Agreed. If Crowell's knee was hurting him so bad that he was in pain in 2007, why didn't he get the knee taken care of last offseason? Lots of players do this in the offseason and are more than ready for OTAs and training camp. The timing of his decision was very odd. It really seems like he wanted ot get the knee taken care of, play his nuts off in the final 12 games, and cash in big during free agency. As for the Buccs, the word down here in Buccs land is that they are still very unsure of his knee. They think he can be a good contributor to the defense, but they aren't expecting a superstar. He'll have to beat out Quincy Black and Geno Hayes for a starting spot.

I know. think of how much they'll help our pass rush...oh wait.. But who cares! We got fat OL guys! Super Bowl, here we come!
-
Good job on picking Mack. With Oher at guard, our 2nd round pick will look nice glued to the bench. But hey, who cares if we dont actually address team needs as long as we get what fans deem good "value." So now we've got mack and oher, and we can watch the defense ring up 20 sacks again on the season. Who cares about the pass rush? We've got FAT GUYS!

http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_12104180 Playing with Kyle Orton is fun? I guess it could be fun...in the same way that a root canal and a colonoscopy is fun.

Gotta go michael johnson. We can do without a top flight TE, but we can't do without a pass rush. OL would not be wise either as they'd be strictly a backup behind PEters-Oher-Hangy-Butler-Walker

Lynch pleads guilty to Firearms Possession

I'm still standing by everything i said. He'll appeal, and it'll get knocked down some. Or did the appeal already occur this morning and lynch got denied? -
NFL Beat writers Mock draft

Good pick. The rams are desperate for WR help. They also need corner help. However, in all honesty, i believe that even if you had a team of 11 pro bowlers and 11 pro bowl backups on offense, and had pro bowl starters and backups on the defensive front 7, and nothing but garbage in the secondary, i fully believe you would still refuse to draft a DB in round 1 and would instead draft a 4th string OG.

Where is NFL.com's Adam Schefter???
Ramius replied to Never NEVER Give-up's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Schefter's a good guy (i dont have any experience with his reporting prior to the NFLN), but one does really have to wonder if his sources will dry up if he breaks from the network. My only complaint against him was the same as mentioned above; in the past few drafts on NFLN (much better coverage than the mother ship), Schefter would announce the draft pick just prior to the commish announcing it. I never liked that. -
The funniest part of this whole mess is that if Peters had reported to training camp last year instead of going on a daily tour of Mighty Taco, KFC, Ted's, and Mickey D's, he'd probably have 25 million guaranteed on a 60 million dollar deal right now.

I'm rooting for Phil, but my money is on Paddy Harrington. He's got the last 2 majors in a row. Also, for a sentimental rooting interest, i am pulling for Drew Kittleson. He's a sophomore here at FSU.

Report: Lynch suspended three games
Ramius replied to TimGraham's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Complete bull sh-- suspension. Yes, Marshawn does need to be punished, but apparently Goodell is determining punishment based on which side of the bed he wakes up and on whether he has waffles or eggs for breakfast that morning. I don't mind if he's going to be harsh on players, but i do expect the commissioner to be consistent in his penalties. This "i determine the punishment based on how i see fit" gives him too much leeway. You can bet your ass that if this was Willie Parker or Laurence Maroney, they'd be fined and that would be that. I fully expect this to be appealed and reduced to 1 game, just like what happened with Marshall last offseason. 1 more question: Lynch gets suspended 3 games for having a gun in the trunk, but Matt Jones can snort coke and only gets 3 games? -
Dunham is great. I saw his show last december and it was a riot. He's pretty good at straight up stand up too. Guitar guy opened the show and that guy is a damn funny comedian.

Re: Jenkins, Denver had initially taken Clay Matthews. With that, there was no one left on the D front 7 to help out Tampa, but they do need help at CB. They've got some good young safeties, but They have Talib and Barber at CB and thats it. I would have considered taking Maclin at 19, but no way in hell i was taking Harvin then. TB has no need for a RB since they signed Ward, and no need for a TE with Winslow. I also am not completely sold on Josh Freeman, and i think Josh Johnson will get a real shot to see what he can do. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see him under center towards the end of the season for the Buccs.

Tampa Bay selects CB Malcom Jenkins, Ohio St. Since Denver changed their selection, Tampa Bay selects OLB Clay Matthews, USC

The Bills OL From Left To Right
Ramius replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll agree with both you and Rich. Given the apparent "depth" of positions in the draft, the most wise choice in a couple of weeks would be to go DE with the #11 and then interior OL with the #42. I am totally against drafting a G or C at the #11 spot. If we cant get a DE or DT, i'd rather see a OLB than G/C. -
The only one you could make an argument for would be keeping Dumont instead of re-signing Max. Grier wanted to go closer to home.McKee wasn't and isn't worth 4 mil per year, and Miller is much better than Biron. Plus, Biron wasn't going to sit here and be a backup forever. Drury and Briere showed that in some situations, the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.
-
If we trade Peters, then taking Oher at #11 wouldn't be too bad. However, i was basing the pick off today, where we have Peters still as our LT. Given the drop off in pass rushers from 11 to 42, and comparing it to the relative abundance of OG or OT that should be available at 42, it would be highly foolish to ignore the pass rush when there are legit options at #11. Hell, even an OLB who can be a playmaker and get to the QB would be an improvement.

New Discovery About Keeping Your Computer Clean
Ramius replied to The Dean's topic in Off the Wall Archives
The inside of my computer screen may be the source of a lot of filth, but its not of the bacteria/dust variety. -
So its only ok to "reach" for an OL? Could have had a similar G prospect in round 2 with robinson or levitre and gotten some defensive front 7 help at #11.
-
I went with matthews. I'm not sold on maybin at all. He's going to get swallowed up in the NFL and i will be severely disappointed if the Bills take him at #11. I also thought about Oher, but we can get a good G in round 2.
