  1. McNabb is screwed whenever the opposition sends a safety blitz.
  2. Hold off on the T.O. jersey. Next January/February you'll be able to snag one for about $25.
  3. Stupid move by the Lions. They shouldn't be tipping their hand prior to the draft. Perhaps this is a smoke screen?
  4. Good post, and i'd also like to compliment you on your use of the word "rogered." It's a highly amusing word that is extremely underused.
  5. That's fine. Back on topic, i think you can't simply define specific positions as "less likely to bust" simply because they are position X. You need to look at the causality. Take OGs for instance. Most of them aren't drafted until the late 20's. The best 4-6 teams in the league are picking in the late 20's. So, an OG drafted then is either going to 1. sit the bench for a bit and not be expected to contribute a ton right away, and 2. step into a much better situation with better players around them.
  6. Ever read his books? Aside from being smart as hell, the guys got an amazing ability to convey his work to the non-astronomy crowd.
  7. Given peters painfully evident lack of intelligence, he'll be on one of those ESPN specials in about 10 years about players that are broke and living on welfare.
  8. Screamin' A Smith? Knowledgeable? Someone is over celebrating 4/20.
  9. I'd say 1. Orakpo 2. Ayers/Brown (both have talent and i think both of these guys would instantly upgrade the pass rush and the front 7) I'm not sold at all on Maybin. He's small, and put on too much weight too fast. It'll be tough to tell how he'll play at his new weight. There's something about him i don't trust.
  10. Lets see...Evans, Stroud got new deals, and Peters didn't. What did Peters do different than those 2? If he honestly can't determine the answer to the question, he probably should be legally declared mentally handicapped.
  11. I did 7 years of draft study, including the 2008 draft, comparing the DBs taken in rounds 1 to 3: http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=66210&hl=
  12. FSU's defense tended to over pursue as a whole last year, so it was tough to tell what Everette was doing on those specific plays.
  13. Out of all these "3-4 OLB playmakers," how many of them have actually played OLB before? A 3-point stance DE rushing the passer is a lot different than playing OLB and having to cover routes, etc. Not all of these guys will successfully convert. Just because some of the best teams run the 3-4 doesn't mean that the defense is fool-proof. I bet Pittsburgh could take any defensive alignment and make it successful within a couple of years, be it 3-4, 4-3, 46, or Tampa-2. Drafting good players makes the defense go, not switching to some magic "scheme."
  14. Regarding clements, you can keep saying whatever you want about not tagging/trading, but that's the norm in the NFL. Samuel, Briggs, Haynesworth, etc were all allowed to walk and test FA after they had been tagged. so based on your criteria, there are numerous retarded front offices, including new england. I believe the Bills had every intention on paying peters top dollar, only they wanted in on their terms. If Peters had showed up to camp and had a decent season, he would have been extended this offseason. The Bills simply didn't want to pay him in 2008, only 2 seasons after re-signing him. Thus, no reason to draft Clady. You can't predict that Peters would have held out all camp, because lots of players grumble about contracts and very rarely do they actual no show up to camp.
  15. Good. Screamin' A. Smith was beyond worthless. Someone needs to tell him all his shows/columns got cancelled simply because he isn't any good and no one likes him. BUT HE CAN YELL SO I GUESS HE THINKS THAT'S COOL!!!
  16. Its tough to comment on his ability to play the run, because he wasn't asked to stop the run in a traditional sense here. FSU wants its DEs to get upfield and let the LBs clean up. Brown is a disrupter. His job, and he excelled, was to get into the backfield and create havoc, be it a run or pass play. Stats wise, he registered 21.5 and 11.5 tackles for loss the past 2 seasons, so he can stop the run in the backfield. The kids got the moves and fluidity to get into the backfield, which i feel translates well at the NFL level. He'll need moves like that to get by the bigger stronger OTs in the NFL. He was an every down player here, so i don't see why "he can't take the pounding." The biggest part of his game he needs to work on is some better body control and doing a better job of wrapping up tackles. There were probably 3-4 times this season he blew into the backfield and let the QB slip from his grasp. But, i think that is something that can be corrected by coaching. Plenty of other DEs currently in the NFL operate perfectly fine in the 250-265 range, so there's no reason to think Brown can't do the same. I would agree that in obvious running downs, ie- 3rd and short, you bring in a more stout player against the run.
  17. I dont understand the height thing either. Take a ruler and measure out 2 inches on a piece of paper. Then someone please explain to me why that miniscule difference in how tall someone is means they are going to be significantly worse than someone taller. I've watched him from the stands the past 2.5 years and the guy is explosive as hell and would be a welcomed addition to our lack of a pass rush.
  18. For whatever reason, Brown's stock seems to be falling. We may be able to snag him at 28.
  19. FWIW, i can at least the logic behind the Peters and Clements moves. I do not understand the lahjik of trading Roscoe for a 4th rounder.
  20. I've made it plenty clear that i'm not happy with what the Bills got in return. I wasn't expecting a cutler-like haul, but i expected more than what they got. I was ok with trading Jason "Lennie" Peters, but the FO should have gotten a better return on their investment. My argument was to Mickey who made it seem like everyone in the NFL wanted Peters on their squad.
  21. please explain how there will be a net gain in funds for unemployment/health care when dumping the state school system is going to put millions more into the "unemployed" pool. Or at least pass whatever you were smoking when you posted this.
  22. Fatass was also cut during one of the first cutdowns, and none of the other 31 teams thought high enough of him to attempt to sign him. You're right though that he wouldn't be flipping burgers. Burger flipping requires the necessary mental capacity to understand that one side is cooked and one side is uncooked, and that you need to put the uncooked side face down on the grill. Peters doesn't quite fit the bill for that job.
  23. Anything less than a 2nd for Roscoe is a waste and another step back. We need playmakers, and Roscoe is one of them. He's one of the few players on this team that is a threat to score every time he touches the ball. Its not his fault that our OC is too retarded to get Roscoe the ball 3-5 times per game on screens/reverses, etc.
  24. Was it gay when they wore blindfolds and played "everyone reach to the left?"
