We need to be allowed to shoot people
Ramius replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Off the Wall Archives
The best way to improve life on this planet would be to give everyone a "shoot one person free" card. Since you wouldn't know who still has theirs, you bet your ass that everyone would be nice and polite and courteous to everyone else. -
Lambert could put on a hell of a Vegas show. Let the kid sing, dance, and perform. I'd go watch him perform a dozen songs or so if they were all like last night's show.
-
Not really, because Cutler is still on his rookie deal. I remember that he's got 2 years left on his deal and something along the lines of 1.5 and 2 million base salaries the final 2 years. Denver's already paid his signing bonuses and such.

Preston's Comments on the Bills as a Packer
Ramius replied to LynchMob23's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What does that say about Duke if he had trouble cracking our starting lineup while here? -
Both miami and FSU also have or have started a home-and-home with Oklahoma. FSU plays OU in '10 and '11. FSU also has a home-and-home scheduled with WVU for '12 and '13. Miami is also going to Ohio St as well as having 4 games against USF.

interesting proposal to split NY state
Ramius replied to drinkTHEkoolaid's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I know it isn't listed as part of rent, but any expense the landlord has for basic operation is being passed onto the renter. And you never answered my question the other day...Matt's or the 5-8 club for the juicy lucy? -
The buck may still "stop" with brandon, but it ultimately stops with Ralph. I don't care who holds what title in this organization, but anyone who has followed this team realizes that whatever Ralph wants, Ralph gets. He's the decision maker for this franchise. Sure, he may defer to his football guys on certain matters, but when Ralph decides something, thats whats going to happen. Ralph overseeing Brandon does isn't a knock on Brandon's ability. Its Ralph being Ralph.

interesting proposal to split NY state

Perhaps i am just dumb, but as a renter, i have always been under the assumption that the property taxes on a rental gets passed on to the renter as part of the monthly rent. -
If you were building a team, what defensive position
Ramius replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Defensive End -
The Bills didn't "attempt" to pay Peters anything. They paid him the contract that he signed, the same contract he was only 2/5th of the way through. The Bills also told Peters than there would be no discussions if he didn't show up to camp. He didn't, so there were no discussions about a new deal. Perhaps the Bills never intended to give him a new deal, but we'll never know, because Peters chose to sit home eating doritos instead of coming to training camp. Had Peters showed to camp, showed he was a team player and that he was ready to bust his ass to be paid like a top-flight LT, then all the sentiment would be on his side now. The front office would look bad if they didn't give him a deal. But since he held out, he still looks like the petulant child, and he looks like someone who is only in it for the cash, and isn't willing to give 100% to earn his money. Peters also hasn't played LT for 2 years in a grossly underpaid status. He was an up and coming LT going into 2007, so his salary was right where it should have been. Just because you switch positions doesn't mean you get paid like the top players at that position. You have to prove you are worth it. And for those saying that Peters showed in 2007 that he was worth it, since we are going on single year evaluations, his 2008 season proved that he doesn't deserve to be anywhere the top of the LT pay scale. It all comes down to the fact that we have a lazy, selfish LT who has 1.5 good years at LT and 1 very mediocre year at LT, yet wants to be paid like the top LT in the game. I need to see more proof of 1)he is going to continue to pay at a high level, and 2)he isn't just some worthless slob motivated by a big payday. Remember, we have a player who decided that he was more important than the team.
-
He skipped all of last year's camp and his not being in game shape and mediocre play cost us. Its one thing to skip the OTAs and stuff in june to make your point about a contract. But to skip all of training camp and punish your team because you are a selfish ass says a lot about his character. He wants his big payday, but doesn't actually want to earn it. And if he was listening to his agent, then the guy is just plain dumb. The discussion isn't ludicrous, because many of us feel it isn't worth paying 11-12 million dollars per year to a guy who might give 100%, or might not. He also may become very good consistently, or he may just be consistently mediocre. We don't know, because he's had 1 season of each.
-
Its my mistake on the switching back and forth from RT to LT, but Jordan Gross has been a very good OT his entire career, and in the past few years, he's vaulted into the upper echelon at LT. Just because the media doesn't pimp him doesn't mean he's not any good. Gross has proven his worth over the course of 6 years. Peters had a good 2006, but not unbeatable. He was very good in 2007 and then was overly mediocre in 2008. He's had 1.5 good seasons and 1 mediocre one. We dont know which one is the real peters. Forgive me for not wanting to make him the highest paid LT, just so he can spend his new signing bonus on KFC. There are serious questions about Peters' desire to play. I have some serious doubts that he'll give it his all once he gets a new huge contract. And i'll take Gross' 6 year track record over peter's 2.5 years of up and down play.
-
Before people post these outlandish trade down ideas, put yourself in the other teams shoes and ask if you would still complete the trade. If not, don't bother posting the idea.
-
bull sh--. Complete bull sh--. Jordan Gross has played like a top level left tackle for his entire 6 year career, and is arguably the top LT in the game right now. Compare this to peters, how has showed 1 good season and 1 so-so season at LT. Peters has potential, but to say he's better than gross is a gross overestimation of Peters' ability. I would trade Peters for Gross in a heartbeat.

