Oct 2002 - The story of Dick Jauron "Coward"-gate
Ramius replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Woodley and Jackson were all college DEs that were going to be converted and are converted to rush OLBs. Thats why i didn't include them. Pittsburgh didnt draft them to play DE, they drafted them to play OLB. -
Eric Moulds, Aaron Schobel, Lee Evans, Marcus Stroud all say hi! And Ruben Brown was very close to over the hill. He was let go because of poor play, NOT because of salary cap reasons.
-
Fatty is our old jackass LT, now on philly, who was too self-centered to actually show up for camp and be in shape for the season. Instead he rolled in (literally) late and proceeded to give up sack after sack, game in and game out.
-
The only thing Peters blocked last season was his arteries.
-
We are speaking about your team's backup QB situation. The Bills signed Fitzpatrick as a backup. Your team lost Cassel and now has Kevin O'Connell as a backup.
-
I'm sure its something they've batted around.

Oct 2002 - The story of Dick Jauron "Coward"-gate

Well, since 2002, in rounds 1-3, pittsburgh has spent 13 (1 QB, 1 RB, 5 WR, and 6 DBs) picks on skill positions while spending 5 picks on the OL/DL (3-3rd round tackles, and 1sts on a OG and DT). This year, ziggy hood was their first 1st rounder on the DL since they took casey hampton in 2001. So pittsburgh builds their teams by spending twice as many early round picks on skill positions as the line? The biggest difference between us and them is not what positions are drafted how often, but that pittsburgh hits on their early OL draft picks just about all the time. Again, it comes to picking talent, not picking position X or Y. -
Keep a long time good 'guy' poster in your thoughts.

Thought and prayers your way. -
You guys are right. Motion of the crust at a plate boundary that is both seismically and volcanically active will have no effect whatsoever on the black box that is in that region.
-
Perhaps i am having trouble reading correctly, but did Dwight Dumbass just read an article that said "it is a possibility that it could have come from a lab, but we essentially have no data to support or refute this," and turn it into a "its a bioweapon, see i was right!" post?
-
Maybe the eagles can teach fatty how to block a safety blitz instead of cluelessly looking around and blocking no one, all the while complaining, "it wasn't my responsibility."
-
Don't forget he needs to toss in an extra $20 into the plate this weekend. Then he's absolved.
-
Because Matt Cassel is gone. That's how your backup situation is worse.
-
Harrison is a cheap dirty POS. He deserves whatever physical misfortune comes his way in the future.

I've been hearing that a severe updraft could have been the cause. As was mentioned earlier, they had no way of flying above the storm, so its kind of the "mouse-in-a-maze" trick to pick the best way through the storm. The updraft could have come from anywhere and easily flipped the plane or caused severe damage. With reagrds to the black box, i doubt they'll ever find it. Not only is it at a depth of anywhere from 7,000 to 14,000 feet, they managed to crash pretty much on top of the mid-atlantic ridge. The topography of the ocean floor at the crash site resembles a mountain range. Toss in the fact that the floor is constantly shifting/moving with the new crust constantly forming, it'll be a stroke of pure luck to find the black box.

If the former is the case, i'm temporarily a yankees fan.

I dont trust jauron to do anything right. Money and that stupid extension is the only reason he's still here. -

The Bills also have a history of drafting first round RBs while the lines suck, so whats your point? My point is and always has been, that the problems come from not addressing the lines in the draft in rounds 1-3. The problems do NOT stem from drafting DBs. -
Brandon Marshall won't be suspended again
Ramius replied to VOR's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Marshall was arrested something like 5 times in the last 3 years for domestic disturbances/assault/battery from his previous relationship (the one with Rasheeda Watley). Goodell is becoming a running joke with the discipline policy. He's going to bring the hammer down if you aren't a big time player in a big time market. If you are a "star" then simply apologize on TV and have goodell talk to your momma and everything is ok. -

Good job completely ignoring the argument i presented. But then, you've ignored GG numerous times when he's posted similar arguments, so why should you change now. But lets all pretend and make up lies about how the Bills draft more DBs than anyone else (when its been shown dozens of times that they dont) so we can whine and B word and continue our crusades. -
Or you could look at it logically and realize it means he would want to be traded to a place where he could start at QB.

No, that does not make it a human being. That makes it a cell. It it a cell with the possible potential to develop into a human being, but a fertilized cell is NOT a "unique living human being." It is nothing more than a cell with a couple more chromosomes than you have.

I'm not defending dick jauron at all. I'm pointing out the error in BillfromNYc's argument. If your head hasn't firmly lodged in your ass, you'd see it was a comparison between Levy and Polian and their drafting strategies. Nowhere did i mention dick jauron. But you've never been one to deal in facts and/or reality, so why start now? -

Interesting you use those 2 people. Marv - If he had more input as you are hypothesizing, he would have had say during the Butler years, from the 93 draft to the 96 draft. In those drafts, the Bills spent 2 firsts and 2 thirds on DBs. They also took a 1st round OL in Rueben Brown. Now in Marvs second stint with the bills, in 2 years he spent a 1st and a 3rd on DBs. Bill Polian - Took over prior to the 1986 draft in buffalo, and his last draft was the 1992 draft. In 7 drafts with the Bills, Polian took 12 DBs in the first 7 rounds of the draft. (i limited the '86-92 drafts to 7 rounds so they'd be comparable to today),including 2 firsts and 2 seconds. In that same span, he spent 2 firsts on OL, in his first and last years with the bills. Note that aside from those 2, he spent a lone 3rd round pick on the OL in all the other years and took no other lineman higher than the 7th round. "Marv years" with buffalo - 3 firsts and 3 thirds on DBs, 12 total DBs over 6 years "Polian years" with buffalo - 2 firsts, 2 seconds, 1 third, 12 total DBs in 7 years. Whoopsie! Why are the draft records similar, if these guys have "different ideas on how to build a team?" Now we look at Polian in Indy, which he took over with the 1998 draft: Note that glenn and meadows were drafted by the previous GM. Polian has taken 25 DBs in the 12 drafts he's been in Indy, including 2 firsts, 4 seconds, and 6 thirds. In that same span in Indy, he's drafted exactly 3 OL in the first 2 rounds, with 0 first rounders. Polian with Indy from '98 to '09 - 2 firsts, 4 seconds, 6 thirds and 25 total DBs. 3 picks on the OL in rounds 1-3. Buffalo from '98-'09 - 4 firsts, 2 seconds, and 2 thirds, and 20 total DBs.In that same span, the bills have spent 5 picks on the OL in rounds 1-3. So you tell me who is to blame for the Bills drafting DBs? Seems to me like Polian is the one with the history of extensive drafting of DBs. So perhaps Marv and polian agree on a strategy on what players to target in the draft and what players to target in free agency. Everyone drafts DBs. Everyone drafts lots of DBs. That's the nature of the game. In today's NFL, where there are 3 WRs most of the time, teams need to start as many DBs as OL. Now feel free to ignore the numbers and tell us all how the 2006 draft was an "unmitigated disaster" and set the franchise back 65 years because we took some DBs. -

The titans have spent 4 of their past 9 1st rounders on DBs, yet you somehow leave them out. And again, please explain how the early 90's bills selecting DBs (which they desperately needed, as our secondary was weak) somehow has a bearing on how the 2009 Bills will play. oh thats right. It has nothing to do with anything.
