  1. I was stoked about the 2002 draft. We had drafted our 10 year OT, we snagged the nation's best WR when he fell into the second round, and got a solid DE to play opposite schobel. Things were looking up.
  2. "Rookie cap" pool money is determined based off of total number of draft picks and draft position. I believe that it isn't determined until after the draft to take into account trades, etc. It doesn't meant a whole lot, because most teams have no trouble staying under their given rookie pool.
  3. Now we know Dawgg's real name.
  4. If you are making $X per year and think you need/should get a raise, is it prudent to just sit there and not talk to your bosses, and wait for them to contact you?
  5. Just a 4th please. If you include Kelsay in the trade, we'd have to give Jax a 3rd.
  6. There's absolutely no spin to this. The Bills never have released information regarding trades and contracts. The money numbers for contracts and trade parameters always come from another source. This isn't spin. Its how the Bills have operated for years.
  7. Didn't wanna spend money on a 3rd rounder? That argument loses any and all weight once you are outside the top 5-10 picks. A 3rd rounder will be signed to around a 4 year 2-2.5 million (total) contract. You're telling me the Bills are too damn cheap to pay 600k per year for a 3rd rounder?
  8. I think we can easily find a rookie who can give up a sack per game. And pay him a lot less. The real victims in this trade are the local area Mighty Taco, Ted's, Anderson's, and Duff's restaurants.
  9. maybe we can package the 4th and the 6th rounders to move up into the 3rd round.
  10. And we couldn't trade our own 4th while pocketing a 3rd? 3rd rounder > 4th rounder
  11. I'm more upset about the compensation than the actual trade. I'm still trying to figure out in what universe a 4th and a 6th is better than a 3rd. We could have had 5 picks in the top 85, but no, we're smarter than the rest of the league, so we'll pass on the 3rd so we can get an extra 6th. Camp fodder! Yay! Super Bowl bound!
  12. Pat's and Geno's are extremely excited about Peters being traded to philly.
  13. We had the "throw the ball up" rule as well. However, if you threw the ball before you got hit, or tried to shy away from catching it, that was grounds for a pounding, ball or not. Usually if you tossed the ball before getting hit, the ball was ignored until you were a part of the landscape. Like you, i was small through most of high school since i hit my growth spurt late. But, dodgeball, smear the queer gave you a change to fight for your place. Taking your lumps and getting up earned respect with the bigger/older kids.
  14. Lets see: We could have had these picks: 1,1,2,3,3,4, and traded our 4th, leaving us with: 1,1,2,3,3. Instead we take their 4th and trade it, leaving us: 1,1,2,3,4. Sure makes sense to me. Why would we want a 3rd rounder when we could have a 4th instead. Oh, i know, we got an extra 6th round pick. SUPERBOWL BABY!!!!!
  15. On the plus side, this trade should be the final nail in jauron's coffin in buffalo. i dont see how he survives our impending 5 win (max) season.
  16. I"m more upset at the piss poor compensation we got. The trade was kinda expected. No way was Ralph going to let Peters spend another training camp on a beanbag chair eating taco bell and KFC everyday like last season. I'm gonna laugh when the fat douche shows up to Iggles camp at 390.
  17. Not to mention that the union workers probably needed custom made $150 brooms and mops with sure-grip dr scholls padded handles.
  18. Sounds like someone took the brunt end of the smearing and couldn't defend himself.
  19. Looks like some here enjoyed a nice picnic lunch of paint chips washed down with mercury under the scenic vistas of some high tension wires.
  20. Wow. Looks like Mike Brown has now found a cheaper way to run the bengals.
  21. Yup. its someone's piss poor attempt to cause a stir. He also suggested that the Bills should move to Toronto and we should still root for them like they were in Buffalo. The only problem is, this guys is not nearly as quick-witted or funny as he thinks he is.
  22. Ok, finally getting caught up here. Mom was visiting the past week, so i had 2 eps to catch up on last night. Lots of good ideas as usual thrown about and i have a few to add. 1. Alpert - i think he's the owner or keeper of the island and the "others." He seems to get the pieces in place where they need to be, but then let the individuals make their own choices. This was highlighted with Young Ben and baby Alex. There was a disagreement between Ben and Whidmore about what to do with Alex, and Richard kind of sat there and had a look of, "you make the choice." 2. On the topic of Alex, i wonder if Ben keeping her had something to do with the others' inability to have children. Perhaps Ben was supposed to kill her as a baby, but if he did what "he wanted" instead of what the island wanted, the island punished the group by not allowing any babies to be born. Ben seemed to do a lot of what he wanted as the leader, which may not have been what the island wanted. 3. Locke, Sun, Ben, etc. Do we know for sure they are in 2007? I know the plane left in 2007 LOST time, and that jack etc went back to 1977. But did the rest of the plane land in 2007 or some other time between Dharma and the present. Remember, they went from flying during the night to crashing during the day. 4. The new group in 2007 seems to be the leftovers of the DI. With all the guns, it makes sense they are primed to re-take the island. 5. As soon as Hurley asked how to spell bounty hunter, i knew he was re-writing SW:ESB.
  23. If a kid is being "bullied" by getting dodgeballs thrown at him, he needs to friggin nut up and learn how to catch the ball. Or throw it back harder. That will stop him from being a target. And as KD said, sure the weaklings are targeted first, but after that, we were throwing just as hard and aiming for the heads of the "athletic" kids left.
  24. I'm waiting for some psycho parent to get some 6 year old labeled a sex offender because their daughter got tagged by a boy.