Annual TBD Mock Draft Starts Next Week
Ramius replied to R. Rich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll take Tampa Bay, as usual. -
KC's DT Glenn Dorsey and other player personnel may not be
Ramius replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd rather take Tamba Hali in a trade over Dorsey. -
Officer doing his job or stepping over the line?
Ramius replied to bartshan-83's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Yup. I believe you can also dial 911 and give them your location and they'll verify that it is a real officer pulling you over. -

Nice reports by all of you guys as usual. I'm in the camp that little ben isn't dead and that the island will save him or that he knew what was going to happen if he is in a time loop. I also think there are lots of parallels in the show as Uconn pointed out. The show progression has almost reversed on itself. An interesting side note that might have meaning, or might just be a little Easter egg put in by the producers. The guy who gave sayid the truth serum was named Oldham. In the flashforward, when Sayid killed the last guy in Russia, one of the signs on one of buildings read, "Oldham's Pharmaceuticals"

looks like you forgot to include a little [/shameless plug], dirtbag.

Ramius replied to bartshan-83's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Nothing but a prick cop. No police force needs his kind of scum. There's being cautious and then there's being an out-and-out **** simply because you are on a power trip. EDIT: i actually fault him less for pulling the gun than holding moats there. He onyl pulled the gun because someone charged out of the car. That makes sense. But what happened after was beyond ridiculous. Hmmm, lets see. Emergency room parking lot, entire family in the car, claims they have a dying relative inside. Seems to me the cop could have used (what obviously little) neural matter he's got between his ears to find out if Moats was telling the truth. -
J.P. Lossman to new UFL ? What do you think
Ramius replied to mousetrap08's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Are you sure? Just to play devils advocate, back in 2006, JP had a 5 game stretch from week 11 to week 15 where the Bills went 4-1. JPs stats in those games? 66.4% completions, 1050 yards, 10 TDs, and only 3 INTs. As i mentioned, the team went 4-1, and JP led them to 2 come from behind wins in the 4th quarter on game winning drives (Houston and Jax). He also pounded 2 divisional opponents in that span. -
Michael Lombardi's First Round Mock Draft
Ramius replied to In space no one can hear's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If we traded down to #17 and snagged some extra picks i'd be ok with that. If we traded down to #17 and then still passed on Everette Brown (as we do in this mock), then --> -
What if they prevented the "others" from killing off the DI and this is why sun and frank found DI things in the future? Also, perhaps sun wasn't transported back to 1977 because she wasn't pregnant? Or could it be possible that sun is dr chang's baby? In that vein, she would have already been in 1977 and thus couldn't go back to 1977 because it would create a paradox. This would explain Ben not being transported either.
