a "scam," since he seems to be in control of the island and always has been. He always picks "leaders" that will help him control the people. I think he's afraid of Locke blowing his cover and taking over. 4. On a similar vein, perhaps Locke isn't on the island to replace Ben, but is there to replace Richard? 5. Perhaps the Losties changing things in the past has started to have a very real effect on the future. In the past few weeks, we have both Eloise (2007) and Richard (2007) who apparently always knew what was going on, and both have made overtures to the fact that they don't or can't see what is going to happen anymore. Maybe the Losties are being "successful" in changing things for themselves/the island/humanity. Perhaps we are witnessing a "changing of the guard" so to speak in who controls the island, from the richard-whidmore-hawking types to Locke-Jack. Maybe that will be the great war or battle coming up. The old guard fighting to stay in control of the island, with the Losties destined to take over and be the new keepers.
  22. Actually only you 2 are arguing that tebag is a good passer. And for the record, good completion % != good passer, especially in college. Completing a lot of passes doesn't all of a sudden mean that one has good mechanics. And as was said before, tebag's passing mechanics are garbage. He will not succeed as an NFL QB. Perhaps i should put every other word in all caps so you understand my post.
  23. Whatever you decide to do, you need to go ahead with the assumption that the music career is NOT going to pan out.
  24. Absolutely disgusting. Here's something interesting: The dictionary definition of "terrorism" I'm not seeing much difference.
  25. Try some reading comprehension. I said that "In the NFL, tebag will not be bigger and faster than almost everyone like he is now." Currently, he runs over and through people, because of his size. In the NFL, if he tries that, there are going to be 250 lb LBs and 280 lb DEs ready to tear his head off. He'll be carted off the field prior to halftime of his first game if he tries to use his college running style in the NFL. As for his passes, they speak for themselves. Often times they wobble and quack and have the trajectory of a WWII mortar. The guy simply has garbage passing mechanics. He can get by with that in college, but there's no way it will ever work in the NFL.
